Clara Mae Haines

Clara Mae Haines, 93, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon, Indiana.

Clara was born July 11, 1915 in Butlerville, Indiana to her father Lewis Brougher and mother Jenny Woolman. She married Gordon Haines on November 29, 1939 in Bedford, Indiana.

Clara was a homemaker all her life. She was a 1934 Graduate of Butlerville High School and was a member of the Hayden Homemaker Club for 69 years, joining the club in 1940. Clara was also a former member of the Hayden Methodist Church and the Smiling Senior Citizens. Her hobbies included Genealogy Research, needlework, sewing, and crocheting.

Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sorrels officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday or on Friday, April 10, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon, Indiana.

Memorials may be made through Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the Hayden Historical Society.

Survivors include a son, Lewis (Vonna) Haines of North Vernon, Indiana; two sisters, Betty (Charles) Ellercamp and Jeanetta Bush, both of North Vernon, Indiana; two grandchildren, Curtis (Rachel) Haines and Mark Haines, both of North Vernon, Indiana; one great grandchild, Adam Haines of North Vernon, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Lee Haines; and one brother, Lloyd Brougher.

Brayden Keith Eaton

Brayden Keith Eaton, 1 day, passed away at 9:58 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at St. Vincent Women's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Brayden was born at 3:02 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009 at the St. Vincent Women's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is the son of Chris Eaton and Cynthia Cooper.

Services for Brayden will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana with Rev. Anthony Sweeney officiating. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. prior to the services on Saturday. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana.

Memorials may be made through Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the St. Vincent Women's Hospital.

Other survivors are grandparents, Bill and Teresa Cooper and John and Kim Eaton, all of North Vernon, Indiana; great-grandparents, Charles and Joann Cooper of North Vernon, Indiana, Steve and Bonita Chastain of Scipio, Indiana and Hermin and Carylon Stumbo of Ohio; great-great-grandparents, James and Carol Stumbo of Kentucky; aunts, April Eaton, Crystal Cooper and Chasity Cooper; uncles, Christopher Cooper and Jonah Stidham; cousins, Mikayla Stidham and Logan Eaton.

Charles Edward Bailey

Charles Edward Bailey, 48, of North Vernon passed away at 3:29 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mr. Bailey was a self employed Transportation Professional (Car Hauler). He was a 1980 graduate of Jennings County High School, He enjoyed fishing, cars, playing cards, and he especially enjoyed being around his family, friends and kids.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Woodson officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be given through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the American Heart Association.

Born on March 28, 1961 in Seymour he was the son of the late Roy Bailey and Lois Campbell Bailey of North Vernon, she survives.

Surviving with his mother are, brothers, David (Terri) Bailey, Troy Bailey and Thomas (Melissa) Bailey all of North Vernon; sister, Lora (John) Young of North Vernon; 11 nieces and nephews; and 3 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Troy and Dicle Bailey, and Irvin and Viola Campbell.

Brian Lynn Proffitt

Brian Lynn Proffitt, 44, of Paris Crossing passed away at 1:34 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Mr. Proffitt worked as a Machinist for Aisin USA in Seymour for 11 years. Prior to this he worked as a Hammer Operator at Impact Forge for 10 years. He was a 1982 graduate of Greensburg High School in Greensburg, Indiana. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, gardening, watching his son play ball and his daughter in archery.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at the United Christian Church in Paris Crossing with the Reverends Ronnie McKinney and Damon Marling officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Coffee Creek Christian Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the Family for Proffitt Children's Education Fund.

Born May 28, 1964 in Columbus, Indiana he was the son of the late Gerald Profitt and Rita Sue Asher Muckerheide. He married Tina McIntosh on June 22, 1991 in Columbus, Indiana, she survives.

Surviving with his wife are step-father, Mark Muckerheide of Greensburg, Indiana; son, Jerold "J.D." Proffitt of North Vernon; daughters, Chelsey and Kayli Proffitt both of North Vernon; brother, Ryan (Cindy) Muckerheide of Norristown, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Richard Lee Fields

Richard Lee Fields, age 47, of North Vernon, went to be with Jesus his Savior, on Friday, April 3, 2009 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Richard enjoyed fishing, antique cars, spending time with his family, and was very talented in oil painting. Richard was a role model for many with his strong faith and endurance for the Lord. Richard loved visiting and ministering to the church family at Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon. Most of all, Richard dearly loved his Lord.

Richard was born on October 15, 1961 in Seymour, Indiana to parents Wilma (Jim) Forbes, and Roy (Joyce) Fields. His father passed away in 2003. Richard was a 1980 graduate of Seymour High School, and on March 7, 1981, Richard married Marvina "Mel" Gay and just recently celebrated their 28th anniversary. Richard was most proud of their 2 sons, Christopher, age 22, and Timothy, age 18, who both reside at home.

Richard served our country proudly by completing 10 years in the USAF before developing cancer. Richard went on, despite years of struggling health, to complete his associate's degree in business management at Ivy Tech.

Richard was also survived by a sister, Linda (Mark) Everroad of North Vernon, a brother, Kevin (Amy) Rosemeyer of California, and step-brothers, Kevin Engleking and Jamie Forbes of Jackson County, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. There will be a Funeral Service at Bethel Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverends Jon Beck, John Contreras and Joe Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Uniontown Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial may be given through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the American Red Cross of San Antonio, Texas, where the family was supported during cancer treatments, or the Because We Care Ministry at Bethel Baptist Church.

Patricia Ann Meek

Patricia Ann Meek, 59, of North Vernon passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon, Indiana.

Ms. Meek was 1967 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She loved to paint and draw.

There are no services planned at this time.

Born on September 2, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana she was the daughter of Francis F. Meek and the late Mary Ellen Plymate Meek.

She is survived by her father, Francis F. Meek of Sun City Center, Florida; a son Anthony DeMott of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter, Candance DeMott; two brothers, Donald (Rosemary) Meek of Fortville, Indiana and Larry (Susie) Meek of Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister, Mary Ellen Meek.

Thomas Dale Pearson

Thomas Dale Pearson, 62, of North Vernon passed away at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Indiana Heart Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mr. Pearson retired in 2002 from Regal Rug Factory in North Vernon as a mechanic after 34 years. He was a 1964 graduate of North Vernon High School. He served his Country in the United States Army. He was a member of North Vernon V.F.W. Matt Hester Post #2021 and the Bethel Baptist Church in North Vernon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and gardening.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home for expenses.

Born August 19, 1946 in Jennings County he was the son of Carl and Josephine Robbins Pearson. He married Deloris Brison Pearson on June 28, 1986 in North Vernon, Indiana. She survives.

He is survived by his wife, his parents Carl and Josephine Pearson of North Vernon, Indiana. two step-sons, Robert Campbell and Paul (Rhonda) Campbell both of North Vernon, Indiana; three step-daughters, Dale Anna Anthony and Joyce Brooks both of North Vernon, Indiana, Gerry Combs of Columbus, Indiana; sister, Joyce Ann (Howard) Trapp of Hayden, Indiana; twelve grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ibelle Marie Cockerham

Ibelle Marie Cockerham, 59, of North Vernon passed away at 12:16 a.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Cockerham worked alongside her husband in Construction from 1977 till she retired in 1988. She was a, Full-Time Mother and Homemaker. She was a member of American Legion Post #89 in Seymour, Indiana. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, gardening, dancing, remodeling and painting her home and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, and 1 hour prior to service on Thursday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana Burial will be in the Henderson Cemetery in Gnaw Bone, Indiana.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the American Lung Association.

Born August 11, 1949 in Scipio, Indiana she was the daughter of Virgil and Goldie Ann Parker Petro. She married Jack Lynn Cockerham he preceded her in death on April 20, 1998.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald (Jessica) Loyd and Sean Cockerham both of North Vernon, IN.; three daughters, Joyce (Tommy) Lee of North Vernon, IN., Linda (Ben) William of Lexington, S.C., Angela Cockerham of Seymour, IN.; three brothers, Edward (Tina) Petro of Cannan, IN., Roy (Lucille) Petro and Leo (Tammy) Petro both of Scipio, IN.; three sisters, Effie Arneta Petro and Barbara Jo (Larry) Edwards both of North Vernon, IN., and Sandra Sue (Lloyd) Johnson of Franklin, IN.; nine grandchildren, Gabriella and Preston Cockerham of Seymour, IN., Brittani Arnold of Commiskey, IN., Brook Yant of South Carolina, Nolan Loyd, Gretchen and Gregory Lee and Kayti and Bailey Arnold all of North Vernon, IN.; one great grandson, Wyatt William Ross of North Vernon, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Rusty Loyd, brothers, Harlan and Harold Petro and sister, Edith Petro.
