William G. Menke
Beloved husband of Margaret P. Menke (Mercurio), father of William C. (Mary Lou), Gregory (Jacki) & Gary M. (Etta) Menke. Grandfather of Bill, Chris, Jennifer, Michael & Sean Menke & Lorelei Razeq. Great grandfather of Davis William Menke. Brother of Joseph Menke, Helen Gripkey, the late Herman, Marie & Hannah Menke. Cousin of Johanna Quinlan who was raised by his parents, the late Willhelm & Anna (Orthofer) Menke. He worked the majority of his life in the property management business. Together with his father and other siblings the family owned and operated many prominent hotels including the Burnett House, Club Tavern & Cotton Club and the Menke Hotel all located in downtown Cincinnati. He later worked in residential & commercial real estate development. He and his wife were avid dancers. They won many dance contests over the years in the Tri-State area. Died April 9, 2003; age 90; residence Batesville, IN formerly of Cincinnati, OH. Mass of Christian Burial Sat. April 12, 9:15 AM (Slow Time) at St. Louis Church, Batesville, IN with Fr. Daniel Mahan officiating. Visitation Fri. 5-8 PM (Slow Time) at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH with Fr. Bill Farris O.F.M. officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Jesuit Milford Spiritual Center; 5361 S. Milford Rd.; Milford, OH 45150.

Floyd "Bud" Haessig
Floyd “Bud” Haessig, age 78 of Batesville, IN died Monday, March 31, 2003 at his home in Batesville. born August 2, 1924 in Milan, IN the son of Henry & Carrie Mae (Hillman) Haessig. Mr. Haessig was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church, American Legion & V.F.W. both of Batesville; D.A.V. of Lawrenceburg, IN; 40 and 8 in Versailles, IN; a self-employed contractor and a US Army veteran of WWII. He married Waneta Davis on Dec. 25, 1946 in Batesville. He is survived by his children Lisa Haessig and Michael (Joan) Haessig both of Batesville; grandchildren Michelle Lee, Carrie Wesseler, Jesse Haessig & Phillip Haessig, 7 great grandchildren and sister Ethel Schrader of Batesville. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, sisters Clara Goins and Gladys Melchoirre and brothers Loren, Clayton, Roy, Norman & Henry Haessig. Visitation will be Sat. April 5, 2003 from 10 am - 12 noon followed by services at 12:00 PM all at Batesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Flory officiating. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery with military graveside rites. Memorials may be directed to the Margaret Mary Hospice or Batesville United Methodist Church.
Gerald Thomas Wagner
Gerald Thomas Wagner, age 56 years of Laurel, IN passes away Monday, December 20, 2004 at his home.
born Feb. 3, 1948 in Greensburg, IN the son of Dave & Caroline (Graham) Wagner. He married Elizabeth Joanne Carr in Jellico, Tn. and retired from Hill-Rom.
Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife Elizabeth Wagner, son Dave Wagner of Indianapolis, IN and two grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Tom Wagner.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 23, 2004 from 11 until time of service at 1:00 PM all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Jason William Eggers
Jason William Eggers, age 24 years of Bright, IN passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2004 in Dearborn County, IN.
born April 29, 1980 in Cincinnati, OH the son of Robert & Donna (Johnson) Eggers of Bright, IN. He was a member of the Full Gospel Christian Church in Bright, a 1999 graduate of East Central High School and an electrician for the Local IBW 212.
Jason is survived by his parents Robert & Donna Eggers, sisters Kristen & Caitlin Eggers all of Bright, IN; maternal grandparents Donald & Brenda Johnson of Savannah, GA and paternal grandparents Mary Virginia & late William Eggers of Cincinnati, OH. He will also be missed by several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Funeral Services will be Monday, December 20, 2004; 10 AM at the Full Gospel Christian Church with Rev. Frank Hedger officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 1-4 PM at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
Dorothy "Dottie" Carol Riley
Dorothy “Dottie” Carol Riley (nee Bryant), age 66 years of Harrison, OH passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at her home in Harrison.
born November 12, 1938 in Burlington, KY the daughter of Frank & Alberta (McGuire) Peters of Harrison, OH. She was the Executive Housekeeper at the Airport Holiday Inn for 38 years, graduated from Lawrenceburg High School and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children Kimberly (Donald) Reece of Bright, IN, Terri Buddenberg of Harrison, OH and Tracy (Larry) Davidson of Versailles, IN. Memaw to Casey Shelton, Cristy Shelton, Rachel Wein and Hanna Wein. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Bryant.
Funeral Services will be Friday, December 10, 2004; 2:00 PM at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Winston Shelton officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery, Harrison, OH. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati or Harrison Life Squad.

Marjorie Alice Bates (nee Wooley), age 87 years of Batesville, IN formerly of Sunman, IN passed away Monday, December 6, 2004 in Batesville.
born December 1, 1917 in Franklin County, IN near Mt. Carmel, IN; the daughter of Charles & Mabel (Evans) Wooley. She married Raymond Leonard Bates in Milton, IN on July 21, 1939. She retired as a nurses aid at Fayette Memorial Hospital in Connersville, IN and was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Penntown, IN.
Mrs. Bates is survived by her daughter Wanda Bates of Indianapolis, IN; sons Raymond Bates Jr. of Stewart, FL and Donald L. Bates of Sunman, IN; grandchildren Gina Abney, Dana Winings, Donna Peblor, Kelley Carter & Nicole Shaw; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and sister Thelma Landon of Greenfield, IN. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 9, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Thomas Fehrman officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM all at New Testament Baptist Church in Penntown, IN. Burial will be in Venice Cemetery near Ross, OH. Memorials are suggested to New Testament Baptist Church.
Glenn Richard Meyer
Glenn Richard Meyer, age 86 years of Napoleon, IN passed away Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, IN.
born November 8, 1918 in Batesville the son of William & Emma (Schappert) Meyer. He was employed at Union Furniture for 28 years and then sold Rawleigh Products for 33 years. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Batesville, IN where he was an elder and past Board President, past Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent of the Sunday School Board and the church Mens Brotherhood. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII earning the bronze star and a member of the Napoleon V.F.W. He married Pearl Woliung on June 28, 1947. He and his wife enjoyed many years of sports and sporting events at Jac-Cen-Del High School in Osgood, IN.
Mr. Meyer is survived by his daughter Judy (Paul) Long of Pleasant Plain, OH; sons Ronald Glenn (Linda) Meyer of Cross Plains, IN; David Wayne Meyer of Batesville, IN; William (Ella) Meyer of Batesville, IN; Mark (Nancy) Meyer of Batesville, IN; Ricky (Karen) Meyer of Purcellville, VA and Randy (Linda) Meyer of Milan, IN and 13 grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife Pearl Meyer, he was also preceded in death by his daughter Holly Meyer and two brothers Ellsworth and Ray Meyer.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 8, 2004; 11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ, Batesville, IN with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Burial will be in St. John Church Cemetery with military graveside rites. Memorials are suggested to St. John Church or Napoleon V.F.W.
Etta Belle Fisk
Etta Belle Fisk, age 97 years old, of Batesville, IN, passed away Friday, November 19, 2004 at her home in Batesville.
born on February 12, 1907 to Steven Walter and Nettie Florence (Spegal) Fisk in Fiskburg, KY. She married John Fisk in Covington, KY on March 19, 1926.
Mrs. Fisk is survived by her daughters Emma (Ellis) Mullins of Independence, KY; Goldie (the late Bill) Cumming of Dalhart, TX; Helen (Gilbert) Crowder of New Richmond, OH; Norma (the late David) Beckett of Maysville, KY; Dora (Charles) Jones of Verona, KY; Rose (Lawrence) Mobley of Batesville, IN and Delorus (the late Roger) Adams of Batesville, IN; and her sons Paul (Carolyn) Fisk of Versailles, IN; John Jr. (Dianne) Fisk of Versailles, IN; 30 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons Lloyd & Arthur Fisk and one daughter Doris Fisk; and all 7 of her brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Monday, November 22, 2004 from 4:00-7:00pm at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 11:00am at the Wilmington Baptist Church in Fiskburg, KY with pastor Thomas Fehrman officiating. Burial will then follow in the Fiskburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Camp Chazon Youth Camp or Batesville Rescue 10 through the funeral home.
