Telmage “Tim” Clem, Jr., 54, Bloomington
Telmage “Tim” Clem, Jr., 54, Bloomington, died on Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Bloomington Hospital.
Born Feb. 7, 1950 in Patuxent Bay, Maryland, he was the son of Telmage Clem, Sr. and Emo Jean (Adams) Clem. He married Judy (Borders) Clem of Bloomington. She survives.
Tim had attended Indiana University, enjoyed writing and had just recently had his science fiction novel “Katchka Magic” published. He also loved scuba diving and was a Master Scuba Diver.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jessica (Brian) Wampler of Bloomington; brothers, Don (Rhonda) Clem of Newnan, Ga. and Ron Clem of Westport and grandchildren, Brenna, Madison and Cole Wampler.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services are yet to be set.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7363 E. 21st St., Indianapolis 46219.
Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Kenneth W. Cassel, Jr., 78, Batesville, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at his residence.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Weigel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests memorials to be made to Batesville Rescue 10 and Home Health Care or Hospice or Margaret Mary Hospital.
David W. Stanton, 59, St. Paul
David W. Stanton, 59, St. Paul, died at 1 a.m. at his residence.
Born May 11, 1945 in Columbus, he was the son of Mark Stanton and Mildred (Stubbs) Stanton. He married Beverly (Larrison) Stanton on Aug. 29, 1965. She survives.
A lifelong resident of St. Paul, he worked in air conditioning and refrigeration for York International for 35 years and retired in 2003. He graduated from Southwestern High School in 1963, attended Geneva United Methodist Church and was a member of Steamfitters and Pipefitters Local 440 Union of Indianapolis. He is a veteran of the Navy (1963).
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Kevin (Lisa) Stanton of Waldron; a daughter, Shelley (Todd) Glidden of Shelbyville; three brothers, Don Stanton of Edinburgh, Jerry Stanton of Columbus and twin brother Dan Stanton of Edinburgh; sisters, Norma Myers of Danville, Elinor (Harold) Thopy of Shelbyville, Mary (Jim) Brown of Shelbyville, Rebecca Parks of South Lyons, MI and Jane (Keith) Roberts of Edinburgh; grandchildren Kay Ann Meal and Natalie Glidden; grandson, Nathan Glidden and step-grandsons, Grant Glidden and Dylan Routier.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Stanton and brothers, Robert, Joseph and James Stanton.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Mark Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County. Graveside military services will be conducted by local veterans organization. Memorials may be made to Shelby County Hospice or Shelby County Cancer Association.
Josephine H. Byard, 93, Greensburg
Josephine H. Byard, 93, Greensburg, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004 at the Odd Fellows Home in Greensburg.
Born Dec. 9, 1910 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of James Magee and Amanda (Spurling) Magee, and they both preceded her in death.
She married William K. Byard on Feb. 29, 1968 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2002. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by one step-son James E. Byard of St. Paul; one step-daughter Billylyn Pike of St. Paul; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She had lived in the Greensburg area since 1968. Prior to that she lived in Canada.
She was a member of the Burney Baptist Church in Burney.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Hooten officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery in Milford.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southeastern Indiana c/o the funeral home.
Erma E. DeVault, 75, Muncie
Erma E. DeVault, 75, Muncie, died at 6:03 a.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Born Feb. 10, 1929 in St. Paul, she was the daughter of Cecil W. Rutherford and Lavon (Sink) Rutherford, and they both preceded her in death.
She married Harry A. DeVault on Sept. 2, 1951 and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1999.
She was a 1947 graduate from St. Paul High School in St. Paul. She was an accounting supervisor at Indiana Insurance in Indianapolis for 27 years. She retired in June 1985. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in St. Paul and of Eastern Star in Waldron. She lived in Indianapolis the last two years after living in Mesa, Ariz. for 16 years.
She is survived by one daughter Karen Hoyt of Muncie, and two grandchildren, Ellen Powell and Matthew Hoyt, both of Muncie.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. L.J. Poe officiating. Burial will be in Paul Hill Cemetery in St. Paul.
Carol C. Harley, 92, Indianapolis
Carol C. Harley, 92, Indianapolis, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Oct. 4, 1911 in Wichita, Kan., she was the daughter of Harlan T. Davis and Minnie Ruth Shepherd.
She married Clyde Harley June 1, 1929 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1981.
She was a homemaker and artist. She belonged to the Decatur County Oil Painting Group in Greensburg.
She lived in Indianapolis the last six years. During the 1980s and 1990s, she lived in Greensburg. Most of her life was spent in the Buena Vista community in Franklin County.
She was a member of the Buena Vista Christian Church, but more recently a member of the Church of God in Greensburg.
Survivors include two sons Michael Harley (wife Lynn) of Noblesville, Galen Harley (wife Norma) of Glenn Dale, Md.; one daughter, Jeannine Foley (husband Ron) of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law Doloris Harley of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Ron Harley, two infant daughters, grandson Aaron, one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial will take place June 23 at Stipps Hill Cemetery in Franklin County.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the St. Vincent’s Hospice.
