Wilma L. Teasley, 65, Logansport, died at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, in Memorial Hospital. Born July 16, 1938, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Virgil Sr. and Nina Gordon Grace. She was married to Donald Romig, who preceded in death March 5, 1961. On November 3, 1973, she was married to Reginald Teasley, in Michigan City, who preceded in death Dec. 9, 1992. Wilma was a member of the Elks Auxiliary, the Moose Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She had worked as a sales clerk at D & J Liquors in Logansport. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon L. Conrad, Logansport, and Janet S. Rumrill, Indianapolis; one brother, Virgil Grace Jr., Logansport; one sister, Madeline Fultz, Logansport; six grandchildren, Angie Cone, Shannon French, Jeremiah Ellis, Ashley Ellis, Tony Conrad and John Conrad; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Lelia E. Land, 62, Logansport, died at 7:38 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, in Logansport Memorial Hospital. Born April 29, 1941, in Maine, she was the daughter of Edwin Nelson and Marion Woodsum Berry Haskell. On August 22, 1970, in Loganport, she was married to Steve Land, who survives. Mrs. Land worked for 27 years from 1971 to 2003, as a school psychologist, Title One special education coordinator at Maconaquah School Corporation. Mrs. Land was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the National Education Associations, and the Walton Chapter Order of Eastern Star, where she had served as Past Matron. She enjoyed being active in church organizations and also enjoyed tutoring children at Franklin Elementary School. Surviving with her husband are one cousin, Irene Lynch, Minot, Maine; two brothers-in-law Jerry Land and Jack Cage, both of Houston; two sisters-in-law, Mary Haskell, Indianapolis, and Carrie Johnson, Kokomo; thirteen nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Her parents and one brother preceded in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Roman C. Valleskey

He was born in Manitowoc, WI. He received a Christian education on the elementary, secondary, and college levels. His bachelor and masters degrees were earned from Concordia University, River Forest, IL. An additonal 30 hours of post graduate studies in administration and supervision were completed at the University of Wisconsin and other institutions. Principal, teacher, organist, choir director, and athletic director of several schools and parishes primarily in the Milwaukee area were some of the roles he filled. He was principal of Martin Luther High School in Greendale, WI from 1976-1990. Mr. Valleskey was a member of the Assoc. of the Lutheran Secondary Schools serving as treasurer for four years. He also served as secretary of the Board of Regents of Concordia University, Mequon, WI for many years. In addition, he served as chairman of Principals' and teachers' conferences of the South Wisconsin District. He wass honored for his dedicated service with the Spiritus Christi Award from his alma mater on May 25, 1985. Surviving are His wife Audrey, Daughter Barbara Westfall, Sons James Valleskey and Michael Valleskey.

She graduated from North White High School in 1966. She received her medical tech certification through Home Hospital and Purdue University. She was a member of theSt. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds. She was a member of the American Legion Womens Auxiliary and the VFW. She did volunteer work for United Way, where she worked for Area IV Agency. She contributed to many community service programs. She had also began her medical career at Home Hospital. She later worked at the Family Practice center in Lafayette. She was very creative and enjoyed interior and exterior decorating. She enjoyed floral arranging and doing crafts. She also enjoyed spending time on the farm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the White County Council on Aging. Survivors include: Father, John U. Ferdinand of Reynolds; 2 Sons, Craig A. Rothenberger of Bartlett, IL and Ryan A. Rothenberger of Noblesville, IN.; Brother, Lee Wayne Ferdinand of Reynolds, IN.; 2 Sisters, Leah Ann Marion of Monon and Rose Ann Vaughn of New Whiteland, IN. Preceded in Death by her mother Frances Rose Ferdinand.

Mrs. Fry was a member of the St. James Luteran Church in Lafayette, IN. She was a member of the Elks and American Legion in Lafayette and Florida. She resided in Florida for 17 years, while still living in Monticello as well. She was an avid card player, and loved to gamble. Survivors include a daughter Linda Taylor of Lafayette, a son Larry Fry of Hawthorne, FL. 4 Grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Yvonne E. (Plamondon) Thompson, age 82, of 1402 Cason Street, Lafayette, Indiana, formerly of Stockwell, died at St. Mary's Healthcare Center 9:40 a.m. Monday November 10, 2003. Born in Lebanon, New Hampshire July 24, 1921, she had resided in Stockwell for 53 years. Mrs. Thompson had worked at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for 40 years as a ward secretary, retiring in 1991. She served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II and had attended Miracle Bethel Church at Stockwell. Surviving is a daughter, Patricia "Pat" Thompson Moore of Lafayette.

Evelyn F. Winicki Taylor, 76, of 300 Windy Hill Drive, formerly of 1205 Wells St., died at 11:38 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, in Home Hospital. She had been a patient there for one week. Born May 15, 1927, in Muskegon, she attended Muskegon High School and had lived in Lafayette for 51 years. She married Robert J. Taylor on Aug. 9, 1947, in Muskegon, and he survives. Mrs. Taylor had been a day care provider for 30 years before she retired. Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Janet R. Hale (husband: James) of Lafayette; two sons, James R. Taylor (wife: June) of Lafayette and Jay A. Taylor of Delphi; six brothers, Bernie Winicki (wife: Carol), Jerry Winicki (wife: Victoria), Edward Winicki (wife: Joann), Robert Winicki (wife: Mary Ann), Kenneth Winicki and David Winicki (wife: Virginia), all of Muskegon; and three sisters, Connie Thomas of Muskegon, Margie Dennis (husband: Larry) of Spring Lake, Mich., and Carol Ferlette (husband: Joe) of North Muskegon; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Mr. Stillwell received his master's degree in education at the University of Central Florida. He married Betty A. Read on may 2, 1992 in Buffalo, IN. She survives. His first wife, Oral Stillwell, preceded him in death. Mr. Stillwell retired form the Airforce in 1970 as a Major after 23 years of service. He retired from teaching in Orlando, FL after 14 years. He was a member of the Twin Lakes Southern Baptist Church, where he was active in the Men's Prayer Breakfast organization. He was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed watching sports on Television. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Surviving with his wife are three sons, Harold Jeffery Stillwell (wife: Anna) of National City, CA.,James Stillwell (wife:Diana) of Orlando, Fl., Michael Stillwell (wife:Kristen) of Naples,Fl.; two daughters, Jenny Born (husband: Kevin) of Tavares, FL., and Trena Henke (husband: Carl) of Fort Wayne; five stepsons, Bob Read (wife:Lois) of Union Mills, Steve Read (wife:Tammy) of Granger, Richard Read (wife Debbie) of Las Vegas, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Julie Santos (husband: Pete) of Las Vegas; two brothers, John Herron (wife: Shirley) and Jerry Herron both of Monticello; and a sister, Marlene Read of Palace Heights, Il.;7 grandchildren, 24 step-grandchildren, 16 step great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his loving house cat, Honey. George M. Wetli, 30, of 2321 Apache Drive, died at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, in his home. Born March 5, 1973, in Rensselaer, he attended Tri-County High School and graduated from the Associated Builders and Contractors School. He had lived most of his life in Lafayette. He married Tracie D. Leap on Nov. 29, 1997, in Lafayette, and she survives. For the past six years, he had worked as a HVAC technician for Griffith Electric. He enjoyed mountain bike riding and was an avid sports fan, especially Indiana University, Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears football and Chicago Cubs baseball. Surviving with his wife are a son, Zachary M. Wetli, and two daughters, Alexandria S. and Samantha J. Wetli, all at home; his mother and stepfather, Rosanne and William Coffman of Lafayette; his father and stepmother, Michael and Luanna Wetli of Monticello; two sisters, Jamie Wetli of Lafayette and Jennifer Eberle (husband: Steve) of West Lafayette; and a brother, Steven Wetli of Indianapolis. Also surviving are paternal grandparents, Joanne and Robert Bell of Wheaton, Mo., Arthur Nelson of Hoopeston, Ill, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Linda Leap of Lafayette.
