Homer C. Scott, 73 Homer C. Scott, 73, of 6106 N. Lake Road 6.5 E., died at 3:06 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky, on Feb. 27, 1930, to Albert Lee and Bertha McIntyre Scott. He married Genevieve Frazier at Dyer on July 17, 1953. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a skilled laborer for Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights, Ill. He attended Buffalo Christian Church in Buffalo. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Eagles Lodge. He played music at the VFW and the Eagles in Monticello, Logansport and Lafayette. He enjoyed playing the guitar and racing stock cars. Other survivors include a daughter, Gail L. Latta of Monticello; brothers, Malcom Scott of Mesa, Ariz., and Willie (Evelyn) Bean of Thayer; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bruce Hurley officiating. Burial, with full military rites, will be at Hughes Cemetery, Monticello.

Donald "Nute" Glen Kistler, 80, Georgetown, died at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. Born in Cass County on Christmas Eve 1916, he was the son of Frank A. and Eva Gordon Kistler. He was married to Grace Parkman Kistler, who preceded in death. Mr. Kistler was a retired crane operator for Wolf Construction. He was a member of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department and the Eagles Aerie 262. He enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms and spending time with his family. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Patsy Kistler, Logansport; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill Delores and Glen Haskell, Monticello; his grandchildren, Pam & Mike Ashton, Monticello, Kim Quinn, South Carolina; Beth Maynard and Ashley Maynard, both of Knoxville, TN, Vicki & Alan Sickler, Idaville,Kenta Adkins, Monon, Tony & Cathy Logan, Monticello, Chris & Susan Logan, Virginia Beach, VA, Steve Logan, South Carolina, Jennifer & James McNeany, Delphi, Mark & Sue Kistler, Logansport,and Jeffrey Kistler, Logansport; two sisters, Garnet Kistler Nethercutt, Logansport, and Dorothy Slusser, Logansport; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Seven brothers and sisters and two great-granddaughters preceded in death.

Ethel M. Mund Services for Ethel M. Mund, 78, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Mund died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, in St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis. Born Sept. 24, 1924, in Crown Point, she was the daughter of John and Emelie I. Wente Mathias. Employed at the Logansport State Hospital as a psychiatric attendant, Mrs. Mund retired in 1988. She was a member of the Yorktown Road Church of Christ and of the Golden Agers of the church. Surviving are one son, Karl Jack Mund, Logansport; four daughters, Marie A. Pierce, Elkton, Ky., Martha J. Angelo, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Rebecca L. Deitrich, and Laura B. Bruce, both of Laguna Beach, Calif.; one brother, Mirl J. Mathias, Denver; one sister, Lois A. Leeson, Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. One sister preceded in death. The Rev. Mike Gurganus will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Lake County. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral chapel.

Jarrett William and Jacob Wesley James Private graveside services for infant twin brothers Jarrett William and Jacob Wesley James, sons of Richard M. and H. Elaine Wilson James, Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Baby Walk in Mount Hope Cemetery. Jarrett William died at 7:16 p.m. and Jacob Wesley died at 7:46 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Also surviving are maternal grandparents, Robert and Helen Wilson, Logansport; four brothers, Kevin Good, Daniel James and his wife, Gina, Russell James and his wife, Brandi, and Michael James, all of Logansport; one sister, Christie Rans and her husband, Rick, Lucerne; and several aunts and uncles. The Rev. Scott Ellison of Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church will officiate at the services. There will be no visitation. Fern V. McCutchan, 80, Monticello Fern V. McCutchan, 80, 402 Tioga Road, Apt. 6, died at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003, at White County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Earl Park on April 22, 1922, to Will and Myrtle Shoaf Confer. She was a graduate of Raub High School, and attended Gallagher Business College. She was a bookkeeper for White County Farm Bureau Coop, and retired in 1987. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Unit 81. Survivors include her husband Irvin “Mac” McCutchan of Monticello; sons, Dennis L. (Paula) McCutchan of Monticello and Alan McCutchan of New York City; sisters, Lola Medley of Brookston and Delma “Blondie” Weymouth of North Waterford, Maine; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A son, a daughter and a brother are deceased. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Willis G. Schmidt, 85 Willis G. Schmidt, 85, 1120 N. Main St., died at 10:30 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare. He was born in Indianapolis on Jan. 16, 1918, to Lewis and Mary L. Smith Schmidt. He married Jean Schmidt in Indianapolis on Sept. 19, 1942. She died on Feb. 20, 2002. He attended Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. He served in the Army Air Corps. He was a time study engineer for International Harvester where he worked for 37 years, and retired in 1973. He was a member of Zion Bethel Church in Monticello. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Ron) Wolf of Monticello; sons, Willis D. Schmidt of Venice, Fla., and Dennis L. Schmidt of Lexington, S.C.; half brothers, Elmer (Edith) Griebelbauer of Indianapolis, Arlen Gene (Madonna) Schmidt of Marion, Dale (Clarice) Schmidt of New Castle and M. Wayne (Carolyn) Schmidt of Marion; half sisters, Mary (Charles) Evans of Greencastle and Bonnie Gerber and Joan Heath, both of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A half brother, Richard Griebelbauer, and a granddaughter are deceased. Visitation will be from 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday at Zion Bethel Church, Monticello. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Jeff Messer officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Joan M. Mote, 67, Monticello Joan M. Mote, 67, 11966 Lookout Drive, died at 8:51 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, at her residence. She was born on July 21, 1935, in Peru, to Andy and Mary Wolfe. She married Willie Mote in Champaign, Ill., in 1958, and was married to him for 17 years. He survives. She retired from Hilltop Shell in Delphi, where she was the owner and operator for many years. She was a square dancer in Monticello. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing crafts. She also enjoyed painting. Surviving are a son, Dean Mote of Monticello; brother, Henry (Sue) Wolfe of California; and sisters, Mary Alice Smith and Betty (France) Hileman, both of Peru. A son, Denny Mote, a brother, Bill Wolfe, and a sister, Audrey Wolfe, are deceased. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pittsburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Ida Mae Lipscomb, 75, Logansport, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, in Chase Center. Born in Highgate, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of John Watson and Clara Caynell Crone Carnegie. On June 23, 1951, in Logansport, she was married to Theodore Robert Lipscomb, who survives. Ida Mae was a member of the Fidelity Chapter No. 58 Order of Eastern Star, Amaranth, Niddee Shrine Guild and the I.T.V. of Indianapolis. She was retired from the Logansport Pharos Tribune and had also worked for 12 years at the Kokoko Tribune. Surviving with her husband are one daughter and son-in-law, Clarica and Bruce DeForge, Logansport; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. One daughter, Alice Gaynell Lipscomb, and nine half-brothers and half-sisters preceded in death. Memorial contributions may be made to teh Arthritis Foundation.
