Harold W. Harding
Harold W. Harding, 72, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 at his residence in North Vernon, Indiana.
Born on February 3, 1937 in North Vernon, Indiana he was the son of the late Claude R. and Inez M. Wires Harding.
Mr. Harding retired in 2005 as the Parts Manager, for Poynter's Chevrolet in Seymour, Indiana; he had previously worked for Jack Connaughton Chevrolet Inc., and Webster Chevrolet both in North Vernon, Indiana. Since 1957 he had worked in the Parts Department for these 3 General Motors Dealers. He was a 1955 graduate of North Vernon High School. He attended the First Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana. His biggest enjoyment was working. He loved going to the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR.
Survivors include one son, Steve (Jean Greathouse-Harding) Harding of Vernon, Indiana; one brother, Donald Harding of North Vernon, Indiana; three sisters, Charlotte (Milton) Pickett, of Noblesville, Indiana, Carolyn (Will) Davis of North Vernon, Indiana, and Nancy (Brant) Rusk of Carrollton, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Harding and a sister, Helen Whisman.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 4:00 till 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the First Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana or Donor's Choice of Charity.
Annie Rae Rouse
Annie Rae Rouse, 28, of North Vernon passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2009 at her residence.
Miss Rouse was born in Seymour, Indiana on July 14, 1981 the daughter of Raymond and Kay Corum Rouse.
Miss Rouse had previously worked for Wal-Mart in Seymour, Indiana until November of 1999. She was a 1999 Graduate of Jennings County High School where she was a member of the Jennings County High School Orchestra. Her hobbies included playing the Violin, reading, and spending time on her computer.
Surviving with her parents are three sisters, Candy (Tom) Feiles of Scipio, Indiana, Rachel (Jim) Allen of Nixa, Missouri and Kathy (Dan) Schreiber of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four nephews and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Gary Richenbacher officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the Jennings County High School Orchestra.
Melvin Eugene Hadley
Melvin Eugene Hadley, 76, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at his residence in North Vernon, Indiana.
Mr. Hadley was born on November 5, 1932, in Jennings County, Indiana, the son of James William and Fannie Leasure Hadley.
Mr. Hadley was a P.O.W. of the Korean War during his 3 years serving in the United States Army as a M.P., He served in the Army from July 1950, till December 1953. He later served in the United States Marine Corp for 1 year in 1965
Mr. Hadley retired in 1977 from Craig County Sheriff's Department in Oklahoma after five years. He had previously worked as a Deputy for three years with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department in Texas and three years for the Scott County Sheriff's Department in Indiana. He was a graduate of Vernon High School in Vernon, Indiana. He attended Indiana University for 1 year. In 1974 he attended the Police Academy in Clairmore, Oklahoma. His hobbies included collecting and repairing guns and building small airplanes.
He is survived by his companion of six year, Margie Simmons of North Vernon, Indiana; four sons, Timothy E. (Carol) Hadley and James W. (Sherley) Hadley both of North Vernon, Indiana, Jeff A. Hadley of Greensburg, Indiana and Edward (Angie) Hadley of Shelbyville, Indiana; one brother, Cecil (Joyce) Burge of North Vernon, Indiana ; two sisters, Shirley (Ron) Rivers of Southport, Indiana and Mary Thomas of Seymour, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Jason Ray Hadley of Flager, Colorado, Ryan and Alex Hadley of Shelbyville, Indiana, Melissa (John) Sharp, Andrea Hadley, Jeffrey (Chrishana) Hadley, II, all of North Vernon Indiana, and Tim Hadley Jr., Indianapolis, Indiana; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Carla and Rebecca Hadley; two brothers, Paul and Richard Hadley; four sisters, Betty Helton, Teresa Lee, Louella Tankersly and Nancy Hadley.
Military Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Indiana Veteran's Cemetery Chapel in Madison, Indiana with the Capt. Scott Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Indiana Veteran's Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. Arrangements were made under the direction of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.

Harold M. Burkman
Harold Marlin Burkman, 76, of Elizabethtown, Indiana passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana.
Mr. Burkman was born on April 18, 1933 in Jennings County, Indiana. He was the son of Grover and Minnie Mae Bliton Burkman. He married Betty Alice Westerfield on July 20, 2002 in Columbus, Indiana. She survives.
Mr. Burkman retired as an Engine Tester after 36 years with the Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana. He was a member of East Columbus Christian Church, Diesel Workers Union and Indiana Auctioneers Association. A 1951, graduate of Scipio High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1952 till 1953. His enjoyments included making and collecting canes, auctioneering, doing construction and home improvements with his brothers.
Surviving with his wife are, one son, Kent (Rosie) Burkman of Boca Raton, Florida; three daughters, Brenda (Lynn) Dishinger and Deena (Mark) Dooley both of Columbus, Indiana and Teresa (Randy) Gearhart of Hope, Indiana; two step-sons, Daryn Hurley of Indiana and Ryan Hurley of Columbus, Indiana; five step-daughters, Annette (Jay) Ludlow of McCordsville, Indiana, Gale Bennett of Brownsburg, Indiana, C.J. Mobley of Dallas, Texas, Betty Michelle (J. Kevin) Murray of Connorsville, Indiana, Jamie ( Adam) Hubbard of Franklin, Indiana and Lisa (Tim) Smith of Nashville, Indiana; three brothers, Charles (Mary) Burkman of Scipio, Indiana, Robert Burkman of Elizabethtown, Indiana and Harry (Carolyn) Burkman of Columbus, Indiana; one sister, Ruth Jean Bannister of Kirkland, Indiana; eight grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul and Glen Burkman; and one sister Lora Barringer.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev's Ron Bridgewater and David Armstrong officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Brian Wayne Thompson
Brian Wayne Thompson, 49, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 9:11 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at his residence in North Vernon, Indiana
Mr. Thompson was employed as a purchasing clerk for 14 years at Metaldyne in North Vernon, Indiana. He had formerly worked in oil field demolition. He was a 1977 Graduate of Shelbyville High School in Shelbyville, Indiana. He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Am Vets Post#7 in North Vernon, Indiana. His hobbies included NASCAR, fishing, yard work, Karaoke, and family time.
Born November 5, 1959 in Mattoon, Illinois he was the son of Dale and Helen Hamilton Thompson. He married Shelia Welty on March 26, 1988 at Country Squire Community Church in North Vernon, Indiana. She Survives
Surviving with his wife are his mother, Helen Thompson of North Vernon, Indiana; a son Troy (Laurel) Thompson of North Vernon, Indiana; three daughters, Kendra (Eric) Swander of Van Wert, Ohio, Margot Thompson and Laura Thompson both of North Vernon, Indiana; brother, Marty (Donna) Thompson of Bowling Green, Kentucky; three sisters, Cindy Thompson and Barb Edman both of North Vernon, Indiana and Paula ( Bob) Benton of Oregon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kirsten and Kaleb Swander both of Van Wert, Ohio, Curtis and Isaiah Thompson both of North Vernon, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Thompson.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Sweeney officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery with Military graveside rite by Matt Hester Post #2021 Veterans of Foreign Wars in North Vernon, Indiana.

Clara Mae Guenthenspberger
Clara Mae Cantrell Guenthenspberger, 78, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana.
Mrs. Guenthenspberger was born on January 23, 1931, in Livingston, Tennessee the daughter of Mattie Mae Cantrell. She married Vincent C. Guenthenspberger in 1953. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Mrs. Guenthenspberger, retired in 1987, from Cummins Engine Company, after 14 years. Prior to this she had worked for IIT Industries in North Vernon for 5 years leaving in 1973. After retirement she raised her family. She was a member of North Vernon Church of the Nazarene. She attended Livingston School in Livingston, Tennessee. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by four sons, Ralph E. (Elizabeth) Guenthenspberger of North Vernon, Indiana, Mike C. (Vicki) Guenthenspberger of Seymour, Indiana, Biff Guenthenspberger of Clay County, Indiana and Gary Guenthenspberger of Pendleton, Indiana; three brothers, Roy Cantrell and Clyde (Mabel Cantrell both of Livingston, Tennessee, Odell (Donna) Cantrell of Pendleton, Indiana; two sisters, Betty (Hillis) Oakley and Jessie (Merle) Stover both of Livingston, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Ralph E. Guenthenspberger II and Shawn Guenthenspberger both of North Vernon, Indiana, Major Brian E. ( Melanie) Guenthenspberger of Washington D.C., April (Billy) Anderson, Christopher Guenthenspberger, Tasha (Bill) Clark, Gloria Reber and Rex Chapman all of North Vernon, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren, Cammille Guenthenspberger, Sammuel Guenthenspberger, Ashley, William and Jeffery Anderson, Gabe Guenthenspberger, Michael Clark, Krista Reed and Peyton Zimmerman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and two sisters and granddaughter, Anne Marie Guenthenspberger.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Ramey officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana.
Dennis Lee King
Dennis Lee King, 59 of Scipio, Indiana passed away at 9:10 am on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at his residence in Scipio, Indiana.
Mr. King retired as machine operator and group leader on January 1, 1998 from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana, after 30 years of service. He served from 1968 - 1969 in the United States Army serving in Germany. He was a member of Diesel Workers Union. He formerly attended Brown's Corner Church in Scipio, Indiana. He was a 1968 graduate of North Vernon High School. His hobbies included raising cattle, gardening, fishing, and restoring classic cars.
Mr. King was born on August 16, 1949 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana the son of Malcolm D. and Mary E. Sharp King. He married Elizabeth (Beth) Moor on December 30, 1972 at Scipio Presbyterian Church in Scipio, Indiana. She survives.
Surviving with his wife are his parents, Malcolm and Mary King of North Vernon, Indiana, one son, Brad King of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter, Rachel (Jacob) Wahlman of Scipio, Indiana; one brother, Tom King of North Vernon, Indiana; four sisters, Marsha (J.J.) White of North Vernon, Indiana, Diane (Mark) Spurgeon of Seymour, Indiana, Karen Burgess of New Albany, Indiana, Kathy King of North Vernon, Indiana; and the pride and joy of his life, 3 ½ year old granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Wahlman of Scipio, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana, with Rev. Mitch Coggin officiating. Members of Matt Hester Post #2021, Veterans of Foreign War in North Vernon, Indiana will be giving Military graveside rites.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Melanoma Research Foundation, Scipio Presbyterian Church, Brown's Corner Chapel, Mercy Rescue or Donor's Choice.
