Forrest Anthony "Tony" Graham
Forrest Anthony "Tony" Graham, 30, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Graham was born on August 8, 1979 in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Robert and Bonnie Galyen Graham of North Vernon, Indiana.
Mr. Graham had worked for Kromet American in North Vernon, Indiana for one year as a painter. He attended Jennings County High School. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing and listening to music.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Bonnie Graham of North Vernon, Indiana; one son, Brice Anthony Graham of North Vernon, Indiana; fiancé, Betty Collins, of Commiskey, Indiana; two brothers, Jason Dale Graham of Dupont, Indiana and Robert Joseph (Regina) Graham of Paris Crossing, Indiana; one sister, Stella Christine Graham of North Vernon, Indiana; grandmother, Stella Graham of Vernon, Indiana; five nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Forrest and Mary Galyen and grandfather, John Wesley Graham.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Corbin officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Monday, December 21, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home for expenses.
Roger Lynn Wells
Roger Lynn Wells, 53, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009 at his residence in North Vernon, Indiana
Mr. Wells was born on March 28, 1956 in North Vernon, Indiana, the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth Cornett Wells.
Mr. Wells had been employed since 1978 with County Materials in Brownstown, Indiana where he was a loader and manager of Plant operations. He attended Jennings Church of Christ in North Vernon, Indiana for several years. He was a 1976 graduate of Jennings County High School. His hobbies included spending time with his kids, hunting, mud bogging, and four wheeling and playing corn hole in a league at the Am Vets in North Vernon, Indiana.
Survivors include two sons, Alex Wells of Shelbyville, Indiana, Charles Wells of Wentzville, Missouri; one daughter, Ericka (Jim) Nolan of Seymour, Indiana; one brother, Terry (Kathy) Hall of Virginia; two sisters, Barbara (Gordon) McGuire and Janice (Sonny) Kirkham both of North Vernon, Indiana; one grandchild, Tyler Nolan of Seymour, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Pete Barnett.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 4:30 until 8:30 p.m. and after 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Verna Grace Ashby
Verna Grace Ashby, 64, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 5:43 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.
Mrs. Ashby was born on June 22, 1945 in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Stanton John and Margaret Louise Allen Cain. She married Paul Donald Ashby on October 31, 1998 at the Salvation Army Church in Madison, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2008.
Mrs. Ashby retired in 1980 after 13 years in the Dietary Department for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville, Indiana. She had also worked as a cook for Ponderosa Steak House in North Vernon, Indiana. She was a 1964 graduate of North Vernon High School. She was a former member of Am Vets. Her hobbies included camping, sewing and making crafts.
Survivors include her companion, Nolan W. Siebert of North Vernon, Indiana; two daughters, Ginger Siebert of Seymour, Indiana and Cherie (Bryan) Klingler of Columbus, Indiana; two brothers, Stanton (Dorothy) Cain and Edwin Cain both of Scipio, Indiana; one sister, Patricia Allen of Florida; two grandchildren, Derrik and Brooke Waltz both of Columbus, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, George Cain.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana with Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Friends may call at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to American Diabetics Association or the Humane Society.
Lloyd Holton, Sr
Lloyd Holton, Sr., 76, of Butlerville, Indiana passed away at 4:48 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.
Mr. Holton, Sr. was born on September 20, 1933 in Kentucky, the son of Walter and Della Smith Holton. He married Alice Marie Risk on October 17, 1958 in Stanford, Kentucky. She preceded him in death on August 31, 2007.
Mr. Holton, Sr. owned and operated Holton Masonry for several years retiring in 1995. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, cats and his dog, "Dinky".
Survivors include, two sons, Lloyd "Peanut" Holton, Jr. of Butlerville, Indiana, David Allen (Lori) Holton of North Vernon, Indiana; one daughter, Tina (Anthony) Warner of Butlerville, Indiana; four brothers Darris (Betty) Holton, Glen (Susie) Holton and Phillip (Jane) Holton all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Clyde (Jane) Holton of Acton, Indiana; three sisters, Judy (David) Poling of Nashville, Indiana, Debbie (Brandy) Pettigo of Indianapolis, Indiana, Elma Cook of Brown County, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Melissa Yeager, Dewey Holton, Larry Joe (Shelia) Risk, Alyssa (Mitchell) Dixon all of North Vernon, Indiana, Tanya (Brett) Flinn, Zack (Sandy) Sircy and Jesse Sircy all of Oden, Indiana, Patricia Warner of Butlerville, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Larry "Punky" Risk; one daughter, Sandra Sircy; one brother, Ottis Holton; one sister, Jewell McKee.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Otter Creek Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana.

Ruth Olive Moore
Ruth Olive Moore, 85, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 7:59 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.
Ms. Moore was born on June 18, 1924 in North Vernon, Indiana, the daughter of Sam and Blanche Richards Moore.
Ms. Moore had worked all her life on her farm and one year as an attendant for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville, Indiana. She was a member of Butlerville Baptist Church. 1942 graduate of Butlerville High School. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, raising chickens, singing church hymns and babysitting for family.
Survivors include three nephews, Sam (Pat) Grider of North Vernon, Indiana, Fred (Ruth) Grider of Kokomo, Indiana and Raymond Grider of Seymour, Indiana; one niece Mary "Meg" (Allen) Russell of Columbus, Indiana; ten great-nephews and nieces, Thomas, Kimberly and Matthew Grider all of Kokomo, Indiana, Willie Grider and Kristy (Dale) Baker of Columbus, Indiana, Alicia (Matt) Barbour of Elizabethtown, Indiana, Owen Grider of Commiskey, Indiana, Robert and David (Becky) Grider, and A.J. (Shauna) Fields all of North Vernon, Indiana; seven great-great-nephews and nieces, Davina Mercer of Whiteland, Indiana, Christopher Hilderbrand and Timothy Baker of Columbus, Indiana, Savannah and Danika Fields, Emma and Tilden Grider all of North Vernon, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mila Margaret Grider and nephew, Ernest Grider.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Brother Bob Loretz officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Burial will be in the Butlerville Cemetery

Joseph Jacob Unrue
Joseph Jacob Unrue, 89, of Scipio, Indiana passed away at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Keepsake Village in Columbus, Indiana.
Mr. Unrue was born on September 2, 1920 in Jennings County, Indiana the son of Jacob Burdell and Edith Ruby Patton Unrue. He married Florine Helt on December 28, 1942 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. She survives.
Mr. Unrue was a 1938 Graduate of Scipio High School in Scipio, Indiana. He worked for Arvin Industries in Columbus, Indiana for six years and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Scipio Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday School Superintendent, Lay Leader and was a chairman on the Building Committee. Mr. Unrue was also formerly on the Geneva Township Advisory Board and a Township Trustee. He enjoyed traveling and photography.
Surviving with his wife is, one son, Ted( Patty) Unrue of Columbus, Indiana, three daughters, Michelle Unrue and Martha (Keith) Carpenter all of Scipio, Indiana and Judy (Reid) Edy of Wakarusa, Indiana; four grandchildren, Todd (Leslie) Unrue of Columbus, Indiana, Melanie (Joshua) Rosenthal of Louisville, Kentucky, Ryan (Michan) Eby and Rochelle (Dan) Gay all from Wakarusa, Indiana; six great-grandchildren, Lydia Rosenthal of Louisville, Kentucky, Laura, Heather and Titus Eby, Wesley and Wilson Gay all from Wakarusa, Indiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2: 00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Scipio United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Sanders officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Indiana with a Military Graveside Rites by Matt Hester Post 2021 Veteran of Foreign Wars. Arrangements are under the care of Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Jennings County Coordinating Council.
Doris "Melba" Lacey
Doris "Melba" Lacey, 65, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana.
Ms. Lacey was born on June 17, 1944 in Seymour, Indiana the daughter of Melvin Emily and Betty Stidgon Emily Bullard.
Ms. Lacey was a homemaker. She attended Rush Branch United Methodist Church in Jennings County, Indiana. Her hobbies included spending time talking with friends on the phone, crossword puzzles, going to flea markets and yard sales.
Survivors include, one son, Leslie (Angela) Lacey of Dupont, Indiana; three daughters, Melanie Alcorn and Merlina (Danny) Harper both of North Vernon, Indiana and Cheryl (Kevin) Birge of Dupont, Indiana; two brothers, Ross (Betty) Emily of North Vernon, Indiana and Greg Emily of Florida; one sister, Darlene Randall of Seymour, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Kasey) Birge of Lovett, Indiana, Tristan (Chris) Imel of Madison, Indiana, Julie (Shane) Templeton of Scipio, Indiana, Samantha, Ashley and Janee Lacey, all of Dupont, Indiana, Mackenzie Alcorn, and Althea Harper, both of North Vernon, Indiana; five great-grandchildren, Blakelee and Jake Birge of Lovett, Indiana, Skyler and Phoenix Templeton of Scipio, Indiana, and Aubrie McCarty of Dupont, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and step-father, Gilbert Bullard; her companion, David Bliton; one brother, Steve Emily, and grandson Greg Alcorn.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Pat Canary officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Rush Branch Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana.
