Mendy Clark
Mendy Renee Clark, 42, of Vevay, passed away on Saturday, December 8th, 2018.
She was born May 17th, 1976 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the daughter of David and Cynthia Sue (Beckett) Clark.
Mendy was a past member of the Lawrenceburg Eagles. She loved her family especially her children.
She is survived by her father, David Clark; her mother, Cynthia Sue Clark; her fiance, Mike Houseworth; her two sons: Tristan Clark and Ethan Houseworth; by two brothers: David Clark and Joey Clark; by her sister, Amanda Jo (Chris) Clark Bates; by four aunts: Tina Hollenbeck, Tracey Hornschemeier, Jane Davis, and Pam Green; by two uncles: Greg Beckett and Darryl Clark; and by several nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Buddy and Carolyn Beckett; by her paternal grandparents, Everett and Evelyn Clark; and by her aunt, Polly Painter.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 18th, from 5-7 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 18th, beginning at 7 p.m.

Donald Barth
Donald Fred “Don” Barth, age 87, of Vevay, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, December 9th, 2018, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.
Don entered this life on September 23rd, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Louis Fred and Leona (Carter) Barth. He was raised in Cheviot, Ohio and attended the Taylor High School in Cleves. Ohio.
Don was drafted into the United States Army on January 26th, 1952, serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class on January 29th, 1954.
Don was a butcher all of his life since the young age of eight. He was employed for Kroger’s in Silverton, Ohio, Langen Meats in Batesville, Indiana and for Humbert’s Meats in Cincinnati. Ohio. Don was a Charter Boat Captain on Lake Erie for 15 years.
Don was a member of the Local 235 Meat Cutters in Cincinnati. Ohio, Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Truth Apostolic Church in Vevay. Don resided in the Vevay community since 2008. Don will be remembered for his love of fishing.
Don will be missed by his sons: Fred Barth of Lawrenceburg, Indiana and Lester Barth of Vevay; by his grandchildren: Joshua Barth, Becky Hornsby and Jessica Barth; by his great-grandchildren: Isaac, Luke, Logan, Lincoln and Lexi; by his brother, Louis Barth, Jr. of Lima, Ohio; by his sister, Gloria Carter of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Fred and Leona (Carter) Barth; and his nephew, David Barth.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, December 12th, by Brother Anthony Wilks at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Interment followed in the Williamsburg Cemetery, Williamsburg, Ohio.
Friends were invited to call on the family on Wednesday, December 12th, prior to the beginning of the funeral service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Truth Apostolic Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
Joseph ‘Big Joe’ Halloran
Joseph Frank “Big Joe” Halloran, 71, of Rising Sun, passed away on Wednesday, November 28th.
Joe was a devoted husband of Kathy Halloran (Shepherd) for 21 years and preceded in death by first wife Marilyn Halloran (Heim).
He was the beloved father of Missy (Jeff) King, Jimmy (Kristy) and Tony (Andrea) Halloran, Russ (Nina) and Joey (Cason) Whitaker; and the late Joseph J. Halloran.
He was the cherished Papaw Big Joe of 22 grand kids, and for 1 great grandchild, with one on the way. Joe was the dear brother of Sue (Jerry) Hill and the late Butch, Danny and Gillis Halloran and brother in law of Judy and Debbie Halloran, John Heim and Bob (Carol) Shepherd.
He was also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held at the Trinity Christian Center, 18687 Pribble Road, Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on Monday, December 3rd, with services immediately following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Naegele Funeral Home, 3900 Montgomery Rd, Norwood, Ohio, 45212, to help offset funeral costs.
Betty Hughes
Betty Mardelle (Reese) Hughes, age 83, of Florence, Indiana, passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.
Betty entered this life on August 1st, 1935, in Switzerland County, the daughter of the late, J.C. and Ruth (Thomas) Reese. She was raised in Posey Township and was a 1954 graduate of the Patriot High School.
Betty was united in marriage on May 16th, 1959, at the Old Methodist Church in Patriot, to the late, Ralph Hughes. This union was blessed with three daughters: Marlene, Marsha and Melissa.
Betty was a Switzerland County 4-H Leader and attended the Quercus Grove United Methodist Church. Betty worked on the family farm alongside her husband and was a wonderful homemaker. Betty enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in the band, choir and sports and will be deeply missed by her loving family.
Betty is survived by her daughters: Marlene Peters and her husband, Rick of Vevay, Marsha Chase and her husband, Lawrence of Vevay, and Melissa Hughes of Vevay; by her grandchildren: Meghan Kaczmarek and her husband, Anthony of East Enterprise, Kayla Nelson and her husband, Zac of Vevay, Ashley Kitts and her husband, Chris of Vevay, and Lauren Chase of Vevay; by her great-grandchildren: Presley Kitts, Eli Nelson and Jimmy Kaczmarek; by her sister, Billie Green and her husband, Galen of Vevay; by her brother, Chuck Reese of East Enterprise; and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Ruth (Thomas) Reese; by her husband, Ralph Hughes, who died on April 20th, 2003; and by her sister, Myroleen Henry.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 7th, at 1 p.m., by Reverend Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043. Interment will follow in the Rising Sun New Cemetery in Rising Sun.
Friends may call on the family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday, December 7th, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Switzerland County Animal Shelter Endowment Fund, c/o The Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc. Cards are available at the funeral home.
Paul Douglas Colen
Paul Douglas Colen, 54, of Rising Sun, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9th, 2018 at HighPoint Health in Lawrenceburg.
Doug was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on May 31st, 1963, the son of Mary (Pfluger) Colen, of Rising Sun and the late Paul Edward “Ned” Colen. Doug grew up in the Rising Sun community and was a 1981 graduate of Rising Sun High School.
Doug worked in construction and was employed at Fernald in Ohio for several years; and then later at the Aurora Terminal. He was a member of the Aurora Eagles and the Sons of the American Legion at Moores Hill and Rising Sun. Doug was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Doug is survived by his mother Mary Colen, of Rising Sun; by two daughters: Jess Colen Tyson (Jesse), of Moores Hill, Indiana and Nicole Colen of Moores Hill, Indiana; by grandchildren Carter and Emma Tyson; by a sister, Peggy Pierce, of Dillsboro, Indiana; by nephew Shawn Pierce, of Rising Sun; by niece Sarah Pierce, of Greendale, Indiana; and by a great nephew, Ricky Pierce.
Doug was preceded in death by his father Ned Colen and brother-in-law Thomas L. Pierce.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 16th at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, with Brother Nathan Pelehowski officiating. Friends are invited to call on the family on Sunday, April 15th, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
L.W. ‘Buddy’ Foster, Jr.
L.W. “Buddy” Foster Jr., 92, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018.
He was born on May 12th, 1925 in Toulminville, Alabama, the son of the late Lawrence and Thelma (Stewart) Foster.
Buddy was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a 56 year member and past commander of the American Legion Post #239, where he was part of the Color Guard, 40 et 8, and called bingo for over 40 years. He was a founding member of the Lawrenceburg Fire Company #3, member of the Aurora Eagles and was Man of the Year in 2008. He retired from Chevron after 32 years.
He is survived by his two sons: Lawrence William “Bubba” Foster III (Karen) of Cleves, Ohio and Richard Lee Foster (Patrick Lynch) of Spanish Fort, Alabama; by four daughters: Genie Sandford (Tim) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Cecelia “Pete” McCafferty (David) of Daphne, Alabama, Christine Faith Cornett (Dan) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and Carlyn Wilburn (Alan Archer) of Vevay; by one brother, Buford Courtney Foster (Sandra) of Fairhope, Alabama; by 22 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Maxine; one grandson; two great grandchildren; four sisters; and four brothers.
Friends were invited to call on the family on Friday, April 6th, at the Lawrenceburg American Legion Post #239. Funeral services were held at the Lawrenceburg American Legion Post #239, on Saturday, April 7th, with Reverend Mary Taflinger officiating.
Interment followed in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana.

Edward ‘Smokey Joe’ Abrams
Edward Joseph “Smokey Joe” Abrams, age 53, of Hanover, Indiana, passed away at 3:21 a.m. on Friday, April 6th, 2018, at his residence.
Edward entered this life on April 26th, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Edward Joseph Abrams and Roberta (Cox) Moore. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where he attended high school.
Smokey Joe was united in marriage on May 24th, 1997 in Vevay, to Shannan Minch and they shared nearly 21 years of marriage together until his death.
Smokey Joe was employed as a welder for Marlin Barge in Madison for 10 years. He was also employed for Levi in Florence, Kentucky, for three years. Smokey Joe will be remembered for his love of fishing.
Smokey Joe will be deeply missed by his loving wife of nearly 21 years, Shannan (Minch) Abrams of Hanover; his son, Jon Lunsford of Cincinnati, Ohio; his step-son, Cordel Minch of Hanover; his grandchildren: Elijah Alexander, Carter Paul, Addilyne Christine, Serenity Grace, Nicholas Ryder and Hayden Ella; his step father, Thomas Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lynda and Robert “Hardly” McKenzie of Vevay; his brothers: Jesse Abrams and his wife Tammy of Hamersville, Ohio, Robert Lunsford and his wife Brenda of Wilder, Kentucky, and Thomas Moore and his wife Lisa of Hebron, Kentucky; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joseph Abrams and Roberta (Cox) Moore.
Memorial Services were conducted on Tuesday, April 10th, 2018, by Ryan Leach at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043.
A Memorial Gathering was held on Tuesday, April 10th, at the funeral home.
