Phillip Warren Fultz

Phillip Warren Fultz, 70, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 11:36 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Fultz was born on July 4, 1939 in Columbus, Indiana the son of Claude Fultz and Mary Hadley Fultz Miller. He married Mossie Newman Fultz on August 26, 1978 in Jennings County, Indiana. She survives

Mr. Fultz worked as a Truck Driver and Dispatcher for the Johnson Oil Company in Columbus, Indiana for 42 years, retiring in 2000. He was a volunteer Fireman for about 15 years and was Deputy Town Marshal for 22 years in Clifford, Indiana. He was a 1956 graduate of Clifford High School in Clifford, Indiana. He was a lifelong member of Clifford Baptist Church. He love getting in his boat and going fishing, and love car racing, he raced cars most of his life in the surrounding area.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Dewey Holman of Madison, Indiana and James Holman and his wife Paula of Versailles, Indiana; three daughters, Lisa Saylor of Columbus, Indiana, Christy Fox and her husband J. D. of Hurst, Texas and Kathy Burton and her husband Jeff of North Vernon, Indiana; one brother, Earl Miller of Edinburg, Indiana; Sixteen grandchildren, Derek Fox of Hurst, Texas, Angel Roman and her husband Daniel of Indianapolis, Indiana, Megan Murray and her husband Dustin and Melisa Saylor all of Columbus, Indiana, Christa Hepburn of Hayden, Indiana, Lora and Tyrone Hepburn, Katheryn Pearson and her husband Tony and Ashly Burton all of North Vernon, Indiana, Alisia Vitale and her husband Danny of Seymour, Indiana, Jamie, Kayla, Dewey, and Jarrod Holman and Billy Holman and his wife Alisha and Carol Jo McCain and her husband Willie all of Versailles, Indiana; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Virginia L. Miller Menser and Marilyn Everroad.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Butch Wooddell officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Hospice of Jennings County.

Teresa Ann Jacobi

Teresa Ann Lacey Jacobi, 41, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 6:05 pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.

Ms. Jacobi was born on June 30, 1968 in Seymour, Indiana to parents Earl Wesley Lacey & the late Peggy Ann Fleenor Lacey. She was a 1987 graduate of Jennings County High School in North Vernon, Indiana.

Ms. Jacobi was a member of Rush Branch United Methodist Church in Jennings County, Indiana. She was employed at Hilex Poly Company in North Vernon since 2003.

The Funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Canary officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, October 30, 2009 and after 10:00 am Saturday. Burial will be in the Rush Branch Cemetery in Jennings County.

Memorials may be made to the Alopecia Foundation or given to the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to establish a trust fund for Ms. Jacobi's children.

Ms. Jacobi is survived by 2 sons-Brandon Jones & Austin Jacobi, both of North Vernon; 2 dau- Brandi Sullivan & Ashley Jacobi, both of North Vernon; father-Earl Lacey of North Vernon; 2 sisters-Pam (Mike) Watkins of Madison, Indiana & Lisa (Tim) Smith of Seymour, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her mother- Peggy Ann Fleenor Lacey & her grandparents.

Donna Cheryl Vance

Donna Cheryl Vance, 39, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 1:07 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Ms. Vance was born on October 3, 1970 in Covington, Kentucky, the daughter of Jeff Cline and Donna Thomas Cauffman.

Ms. Vance was a homemaker. She was a 1988 graduate of Covington High School in Covington, Kentucky. Her hobbies included baking, drawing, listening to music and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her parents, Jeff and Pat Cline of Dayton, Kentucky and Donna and Eddie Cauffman of Rising Sun, Indiana; fiancé Emanuele Douglas, Sr. four sons, William and Dylan White, Ethan and Emanuele Douglas, Jr. all of North Vernon, Indiana; four daughters, Heather Rarey and her husband Joshua of New Whiteland, Indiana, Alex and Ashley White and Samantha Douglas all of North Vernon, Indiana; one brother, Heath Cline and his wife Amy of Dayton, Kentucky; one grandchild, Aliah Hadley of North Vernon, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Jim Terry officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana from 12:00 p.m. until 1:50 p.m.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home for Funeral expenses.

Edith Charlotte Eggers

Edith Charlotte Eggers, 100, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 6:09 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Jennings County Health Care Center in North Vernon, Indiana.

Edith was born on September 20, 1909 in Jackson County, Indiana the daughter of Otis E. and Minnie Pearl Cole Hooker. She married Holbert Harley Eggers on September 20, 1929 in Brooklyn, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1970.

Edith worked for 15 years as a caregiver for Nursing Services in Columbus, Indiana. She had previously worked as a machinist for Link Belt in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1942 until 1956. She was a member First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon, Indiana, where she was a former Choir member. She was a former member of the Foster Grandparent program in North Vernon, Indiana. Her hobbies included bowling, needle crafts, painting, crocheting, sewing and quilting.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Elkins of North Vernon, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Roger Elkins and his wife Diane of Australia, Edward Enders and his wife Patty of Pittsboro, Indiana, Paul Enders of Bainbridge, Indiana, Theresa Sublett and her husband Michael and Patrick Enders all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Donna Jean Brown, Sandy Stidham and Ronald Elkins and his wife Linda all of North Vernon, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Carl and Lewis Hooker and sisters, Jean Enders, Juanita Jones and Lavetta Hooker.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Taylor officiating. Friends may call at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon, Indiana.

Joan Rose Fancher

Joan Rose Fancher, 79, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at her home in North Vernon, Indiana.

Mrs. Fancher was born on June 28, 1930 in Marion County, the daughter of Bernard and Lillian Hayden Gilson. She married John Fancher on January 15, 1962 in Marion County, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1992.

Mrs. Fancher worked for Western Electric, in Indianapolis, Indiana for 30 years retiring in 1982 as an inspector. She was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church in Westport, Indiana, Senior Citizen Center in North Vernon and Milhoussen, Indiana. She enjoyed baking and crocheting.

She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Oldham and her husband, Herbert of North Vernon, Indiana; a brother Leo Gilson and his wife Alice of Jasper, Indiana; a sister, Wilma Morris and her husband George of Maxwell, Indiana; four grand-children, Kenny Oldham and his wife, Gayle of Cadis, Indiana, Michelle Tolbert and her husband Bobby of Trafalgar, Indiana, Brad Oldham and his wife Alicia of Indianapolis, Indiana and Cameron Foster of Muncie, Indiana; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her step-son Michael Fancher.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with Father Jonathan Meyer officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. a Rosary service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Entombment will be at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009.

Robert Lee Roberts

Robert Lee Roberts, 56, of North Vernon, Indiana passes away at 12:19 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Robert was born on August 17, 1953 in Austin, Indiana the son of Walter Lee and Mary Ann Sadler Roberts. He married Peggy Ellen Fleming on February 20, 1982 in Seymour, Indiana. She survives.

Robert was employed for 10 years with the North Vernon Forge in North Vernon, Indiana and prior to this had worked for Vernon Summer Furniture Factory in Vernon, Indiana. He served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a 1971 graduate of Austin High School in Austin, Indiana. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon, Indiana and Alcoholic Anonymous. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar and loved his dog Molly.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Christopher Bowling and Blake Roberts both of North Vernon, Indiana; two daughters, Erin Mitchell and her husband Stephen of Dupont, Indiana and Mackenzie Roberts of North Vernon, Indiana; five brothers, Ronnie Roberts and his wife Kim, Tim Roberts and his wife, Billie, and Jonathon Roberts and his wife Frances all of Seymour, Indiana, Darrell and David Roberts both of Austin, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Amber Turner of Taylorsville, Indiana, Ashlee Bello of Elizabethtown, Indiana, Cole Roberts of Seymour, Indiana, Thomas Bowling of North Vernon, Indiana and Dalton, Ryan and Stephany Mitchell all of Dupont, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Terry Roberts and his grandmother, Elizabeth Spicer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home for expenses.

Ernest Ray Sweet

Ernest Ray Sweet, 72, of Columbus, Indiana, formerly of Scipio, Indiana passed away at 11:01 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Millers Merry Manor in Hope, Indiana

Ernest was born on February 4, 1937 in Harlan County, Kentucky; he was the son of the late Steve C. and Lucy E. Bernard Sweet. He married Beulah Rose Creech on March 6, 1955 in Jellico, Tennessee. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2002.

Ernest retired after 16 years from the Golden Foundry, in Columbus, Indiana. He attended school in Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Browns Corner Chapel in Jennings County, Indiana. He enjoyed reading, old cars, storytelling and collecting coins and knives.

He is survived by one son, James Sweet and his wife Tina of Norwood, Missouri; two daughters, Tina Marie Bush and her husband Gary of Columbus, Indiana, Teresa Ann Lines and her husband Jeff of Grandville, Michigan; two brothers, Daw Sweet of Columbus, Indiana and Steve Sweet and his wife Bobbi of McMinnville, Tennessee; one sister, Lois Neal of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Donna Robinson and her husband Levi of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Paige Sweet of Norwood, Missouri, Katie Harkness and her husband, Adam of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Ami Tincher and her husband, Dave of Elizabethtown, Indiana, Brandon and Joshua Bush both of Columbus, Indiana, Dereck and Lorna Schudy; six great-grandchildren, Bradley, Dylan, Jennifer and Scott Harkness all of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Oliver and Gunner Bush of Columbus, Indiana.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Sweet and half brother, Fred C. Sweet; and a sister, Debbie Bowling.

Private graveside services will be held in Vernon Cemetery.
