Betty Jean Brown
Betty Jean Brown, 64, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at her home.
Mrs. Brown worked for GeCon in Greensburg, Cummins in Columbus, and ITT Industries in North Vernon. She was a graduate of Vernon High School, enjoyed going to yard sales, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana, with Mr. Mike Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials contributions may be made through Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Jennings Villa Children's Home.
Born February 13, 1944, in Hamilton County, Ohio, Betty was the daughter of Herbert and Mary Corya Wilder. She married David Wayne Brown, Sr., on March 1, 1963, in North Vernon, Indiana. He survives.
Surviving along with her husband are two sons, David Brown, Jr. and Michael (Erika) Brown of North Vernon; two sisters, Elizabeth (Ralph) Guenthensperger and Gladys Ragan of North Vernon; six grandchildren, Dustin Brown, Devin Brown, Sydney Brown and Alexus Brown of North Vernon, David Brown III and Chelsea Brown of Greensburg; and one great grandchild, Skyler Brown of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Wilder and James Wilder; and one sister, Helen Washam.
Leroy John Kipper
Leroy "Pete" John Kipper, 61, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 8:57 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2009, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.
Mr. Kipper was a lifelong roofer. He had worked for several years for Son De Construction in North Vernon, Indiana. He attended North Vernon High School, was a member of The Sons of the V. F. W. Post 2021 in North Vernon, Indiana, and The Sons of AmVets Post 7 in North Vernon, Indiana. He enjoyed bingo, playing cards and fishing.
The services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana, with the Rev. Edward Wooddell officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials contributions may be made through Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.
Born July 10, 1947, in Seymour, Indiana, "Pete" was the son of Clarence and Evelyn Shulthies Kipper.
Survivors include three daughters, Bliss (Brent) Sutton, Christy Kipper and Jessica (Kevin) Sharp of North Vernon, Indiana; one brother, James Kipper of North Vernon, Indiana; two sisters, Jane (Raymond) Richart of North Vernon, Indiana, and Susanna Davis of Anderson, Indiana; three grandchildren, Brechelle Sutton, Brendan Sutton and Layne Sharp of North Vernon, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Kipper and Donald Kipper; and one sister, Cassandra Kipper.
Kevin Dale Moir
Kevin Dale Moir, 55, of Indianapolis, formerly of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Moir was employed as an Account Representative for Providence Group from 2005 until the time of his death. He had also worked for five years as a General Manager for John Hubler and seventeen years for Pat Ryan & Associates serving as Vice President.
He was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg, Indiana, Knights of Columbus 2nd Degree and was President of Delta Sigma Pi. He was a 1971 graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus and he received his Masters Degree in 1980 from the Indiana School of Business.
He enjoyed woodworking, poetry, fresh water fishing, fantasy football, Indiana University basketball, music and anything that required working with his hands.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Visitation will be at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, on Friday, January 23, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Pius Catholic Church.
Born June 19, 1953, in Columbus, Kevin was the son of Conrad and Lois Wilds Moir. He married Kris Suttmiller on November 3, 1979, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
Surviving along with his wife are three sons, Sean and Scot Moir of Indianapolis, and Andrew James "A.J." Moir of Bloomington; two brothers, Robin Moir of Ben Wheeler, Texas, and Terrin Moir of North Vernon; one sister, Joy Doup of North Vernon; and two grandchildren, Dakota William Riley Moir of Lebanon, and Bailey Roberts of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Colin Moir.
Judith Kathleen Wilson
Judith Kathleen Wilson, 58, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, collecting dolls, working with flowers, and seeing old movies. She attended North Vernon High School in North Vernon, Indiana.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. just prior to the service on Monday. Cremation is planned.

Born November 4, 1950, in Jennings County, Indiana, Judith was the daughter of Eugene R. and Virginia R. Wire Earl. She married Clifford Wilson on August 5, 1987, in Tennessee. He survives.
Surviving along with her husband is one son, Brent (Lucy) Fording of North Vernon; one daughter, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Loer of Milan; one step daughter, Angie Wilson of Kentucky; two brothers, Steven Earl of North Vernon and Timothy (Mary) Earl of Michigan; one sister, Diana Earl of North Vernon; two grandchildren, Stephanie K. Loer and Sean Loer of Milan; and three step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
David Wayne Brown Sr.
David Wayne Brown Sr., 68, of North Vernon passed away at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Brown worked for North Vernon Forge from 1984 - 1991 as a tool and die maker, and I.T.T. Thompson Industries in North Vernon from 1961-1984. Mr. Brown was a 1959 graduate of North Vernon High School. He was a member of Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite, North Vernon Masonic Lodge #59, Am Vets Post #7 in North Vernon, Moose Lodge in a North Vernon and Eagles Lodge in North Vernon. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandkids.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 30, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with Mr. Mike Brown Officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009 and one hour prior to the service on Friday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Born January 3, 1941 in North Vernon, Indiana, David was the son of Clifford and Dorothy Marie Berry Brown. He married Betty Jean Wilder on March 1, 1963 in North Vernon, Indiana. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2009
Surviving are two sons, David Brown, Jr. and Michael (Erika) Brown of North Vernon; six grandchildren, Dustin Brown, Devin Brown, Sydney Brown and Alexus Brown of North Vernon, David Brown III and Chelsea Brown of Greensburg; and one great grandchild, Skyler Brown of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, eight brothers, Ansel, Harold, Clifford, Eugene, James, Johnny Mack, Howard and Roger Brown, two sisters Juanita Robbins and Olive Brown.
Russell Francis Hanna
Russell Francis Hanna, 68, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away at 6:25 a.m. Monday, February 02, 2009 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Indiana.
Mr. Hanna was born November 9, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana he was the son of Robert James Hanna, Sr. and Mary Frances Caster Hanna.
Graveside services will be held in the Vernon Cemetery at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 with the Rev. Sherman Beville officiating. Arrangements were made by Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.
He is survived by nephew Mark (Judy) Hanna of Noblesville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert James Hanna Jr.
Cheryl Sue Chaney
Cheryl Sue Chaney, 64, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Mrs. Chaney was the Owner of a mail transport route for the United States Postal Service for over 22 years. She was also the Owner of the 50 50 Grill Restaurant in Versailles, Indiana, from 1982 to 1987. Mrs. Chaney was a 1964 graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School in Osgood, Indiana. She was a member of the Sheriff's Posse, the Jennings County Fair Board, Jennings County 4-H, a previous member of the North Vernon Eagles #4097 and she loved horses.
There will be a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2009, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana, with the Rev. Mitch Coggin officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, just prior to the memorial service at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home.
Memorials contributions may be made through Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Born July 6, 1944, in Batesville, Indiana, Cheryl was the daughter of Robert and Mildred Francis Eadler. She married James Chaney on June 25, 1982, in Selina, Tennessee. He survives.
Surviving along with her husband are two sons, Jeffery (Teresa) Dickerson of Leavenworth, Kansas and James (Christine) Chaney of Nashville, Tennessee; two daughters, Lisa (Charles) Duke of Taylorsville, Indiana, and Jamie Cope of Brownstown, Indiana; three brothers, James Robert (Boots) Eadler, Roger (Priscilla) Eadler and Bernard (Theresa) Eadler all of Osgood, Indiana; and one sister, Mary (Ron) Horn of Versailles, Indiana. Seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Francis Wilder
Francis Wilder, 75, of North Vernon passed away at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Wilder retired in 1996 from Arvin's Gladstone Plant as a Quality Control Inspector after 33 years of service. He attended Vernon High School. He was a member of Centerville Baptist Church in Jennings County.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Centerville Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Penegar officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 until service time on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Centerville Baptist Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana.

Born May 18, 1933 in Perry County, Kentucky he was the son of Andrew and Rutha Deaton Wilder. He married Lorena Stibers Wilder on November 14, 1970 in Owen County, Kentucky she survives.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Carl (Debbie) Miller of Mooresville, Indiana, Kevin (Paula) Miller of North Vernon, Indiana and Kirby (Alinda) Miller of Lone Jack, Missouri; one daughter, Judith (Calvin) Schmidt of Sheldon, Missouri; three sisters, Beatrice Tinch of Brookville, Indiana, Louise Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Rose Murphy of Columbia City, Indiana; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Joseph Wilder, brothers, Sherman, Herbert and Hobert Wilder, and a sister Myrtle West.
