Bridget Josephine Belyea Carr
Bridget Josephine Belyea “JoJo” Carr, 73, Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2017. JoJo was born March 3, 1944, in Indianapolis, to the late John and Bridget (McCahill) Carr.
Jo was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. She was employed through the years at St. Augustine Home, Robin Run, and Americana Nursing Home. Jo enjoyed writing poetry, caring for her son, and was strongly devoted to her family. She will be fondly remembered by her loved ones and friends.
She was also preceded in death by siblings, Theresa Carr, Mary Casler, John, Jr., Francis and James Carr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, Jack Jr. “JJ”; three sisters, Sr. Theresa Clare Carr, SP, Catherine Warren, Susan (Ernie) Fox; brothers, Cornelius (Kay) Carr, Rev. Michael (Karen) Carr, Ed (Linda) Carr; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and her closest friend, Linda Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017, 4 to 8 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St., where morning prayers will be said on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 950 Prospect Street. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
Michael T. Bova, Jr.
Michael T. Bova, Jr., 85, lifelong Indianapolis resident, passed away July 30, 2017. Mike Jr. was born October 3, 1931, to the late Michael and Josephine (Mascari) Bova.
He worked in the produce business for years having been a partner in the Bova Fruit Company, Independent Potato Company and Independent Banana Company. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 3660. Mike Jr. was an avid horse racing enthusiast. Above all, he was strongly devoted to his family - a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be fondly remembered.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Frank and Paul Bova; sisters, Lena Zahm, Patrina Ray, Annie Squillace, and Rose Polk.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marguerite (Caito) Bova; children, Josephine (Harry) Marx, Michael A. (Peggy) Bova, Joe (Sally) Bova, and Clara (Antonio) Simeone; sister, Santina Gallamore; brother, Joe Bova; grandchildren, Jennifer Bayliss, Meghann Triggs, Chrisina Rose, Michael Bova, Michelle Bova, Anthony Bova, and Alex Bova; 15 great grandchildren.
The visitation will be on Thursday, August 3, 2017, 3 to 8 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St., where morning prayers will be said on Friday, August 4, 2017, at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Cathy L. Belter
March 23, 1957 - July 16, 2017
Cathy L. Belter, 60, Indianapolis, passed away July 16, 2017. Cathy was born March 23, 1957, in Indianapolis, to the late Ernest G. and Ruth (Petty) Summers.
Cathy was a graduate of Warren Central High School and had worked at Bob Evans. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and attended the Emmanuel Church of Greenwood.
Survivors include her former husband and companion, Brian K. Belter; brothers, Stephen (Pam) Summers and Gary (Sheilah) Summers, both of Greenwood; five nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the Franciscan Hospice House, 8414 Franciscan Lane, Indianapolis, IN 46237 or to the donor's favorite charity.
A private memorial service is being planned. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home.
Florence Abigail Miller
Florence Abigail Miller, 93, Indianapolis, died July 30, 2017. She was born June 16, 1924, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Paul Henry and Rosemary Frances (Maloy) McGauley.
Flo served in the Navy during World War II. It was during that time that she met W. Thomas Miller and they were married in 1946 in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral.
Flo was a graduate of St. Agnes Academy and Indiana University. She had been involved in parish activities at Nativity, St. Michael, St. Mary, and St. Mark. She was an active member of the WAVES veteran group in Indianapolis. Flo also found time to be a published freelance writer and genealogist, tracing the family’s ancestry back hundreds of years and preserving this history for future generations. After raising their four sons and three daughters, she traveled the world with Tom and visited six continents.
She is survived by her children: Thomas E. (Pamela) Miller of San Carlos, CA; Patrick J. (Sheila) Miller of Muskegon, MI; Rosemary A. (Denis) Piotrowski of Challis, ID; Katherine M. (William) McNeely of Brownsburg, IN; Robert P. Miller of Nineveh, IN; Alice J. Miller of Indianapolis, IN; William H. (Sandy) Miller of Latham, NY; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Claire Browning, and sister-in-law, Marilyn McGauley.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, W. Thomas Miller; her daughter-in-law Elaine Miller; and siblings Jane Enslin, Paul McGauley, and John McGauley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017, 5 to 7 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, where morning prayers will be said on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 10 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, in St. Mark Catholic Church. Miriam Eby "Mimi" Cullom
September 1, 1934 - July 16, 2017
Miriam Eby "Mimi" (Hartz) Cullom, 82, Indianapolis, passed away July 16, 2017. Mrs. Cullom was born September 1, 1934, in Weatherly, Pennsylvania, to the late Calvin and Margaret (Eby) Hartz.
She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and was a registered nurse. Mrs. Cullom enjoyed international travel with her late husband. She was also a supporter of the fine arts, and loved the ballet and attending symphony performances. She was a talented gardener, but above all was strongly devoted to her husband and loved her grandchildren dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Thomas Cullom, Jr.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Edward T. Cullom, III (Mary Beth) of Mississippi; a daughter, Kimberly A. Cullom-Curran (Mike) of Indianapolis; brother, Lt. Col. John C. Hartz, US Army, Retired; grandchildren, Edward Thomas Cullom IV, Connor Cullom, and Alexandra Cullom.

Tammy Lynn Bird
March 11, 1961 - May 30, 2017
Tammy Lynn Bird, 56, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home May 30, 2017. Tammy was born March 11, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri.
She graduated from Northwest High School and was united in marriage to her husband, Zack Bird, 39 years ago. Tammy loved children and helping others. She worked in childcare at the Southport United Methodist Church for a number of years. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery, but above all, was strongly devoted to her family. Tammy will be fondly remembered by her loved ones and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Faye (Blair) Ferguson.
Survivors include her husband, Zack Bird; children, Zachary (Jodi) Bird, John Bird, and Jody (Stephen) Shimonek; grandson, Gage Steinbrook; sisters, Melissa (Doug) Bondy and Laura Ferguson; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Tammy Lynn Bird on Sunday, June 4, 2017, 2 - 5 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street. Mallory Elizabeth Opel

Mallory Elizabeth Opel, 27, Indianapolis, tragically passed away November 24, 2017. Mallory was born August 15, 1990, in Indianapolis, to Douglas and Julie (Bartram) Opel, who survive.
Mallory attended St. Mark Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Roncalli High School in 2009. As a student at Roncalli, Mallory excelled as an athlete, playing volleyball and basketball. She was employed as an LPN for American Senior Communities at Rosewalk Village. Mallory will be fondly remembered as an honest and hard-working person who was fiercely loyal to those she loved and those who loved her. She was a beautiful lady who simply adored being the best mom she could be to her daughter, Camilla Rose. Camilla brought an abundant amount of joy to her life. Mallory enjoyed spending time on the beach, especially in Perdido Key, Florida. Above all, she treasured time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David Bartram and her paternal grandmother, Donna (Morgan) Opel. Mallory’s sister, Meredith Grace Opel, also tragically died on November 24, 2017.
Mallory’s family includes her beloved daughter, Camilla Rose; parents, Doug and Julie Opel; siblings, Morgan and Bryce Opel; maternal grandmother, Janet Bartram; paternal grandparents, Ronald E. and Carol Opel; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Meredith Grace Opel, 20, Indianapolis, tragically passed away November 24, 2017. Meredith was born March 4, 1997, in Indianapolis, to Douglas and Julie (Bartram) Opel, who survive.
Meredith attended St. Mark Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Roncalli High School in 2015. She was a junior at the University of Southern Indiana, where she was studying as a Presidential Scholar. She was majoring in sociology and political science; Meredith was determined to make a difference in the world. She was a free spirit, joyful, adventurous, loyal, goal oriented, and inspiring. Meredith recently studied abroad and loved traveling to thirteen different countries in Europe, taking in as much as she possibly could. As a student at USI, she became active with campus outreach and greatly enjoyed being a part of the Orlando Project. Meredith will be fondly remembered by her loving family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David Bartram and her paternal grandmother, Donna (Morgan) Opel. Meredith’s sister, Mallory Elizabeth Opel, also tragically died on November 24, 2017.
