Mr. Reames was born in White County, IN. He was born to Chester Earl and Lillian Stangle Reames. He first married Imogene Suiter on Feb. 25, 1937, She passed away April 22, 1989. He then married Anna Mae Begley on November 23, 1993 in Monticello. She survives. He graduated from East Chicago Washington High School, East Chicago, IN. He worked for RCA as a security chief for 35 years. He attended Monticello Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He had been active with the Boy Scouts. He and his first wife enjoyed doing crafts and traveling to craft shows. Survivors include: Son, Steve Reames of Rensselear: Step Son Donald VanMeter of Monon, IN. 3 Granddaughters, One grandson, and several great grandchildren.

Bonnie L. Farleigh, 72, Logansport, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, in Howard Regional Hospital, Kokomo. She was born Oct. 13, 1931 in Fulton County, to Joseph W. and Myrtle H. Morris Farrer. She was retired from R.B.M. Surviving are one son, Robert Kem Farleigh, Fort Hood, Texas; one brother, Robert J. Farrer, Logansport; and two sisters, Violet Eytcheson, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Hazel Lindley, Rochester. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne E. Farrer, William Bud Farrer, and James E. Farrer; and two sisters, Gladys M. Renkenberger and Betty E. Farrer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church.

Mr. Taskey was born in Clinton County, IN to the Late Fred Walter Taskey and the late Dorothy Ross. He married Betty L. Pearson on Feb. 14, 1953 in Lafayette, IN, she survives. He had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. After coming home from the service, Carl was employed by ALCOA for 10 years. He had been a construction worker for many years working for various companies in the Lafayette area. He was an avid baker, fisherman, mushroom hunter, and gardner. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He had once won the Tallest Sun Flower Contest. He was a member of VFW Post 2231. Survivors include 3 Daughters, Susan Haynes of Monticello, IN, Margo Kinker of Lafayette, Pamela Richardson of Brookston; 2 Sons, Carl Taskey, Jr of Idaville, Russell Taskey of Lafayette; 2 Brothers,Kenny Taskey of Seymour, Ross Carbonelle of Nebraska; 3 Sisters, Wilma Johnson of Oglesville, Loretta Lightfoot of Florida, Lorrine Stingley of Delphi; 13 grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in Death by a son, David Eugene Taskey, and Two Brothers. Memorials may be made to the White County Council on Aging or the VFW Post 2231
Roger D. Hanenkratt

Mr. Hanenkratt was born in Paulding, Ohio, he attended Purdue University prior to joining the Navy in 1942. He served as a F^F fighter pilot aboard the USS Intrepid, Bunker Hill and Bennington aircraft carriers in the Pacific Theater during WWII. On December 30, 1944 he married Ruth Brenneke, and settled in Woodburn. In 1952, they moved to Monticello where he owned and operated Hanenkratt Granin Co. He was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in Monticello. He was also a member of the Tippecanoe County Club, American Legion, Indiana Grain and Feed Association, American Bonanza Society, White county Historical Society and other organizations. He enjoyed traveling and reunions with his VF-8 Navy Squadron. He also enjoyed flying, golfing, watching Purdue sports, growing hostas and mowing on his John Deere. Surviving with his wife are a son R. Daniel Hanenkratt of Monticello, Daughters Phyllis Grennbough Fisher of Lafayette and Carol Yetken of Oak Park, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grove W. and Blanche Brown Hanenkratt, a sister, Thelma Keller. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, the Monticello Public Library or St. Elizabeth Hospice of Lafayette.

Marion R. (Winningham) Martin, age 74, of 556 Courtland Avenue, Lafayette, died in her residence at 4:30 pm Wednesday March 24, 2004. Born in Formosa, Arkansas November 26, 1929, she had resided in Lafayette since May 1991. She married Darrel W. Martin October 30, 1948 in Clinton, Arkansas and he survives. Mr. Marin is retired superintendent of Monroe Community School Corporation in Munice, Indiana. Mrs. Martin was a graduate of Formosa Arkansas High School and Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Arkansas. A homemaker, she previously taught elementary school for 11 years, and was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Phyllis Martin-Simmerman (husband Farrell) of Lafayette; a son, D. Douglas Martin (wife Roxanne) of Lafayette, Indiana, a brother, Thomas J. Winningham (wife Kaye) of Oklahoma; and 2 half brothers. Wayne Cullum (wife Kay) of Marion, Indiana, and Gary Cullum of Logansport, Indiana. Audrey J. Latta Hickman, 81, Logansport, died Monday, March 8, 2004, in Logansport Memorial Hospital. Born August 10, 1922, in Jefferson Township, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Cora Gallaher Latta. On Dec. 15, 1945, in the Evangelical parsonage in Logansport, she was married to John A. Hickman, who survives. She was a member of the Crosswinds United Methodist Church. A homemaker, she enjoyed reading and camping. She and her husband wintered in Texas for about 20 years. For 18 years, she was a member of the Sycamore Sam's Camping Club, Chapter 13. Also surviving are two sons, Richard Hickman and his wife, Barb, Lucerne, Michael Hickman and his wife, Pam, Logansport; one daughter, Marilyn Shanabarger, Logansport; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and five great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

W. Russell "Russ" Gard, 90, of 118 Prophet Drive, West Lafayette, died at 7:53 am Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in St Elizabeth Medical Center, shorly after admission. Born October 25, 1913, in White County, he lived in Tippecanoe County most of his life. He attended Wea High School. He married Mary Jennie Newton on July 6, 1956, in Cumberland. She died April 31, 1990. Mr. Gard worked at Purdue University Physical Plant as a turbine operator for 20 years, retiring in 1978. He had previously worked for the Burlington Railroad. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of West Lafayette Christian Church and American Legion Post 492 in West Lafayette. Surviving is a sister, Ethel Kerkoff of Phelps, Wisconsin, 5 step-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Those desiring may contribute in memoriam to the Tippecanoe County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Rian Addison Brandt, 3, Delphi, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Home Hospital, Lafayette. Born April 27, 2000, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Clint Brandt, of Delphi, and Megan Hammond Brandt, of Delphi. Rian loved to sing, play with her Barbies and enjoyed playing with her two sisters. Surviving with her parents are her paternal grandfather, William Brandt, of Monticello; maternal grandparents, Larry and Chris Hammond, of Lafayette; paternal great-grandmother, Ruby Flynn, of Indianapolis; maternal great-grandparents, Glenn & Mary Hammond, of Stockwell, and Lon and Lauretta Heide, of Lafayette; two sisters, Kayla Brandt and Averie Brandt, both at home; several aunts and uncles, Shane & Belinda Yeakley, of Monticello, Curt & Kim Pattengale, of Colburn, Chris & Ashley Etzel, of Delphi, Brendon & Carrie Bright, of Rossville, Angela Pancake, of Monticello; Bridget Slavens, of Monticello; and Matt Hammond, of Lafayette; and several cousins, Lauren Hailey, Emma, Kayleigh, Kambra, Hunter, Tarin, Celica, Leticia, Shavan, Beau, Olive, Sam, Sidney, Sara, Lindsey, Clarie, Reed, Jake, Cole, Melissa and Courtney. Mrs. Adams was born to the late James Haygood and Elizabeth Dolick Haygood of Monticello. She survives. She married Bradford S. Adams on February 9, 1974 at Yeoman United Methodist Church. She graduated from Twin Lakes High School in 1973. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Idaville Church of God. She was a member of Pheta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed camping, NHRA drag racing. She loved her family and children and her dog Jezzabelle. Survived by 2 Sons, Jason Adams of Indianapolis, IN, Jacob "Jake" Adams of Monticello, IN; 4 Brothers, John Farmer, Ronnie Haygood, James E. Haygood all of Monticello, Terry Haygood of Churubusco, IN. Sister, Donna Dlugosz of Indianapolis, IN. Several Nieces and Nephews. Memorial Contributions my be made to American Cancer Society.
