Willard Grayson Gayheart, 84, Batesville, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at the VA Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. There will be private family services. Burial will follow in Delaware Cemetery in Osgood. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Betty Buell, 73, of Athens, Tenn.
Betty Buell, 73, of Athens, Tenn., died July 15, 2004. She has been cremated.
Betty was born in Greensburg, the daughter of Allie Mae (Thackery) and William McKinley Tellas.
She also had lived in Charlotte and Pickford, Mich., as well as Harlingen, Texas.
Betty has worked at Michigan Telephone Co. and at the School of Cosmetology is Harlingen.
She was preceded in death be her husband, Charles, and a sister, Margie Maurer.
Betty is survived by her companion and caregiver, Clifford Hunn; daughter Barbara (Robert) Thomas of Athens; son Charles (Marcia) Buell of Potterville, Mich.; sisters Shirley Ash and Mildred Boyles of Charlotte; brothers William Tellas of Pickford and Douglas Tellas of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Denise (Thomas) Page of Cleveland, Tenn., Heather (Buell) Ross of Beavercreek, Ohio; Robert Thomas of San Diego; Melissa Buell of Lansing, Mich, ; Marcie (Thomas) Thurman of Athens; seven great-grandchildren; 18 nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice, Charlotte, Mich.; or to the American Lung Association.
Harold D. Lane, 87, Greensburg
Harold D. Lane, 87, Greensburg, died at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2004 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
Born July 11, 1917 in Ripley County, he was the son of J. Roy Lane and Cora Plat. He married Lela (Parks) Lane on Dec. 29, 1940 in Decatur County and she survives.
A farmer, he began farming on the Parks family farm which he now owns and had resided. He was a member of the Milford/Westport Masonic Lodge for 62 years serving as secretary for the Lodge for 45 years, a member of Farm Bureau for 30 years, serving as president for 12 years (1980-92), a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and also superintendent, served on the Co-Op Board for 20 years, worked three years as chairman and served on the Agriculture. Commit-tee. He was also inducted into the Decatur County Ag Hall of Fame, was past Master of the Milford/Westport Masonic Lodge, President of the Decatur County Scottish Rite, past patron of Eastern Star and was still active in the organization and was a member of Clay Township Farm Bureau and was past president. He graduated from the former St. Paul High School.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles Lane of Greensburg; sisters, Geraldine Howard of Greensburg and Thelma Hamer of Indian-apolis; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg. There will be a Masonic Service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Revs. Keith Dover and Rand Hooton officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.

Dorothy Pauline (Schoentrup) Morgan, 85, Batesville, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service on Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville, Fr. Christiaan Kappes officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Batesville. Memorials may be made to Batesville Rescue 10, Gibault School or Decatur County Hospice.
Dana A. Washburn, 21, Greensburg
Dana A. Washburn, 21, Greensburg, died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at his home in Greensburg.
Born Sept. 13, 1982 in Greensburg, he was the son of Mark E. Washburn and Christine McCord Warren.
He married Misty D. Leonard Washburn on Aug. 24, 2002. She survives.
He worked for Hagerty Construction Company in Greensburg and had attended Greensburg Community High School.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Haeleigh Washburn; his father and step-mother, Mark and Sheila Washburn of Greensburg; a mother and step-father, Christine and Arno Warren of Greensburg; a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rick and Sherry Leonard of Greensburg; a grandfather, Omer Washburn of Batesville; a grandmother, Donna S. Washburn of Greensburg; grandparents, Bill and Ruby Murphy of Lawrenceburg; a step-brother, Eric Collins of Florida; a step-sister, Mercedes Eldridge of Greensburg; a sister, Erica Lynn Washburn of Greensburg and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today in Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at at the funeral home, with Rev. Eston Poling officiating.
Burial will be in South Park Cemetery, Greensburg.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
Georgia M. Best, 89, Hagerstown
Georgia M. Best, 89, Hagerstown (formerly of Greensburg), died at 9:40 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2004 at The Waters in New Castle.
Born Aug. 11, 1914 in Anderson, she was the daughter of Dee Foist and Amanda Gooding Foist. She married George W. “Bill” Best on April 25, 1936. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2001.
A retired teller at the former Union Bank and Trust in Greensburg, she was a member of the Burney Baptist Church and a 1932 graduate of Hope High School.
She is survived by sons, Richard L. (Nancy) Best of Hagerstown and Thomas A. (Candice) Best of Blooming-ton; a sister-in-law, Nellie M. Stilwell; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Charles, Ray and Richard Foist and sisters, Maysel Haywood, Rachel Cook and Doris Johnson.
Visitation will be from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, near St. Paul.
Memorials may be made to the Burney Baptist Church.

Rita M. Doll, 84, Batesville, died Friday, July 16, 2004 at The Drake Center in Cincinnati.
Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville with Rev. Christiaan Kappes officiating.
Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Louis School or Oldenburg Academy.
Glynna E. Howard, 75, Greensburg
Glynna E. Howard, 75, Greensburg, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born May 23, 1929 in Ohio, she was the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Spry) Cardinal. She helped with home health care for several years. She was first married to Omer E. Draut and he preceded her in death in 1977. She then married Thomas B. Howard on June 4, 1983 and he survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, James Draut of Cincinnati, OH and Howard “Butch” Draut of St. Louis; two daughters, Carol Combs of Middletown, Ohio and June Payne of Germantown, Ohio; two brothers, Mike Cardinal of Nebraska and Bill Cardinal of Arizona; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. service today at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Rev. Dan Wolford officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
