Lois Marie Robinson
Lois Marie Robinson, 60 of North Vernon, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in Jefferson County, Indiana as the result of a traffic accident.
Mrs. Robinson was born on July 2, 1949 in Vernon, Indiana, the daughter of Haskell and Lethia Mae Hill Cartwright. She married Michael "Boonie" Robinson on July 3, 1970 at Commiskey Baptist Church in Commiskey, Indiana. He survives
Mrs. Robinson worked for Family & Social Services Administration (F.S.S.A.) Outreach Department at the Madison State Hospital in Madison, Indiana for 30 years. She was a member of Christ Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana and Gold Wing Bikers Association. She was a 1967 graduate of North Vernon High School. Her hobbies included riding motorcycles, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Dawn Marie (Kevin) Koors and Dyan (Kevin) Reed both of Butlerville, Indiana; four brothers, Haskell (Marty) Cartwright of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Tom (Susan) Cartwright, Vernon (Delores) Cartwright and Charles ( Sonja) Cartwright all of North Vernon, Indiana; four sisters, Martha (Dave) Black of Columbus, Indiana, Vivian (Gayle) Jines of San Jacinto, Indiana, Janice (Tony) Lanham and Mary (Don) Ezzo both of North Vernon, Indiana; six grandchildren, Diana Reed of Madison, Indiana, Cassie, Devin and Brandon Koors, Santana and Paul Kevin Reed all of Butlerville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Margaret Jackson and Ida Mae Clerkin.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev's Edward Wooddell and Don Morris officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the Margaret Jackson Scholarship Fund or Christ Baptist Church.
Vernon Shelby Stocks
Vernon Shelby "Verne" Stocks, 85, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at his residence in North Vernon, Indiana.
Mr. Stocks was born on June 6, 1924 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin the son of Arthur Stocks and Edna Ruth Madisen Stocks Prentice. He married Barbara Ellen Betts on June 14, 1957 in Porter, Indiana. She survives.
Mr. Stocks owned S&S; Van Lines a household goods moving company in La Porte, Indiana for over 20 years retiring in 1983; he served from November 1942 until February 1946 as a machinist in the United States Navy; he was a member of 1st Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana; former member of Bethany Lutheran of La Porte, Indiana, Peace Lutheran Church and Pilgrim United Church of Christ both in Port Charlotte, Florida. His hobbies included playing golf, watching baseball, sports, working with his hands, doing yard work and gardening, volunteering his time at several churches.
Surviving with his wife are, three sons, David (Ronda) Stocks and Mark Stocks both of North Vernon, Indiana, Thomas "Wings" (Ani) Stocks of Kapa'au, Hawaii; one brother, Fred "Pete" Prentice of Merrill, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Tricia (Steve) Mintner of Newburg, Indiana, Dawn Stocks and April Braden both of Evansville, Indiana, Casey (Vanessa) Stocks and Brett (Eugenia) Stocks both of Santa Cruz, California, Shawn and Ryan Kidwell of North Vernon, Indiana; eleven great-grandchildren, Sage, Teagan, Kianna and Katelynn Stocks all of Santa Cruz, California, Jacob Anderson, Madison, Stacia and Alissa Mintner all of Newburg, Indiana, Emma Braden, Thomas Stocks and Christian Anderson all of Evansville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Haz Prentice, two half-brothers, Phillip and Jim Prentice, sister, Edna Radtke and half-sister, Florence Prentice.
In keeping with Mr. Stocks wishes cremation was planned and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of the arrangements.
Rev. Kenneth J. Smith, Sr.
Rev. Kenneth Joseph "Ken" Smith, Sr. 69, of Scipio, Indiana passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.
Rev. Smith was born on October 17, 1940 in Roswell, New Mexico. He married Beth Elaine Jones on December 8, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives.
Rev. Smith graduated in 1976 from Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army, serving from 1959 - 1966. He worked for several years as a Rural Mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in North Vernon, retiring in 2004. He was a teacher at the House of Prayer Community School in Elizabethtown, Indiana for 3 years, and was a Pastor at several churches throughout the years. He was a former member and associate pastor at House of Prayer in Elizabethtown, Indiana.
He lived his life for his ministry. "My life was given as an offering to God, and the time has come for me to leave this life. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now a crown is being held for me-a crown for being right with God. The Lord will give the crown to me on that day." II Timothy 4: 6-8.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Kenneth (Vickie) Smith, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Jessica (Dale) Corum of Louisville, Kentucky and Desiree' (Mike) Bennett of St. Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Shelby Corum of LaGrange, Kentucky, David and Kara Hockenbury and Tripp Corum, all of Louisville, Kentucky, Dylan Smith and Grace Rogge-Smith both of Jacksonville, Florida, Maddie and Nate Bennett of St. Charles, Missouri; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with Kens good friend the Rev. Robert Lay officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Friday, February 26, 2010 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Elsie Bernice Bolin
Elise Bernice Bolin, 88, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana.
Mrs. Bolin was born on May 10, 1921 in Tell City, Indiana the daughter of Henry Curtis and Nancy Ann Stowe Bolin. She married Earl V. Bolin in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Mrs. Bolin was a cook for several hotels in the surrounding area. She was a member of Moose Lodge, Am Vets Post #7, Eagles, Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F. W. Ladies Auxiliary all in North Vernon, Indiana, American Legion Post in Versailles, Indiana, Perry County Courthouse Museum and D.A.R. She attended school in Tell City, Indiana. Her hobbies included spending time with her family and genealogy.
Survivors include two sons, Earl C. (Karen) Bolin and David A. Bolin both of North Vernon, Indiana; three daughters, Brenda J. Thomas of Scottsburg, Indiana, Patricia A. (John) Perkins of Las Vegas, Nevada, Judith K. (Timothy) Morgan of North Vernon, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Kathy (Dion) Speer, Kimberly (David) Abell, Jason (Jenna) Hacker, Joyce (Brian) Jines and Regina (Robert) Graham all of North Vernon, Indiana, Carla (Aaron) Gilbert of Hernando, Mississippi, Brandy (Scott) Phelps of Plant City, Florida, Chad (Jennifer) Tyler of Las Vegas, Nevada, Amy (Shane) Wiley of Greenwood, Indiana and Michelle Ross of Butlerville, Indiana; twenty five great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one infant son; brothers, Samuel, Emmet and Joseph Bolin; sisters, Zelda Keiser and Olive Wright.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Darrel Geitz officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until service time on Friday, February 26, 2010. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in the New Cliff Cemetery in Cannelton, Indiana.

Stella Graham
Stella Graham, 89, of Vernon, Indiana passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving Family. Mrs. Graham was born July 14, 1920 in Buckhorn, Kentucky the daughter of James and Mary Johnson. She married John Graham on March 7, 1938 in Madison, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 1969.
Mrs. Graham was a Homemaker and Housewife. She was a member of the Otter Creek Baptist Church in Nebraska, Indiana. Her hobbies included her flower garden, bird watching, playing board games, card games and spending time with her family and her dog "Candy"
Surviving are six Son's James David (Star) Graham, of Lewiston, Idaho, Larry (Frances) Graham of Deputy, Indiana, Alfred Brown (Barbara) Graham of Commiskey, Indiana, Peter Paul (Becky) Graham of Vernon, Indiana, Raymond (Kim) Graham and Robert (Bonnie) Graham both of North Vernon, Indiana; two daughters, Margaret (Richard) Wettrick of North Vernon, Indiana and Nancy (David) Brewer of Scipio, Indiana; 88 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, two sons, Otis Wayne and Timothy Joseph Graham, one daughter, Mary Emma Graham four brothers, Brown, Ott, Lee and Gran Johnson; two sisters, Oma Resleif and Emma Butters and two grandsons, T.J and Forrest Anthony Graham.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev's. Dennis Ferguson and Dan Corbin officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana

James Edward Grimes
James Edward Grimes, 68 of Brownstown, Indiana passed away Saturday morning February 20, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Grimes was born on December 7, 1941 in Hazard, Kentucky the son of Edmond Oliver and Dorothy Marie Tallon Grimes. He married Janice Marlane Dean Hook Jan. 16, 1992 in Vernon, Indiana.
Mr. Grimes was a former Police Officer, licensed Minister, and Firefighter and was currently an Auctioneer. Mr. Grimes served in the United States Army as a Pilot. His hobbies included fishing, playing cards, bowling and a collector of many different things.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter Cheryl Campbell of Campbellsburg, Kentucky; one step-son J.D. (Amanda) Hook of Madison, Indiana; two step-daughters, Paula Marsh of Indianapolis and Becky Hook of Columbus, Indiana; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and one brother, Larry Corya of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stepfather Joe Corya, one son James Franklin Grimes and one brother Frank Corya.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday February 22, 2010 at the Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Dean Combs officiating. There will also be a Memorial service Monday February 22, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Brownstown, Indiana with the Rev. Ben Durr Officiating. Friends may call at the church from 2:30 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.

Ruthanna Brooks Mautino
Ruthanna Brooks Mautino, 76, of Westwego, Louisiana formerly of Jennings County, Indiana passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Mautino was born on December 4, 1933 in Scipio, Indiana the daughter of Lyman and Grace Moreland Brooks. She married Arnold Mautino on May 15, 1953 in Columbus, Indiana. He survives.
Mrs. Mautino worked as a Secretary for the Avondale Shipyard in Avondale, Louisiana for 6 years retiring in 1999; she had previously worked as a Legal Secretary for Charlton -Walker Attorneys; and as a secretary for Cummins Engine Company both in Columbus, Indiana. She was a former member of Browns Corner Chapel in Jennings County, Indiana. Her hobbies included working puzzle books, crocheting and making peanut brittle.
Surviving with her husband are three sons, Robert (Karen) Mautino of Carrierre, Mississippi, Richard (Mariam) Mautino of Avondale, Louisiana and Jerry (Cindy) Mautino of Seymour, Indiana; four daughters, Janet (Warren) Hebert of St. Martinsville, Louisiana; Carol (William) Ose, Seymour, Indiana; Deborah Boudreaux, Westwego, Louisiana; Laura Mautino of Avondale, Louisiana; three brothers, William (Evelyn) Brooks of Seymour, Indiana, Gordon and Lyman Brook of Noblesville, Indiana; Eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Chester, Homer and Noel Clayton Brooks; two sisters, Glenna Mae Irving and Alice Faye Huffman.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Gil Hawkes officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana.
