June S. Hutchison, 79
June S. Hutchison, 79, Columbus, died Wednesday, in her home.
June was born Jan. 25, 1925 in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of the late James Nolan and Ruth (Devine) Skinner.
June graduated from Greensburg High School in 1943. She attended New Castle Business College and then worked as a comptometer operator at Charles H. Johnston Co. in Greensburg. She attended Winona College of Photography and worked as a retouch artist in Bedford. She then worked as the office manager for Coca-Cola in Bedford. She then worked for the American Greeting Card Co. in Columbus and was active in craftwork in Columbus. She was a past president of Delta Theta Tau Alumna in Columbus. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Fireside Class in Columbus.
She was married to Robert M. Hutchison on Jan. 12, 1947.
He survives, with daughters, Nancy (Paul) Roberts, Hot Springs, Ark., Suzanne (R.J.) Reynolds, Newburgh, grandchildren, Amy Snider, Stacey Assheur, Allison Roberts, Jonathon Reynolds, Jeffrey Reynolds; eight great-grandchildren; three nephews and several cousins.
She was also predeceased by a sister, Donna Gordon.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Columbus and from from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. services Monday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating.
Burial will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of South Central Indiana.
James W. “Shorty” Peters, 82
James W. “Shorty” Peters, 82, Westport, died Saturday at 12:50 p.m.
Born May 6, 1922, in Princeton, Ky., he was the son of the late Luther P. and Vallie (Harris) Peters. He moved to Columbus in 1955. He had been a Westport resident since 1961. He married Ann E. Boggess on May 4, 1946 in Hopkinsville, Ky. She preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 1999.
James was a World War II Army veteran. He retired form Arvin Industries in Columbus in 1984 and was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Princeton.
Survivors include step-daughter Joyce Boggess Wolterman, Westport; sisters Alice Oliver, Hopkinsville, Ky., Mildred Conley, Princeton, Josephine Oliver, Hopkinsville; three grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, George, Alvin, Calvin, and James Luther Peters, and a sister, Jane Peters.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m., in Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Services will be Wednesday in the funeral home at 10 a.m., Rev. Steve Malone officiating. Burial will be in Union Presbyterian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Westport Volunteer Fire Department.

Marei Frances Pfeifer, 89, of Butlerville, died Wednesday in Mailler’s Merry Manor in Hope.
Services are pending at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, Westport.
Ruth Verkamp, 81
Ruth Verkamp, 81, of Shelbyville, died at 11:30 p.m., in Major Hospital.
Visitation is Friday in Glenn E. George Funeral Home on Friday, 5-8 p.m. Services are Saturday at 1 in St. Vincent Catholic Church, Rev. Paul Landerwerlen officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Rebecca Mae Thomas, 1 day
Rebecca Mae Thomas, one day, died Sunday at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.
She was the daughter of Jeffrey and Stephanie (Cooley) Thomas of Batesville.
Survivors include maternal grandparents Paul and Patricia Burkhart of Batesville, paternal grandparents Ben-nie and Louise Thomas Jr. of New Point, one brother, Royce Cooley of Batesville, aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be today, at 1 p.m. at Rossburg Cemetery in New Point with Pastor Mark Vice officiating. Burial will follow in the Rossburg Cemetery.
Kevin W. Waters, 34
Kevin W. Waters, 34, of Connersville, died Sunday in Franklin County.
Kevin was born on New Year’s Eve, 1969, in Connersville to Charles M. and Wanda M. (Townsend) Waters. He attended Connersville High School. He was employed in the injection molding department of Gecom in Greensburg. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and family, running four-wheelers, fishing, working on cars and trucks and watching football and auto races.
He was predeceased by maternal grandparents Robert and Suddie Townsend; paternal grandparents James T. and Flonnie Waters; a sister, Juanita G. Waters, who died Oct. 14, 2001; and two cousins, Jeff Townsend and Angela Joy.
Besides his parents, Kevin is survived by his daughter, Alexis Renee Waters of Connersville; his girlfriend, Carrie Riehle Maples of Brookville, a brother, Kenneth M. Waters of Connersville; a sister, Katherine S. Waters of Falmouth; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
Visitation is 4-8 today in Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Connersville, where memorial contributions may be made to Alexis. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, Myers Chapel. Kevin’s uncle, Jim Kelley of Louisville, will officiate. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery.
Debra L. Conway, 47
Debra L. Conway, 47, of Greensburg, died Sunday at 7:40 p.m. in her home.
Debra was born May 6, 1957, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Robert Earl and Shirley Ann (Inman) Riley.
She was a waitress at Storie’s Restaurant and sold Mary Kay cosmetics.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Rob E. Conway, a son, Robert L. Conway and a daughter, Jessica Conway, all of Greens-burg, and a son, Damen J. Conway, serving with the U.S. military in Afghanistan; brothers Eddie Riley of Cincinnati and Donald Riley of Greens-burg; a sister-in-law, Kathy (Steve) Phillips of Columbus; and her father-in-law, Robert (Roseann) Conway of Columbus.
She was predeceased by her father.
Visitation is Thursday, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. services in Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, Rev. Earl Hensley officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Decatur County Hospice.
Bonnie Hall, 75
Bonnie Hall, 75, of Greensburg, died at 1 a.m. Monday in her daughter’s home in Laurel.
Bonnie was born on Sept. 13, 1929, in Colman, Ky., the daughter of the late Andrew Denny and Lula Brasher.
Bonnie lived most of her life in West Bloomfield, Mich., and Franklin County, In. She was a member of the Buena Southern Missionary Baptist Church.
In May 1954, she married James Hall. He died on Oct. 19, 1994. She was also predeceased by eight brothers, a sister and two grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by sons Woodson (Denise) Hooker of Flat Rock Mich., and Rocky (Claudette) Hooker of Dear-born, Mich., daughters Nor-ma (John) Davis of Greens-burg, Linda Perkins of Laurel and Mary (Silas) Richardson of Laurel; a brother, Bill Denny of Michigan; sisters Nipper (Phyllis) Nipper and Gynith Hawkins of Kentucky; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are Wednesday, 10 a.m., in Springhill Cemetery, Rob Edwards officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Buena Southern Missionary Baptist Church.
Moster & Cox Mortuary, Rushville, handled all arrangements.

Timothy Caudill, 38, of Osgood, died Saturday.
Visitation is today, 4-7 p.m., in the Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
