She died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in Westfield Hospital, Indianapolis. Born in Onagra, Illinois, she was the daughter of Henry and Rosie E. Evers Hohman. On Dec. 26, 1922, she was married in St. Joseph, Michigan, to Victor Martin, who preceded in death Aug. 22, 1958. Mrs. Martin was a nanny for Dr. and Mrs. Robert Lewis and family of Indianapolis. Surviving are one stepson, Kennth V. Martin & his wife, Irene; one step-grandson, Ronald P. Martin; one step-granddaughter, Kathleen Gallagher and her husband, Mark; and eight step-great-grandchildren. One step-grandson, Richard B. Martin; one step-granddaughter-in-law, Lola Oliver Martin; and one sister, Helen Orr, preceded in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Born in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Millard and Cova Emhuss Rogers. For many years, she was self-employed as a baby sitter. She was a member of the Resident Council at the Monticello Assisted Living & Healthcare Center until recently. She attended the Church of Christ. Joyce enjoyed doing crafts. She had lived in Monticello since 1993. Surviving are one brother, Gene Rogers, Indianapolis; and Doris Moore, Indianapolis.

He died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11th in his home. Born in Pawnee, Illinois, he was the son of Albert and Lena Beyers Alspaugh who preceded in death. On June 7, 1941, in Paoli, he was married to Della King, who survives. In 1940, he graduated from Paoli High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked for Hubbards Auto dealership for 17 years. In 1982, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed golfing and working in his yard. Surviving with his wife of 61 years are one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Marsha Alspaugh, Flora; one daughter-in-law, Becky Alspaugh, Greentown; two brothers, Carroll Alspaugh, Paoli, and Lennie Alspaugh & his wife Maxine, of Monticellp; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Alspaugh; two sisters, Mimie Ludwig and Hazel Wells; and two brothers, Emett and Elbert Alspaugh. He died at 7:25 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, in his residence. Born March 8, 1947, in Evansville, he was the son of Edgar Preston and Maggie Bell White Forshee. On Dec. 16, 1995, in Logansport, he was married to Kristi J. Harkin, who survives. Tony graduated from Central High School, Evansville, in 1965. He was working on his Associates degree in Computer Networking from Ivy Tech State College. He has been employed at the Logansport State Hospital for nine years where he worked as a qualified medical assistant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Paula Ann Maloney and Carolyn Ann DeVoe, both of Quincy, Massachusetts; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brother, David and James Forshee.
William F. Moore

He died Wednesday morning in St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Room, Kokomo. Born in Chicago, he was the son of Robert and Margaret Gordon Moore. On Oct. 10, 1942, in the Broadway Methodist Church (now known as First U.M.Church), he was married to Mary Eilene Spahr, who survives. From Sept 22, 1942 to Sept 23, 1945, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from the Austin High School in Illinois and attended Northwestern University. A bookseller, his first position was with Brentano's Bookstore in Chicago. He had also been employed with the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. He was one of the founders, first president and first executive secretary of the Christian Booksellers Association, an organization of Christian bookstores now based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was the manager of the Logansport Mall when if first opened in 1968. Randy also worked at Zondervan Family Bookstores, John A. Dickson Publishing Company. Randy was a dedicated and active member of the First U.M. Church. Surviving with his wife of 60 years are three daughters and one son-in-law, Margaret Moore, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Elizabeth & Paul Mackenzie, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and Catherine Moore, Logansport; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Diane Moore, Houlton, Maine, and Richard Moore, Del Mar, California; sixteen grandchildren, Rachel Mackenzie, Katie Mackenzie, David Mackenzie,Hannah Antworth and her husband Todd, Amanda Britton and her husband Joe, Teresa Moore, Joanna Moore, Andrea Moore, Sarah Moore, Reuben Moore, Isaiah Moore, Joshua Moore, Eythan Moore, Donald Moore, Justin Moore and Dallas Moore; two brothers, James Moore, Rockford, Illinois, and Daniel Moore, Blythe, California; two sisters, Martha Wells, Sun City, Arizona, and Helen Hemwall, Oak Park, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Norma Spahr, Minneapolis, Minnesota; one great-grandchild, Micah Moore; several nieces and nephews; and several members of his church family who loved him dearly. On April 17, 1946, in Logansport, she married Maurice Ward. He preceded in death November 1965. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witnesses in Monticello. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. Surviving are three duaghters and two sons-in-law, Janice Abbott; Nancy & Jim Gosnell, and Connie & Warren Alma; five sons, Nathan Ward, Bruce Ward, Charles Ward, Andrew Timothy Ward, and James Ward; one half-brother, Clarence Benjamin Jr.; seven half-sisters, Joy Merye, Anna Mitton, Kathryn Apple, Ferrell "Maurine" Browne, Vera Timm, Patricia Tolley, and Irene Hood; one step sister, Ethel Geisler Stanley; twenty-three grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Maurice David Ward; one brother, Herrick Benjamin; her twin sister, Bessie Mae Benjamin; two other sisters, Clarice Giles and Mary Benjamin; and three step-sisters. She was retired from the Metea Restaurant where she had worked several years. Surviving are one daughter, Lou Ann Foust, Logansport; one brother, Cecil Malott Jr., Logansport; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded in death.

He died at 12:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, in Miller's Merry Manor. Born in Huntington, he was the son of Vaughn and Adda Jackson Patten. He was married to Ruth I. Shavey, who preceded in death in 1963. On Dec. 17, 1965, in Huntington, he was married to Winifred L. Elliott, who preceded in death June 15, 1999. Mr. Patten was retired from S.S. Kresge Company. He was a member of the Huntington Masonic Lodge. Surviving are one son, Charles J. Patten, Spivey, Kansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Joe Baumgardner, Logansport; one step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Donald M. and Gale Bosh, Lansdale, PA; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
