Mrs. Francis M. Goodwin

BORN: February 11, 1938

DIED: June 18, 2013

LOCATION: Rising Sun, Indiana

Francis M. Goodwin, 75, of Rising Sun, IN passed away Tuesday, June 18th, 2013 at the residence of her son in Burlington, KY. Francis was born in Winchester, KY on February 11, 1938, a daughter of the late Flora (Saylor) and Gilbert Clem. On April 17, 1993 she married Leslie Goodwin, who died on Oct. 18, 2010. She was first married to Charles Sheets who passed away on Jan. 22, 1981. She worked at Shady Nook Care Center in Lawrenceburg, IN., retiring after 30 years as a nurse.

Francis is survived by two daughters, Patty Evans (Gary), of Rising Sun, IN; Anne Kailholz (Steve), of Bright, IN; three sons, Doug Sheets (Sharon), of Rising Sun, IN; Chris Sheets (Tina), of Burlington, KY; Tony Sheets (Barb), of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Ruby Sheets, of Rising Sun, IN; two brothers, Ray Clem, of Cincinnati, OH; Perry Clem, of Michigan and by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Charles Sheets and Leslie Goodwin, by a son Michael Sheets, by a daughter Angela Sheets and granddaughter Gail Sheets.

Funeral Service at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, IN, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 22nd, with Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. Friends are invited to call Saturday 9-11 AM. at Markland Funeral Home. Interment at Rising Sun New Cemetery Rising Sun, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Cindy L. Lindon

BORN: February 28, 1960

DIED: December 13, 2012

LOCATION: Patriot, Indiana

Cindy Louise Lindon, 52, of Patriot, IN, passed away at 7:55 AM, Thursday, December 13th, 2012 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. Cindy was born in New York City, NY on February 28, 1960, a daughter of the late Velma (Blevins) and Jesse Lindon. Cindy is survived by a daughter, Brandy Kelly, of Patriot, IN; two sons Michael Kelly, of Cincinnati, OH; Joseph Rush, of Patriot, IN; by grandchildren Jeremiah Michael Powell & Logan Vonderhaar; also by four sisters and one brother.

Friends are invited to call Tuesday 11AM-1PM at Markland Funeral Home for visitation. At the family's request there will be no funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Mrs. Alberta (Stoops) Turner

BORN: June 9, 1933

DIED: June 10, 2013

LOCATION: Rising Sun, Indiana

Alberta L. (Stoops) Turner, 80, of Rising Sun, IN passed away Monday June 10, 2013 at The Waters of Rising Sun. She was born June 9, 1933 in Switzerland County, the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Kelley) Stoops.

She was raised on McCreary's Ridge in Switzerland County, IN. Alberta was baptized as a young girl at the Florence Church of Christ. She married Lionel E. Turner on Dec. 10, 1949 and they enjoyed 63 years together; she leaves her beloved, Lionel behind. To this union four children were born; Richard (Bev) Turner of Rising Sun, Donna (Leon) Perry of Versailles, Brenda (Poncho) Greene of Cincinnati, and Mark (Gayle) Turner of Switzerland County. She also leaves behind one brother, Arthur (Ruth) Stoops of Switzerland County and eight grandchildren; Tracy (Kevin) Mess, Micah (Justin) Shuey, Chrissy Deck, Brent (Sarah) Perry, Ashley Berkley, Britton Hempfling, Matthew Hempfling, and Nicholas Hempfling along with three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Turner enjoyed her life with her husband, Lionel. She was a homemaker until her children were all in school and then she worked various jobs including the nursing home in Rising Sun from which she passed this life.

Alberta was a loving wife and mother and will be nearly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun on Friday June 14 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will follow on Saturday June 15 at 11:00 AM at the Markland Funeral Home following to graveside at the Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Billie Bob Dilts

BORN: September 16, 1924

DIED: December 15, 2012

LOCATION: Zionsville, Indiana

Billie Bob Dilts (Bill), 88

Bill Dilts, recently of Zionsville, IN; originally of Rising Sun, IN, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012. He was born September 16, 1924 to the late William and Lou Dilts. Bill was born in Rising Sun and he and his wife Rebecca lived in Rising Sun until moving to Zionsville in 2008. While in High School he became the youngest licensed pilot in Indiana. He served in the Army Air corp from 1943 to 1947 and was one of the elite pilots selected to fly the B-29 Super-fortress.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Maxine (Roland), his daughter Kathy Taylor (Jim) of Houston, TX; sons Denny (Mona) and Brent (Dee) of Indianapolis, IN; and Mark (Shawn) of Bloomington, IN. They have 11 grandchildren. Philip Kaczmarek, Lori Stahl, Scott Taylor, Jeremy Dilts, Jacqueline Dilts, Trent Dilts, Chastin Davis, Stewart Dilts, Eric Dilts, Deanna Dilts, David Dilts and Laila Dilts. Also, 12 great-grandchildren, Rebecca Stahl, Michael Kaczmarek, Lindsey Stahl, Kamryn Dilts, Hunter Dilts, Eli Dilts, Kennedy Schwartz, Adelynn Davis, Raelynn Davis, Aidan Taylor, Marley Taylor, and Lacey Taylor.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Velma Baldry.

Services will be held at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, Indiana. Visitation from 5 to 8pm Tuesday, December 18th and services at 11am Wednesday, December 19th.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Rising Sun United Methodist Church or the American Legion, Post 59.

Ronald Dean Cook

BORN: December 22, 1960

DIED: April 23, 2013

LOCATION: Rising Sun, Indiana

Ronald Dean Cook, 52, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 3:13 PM, Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013 at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, IN. Ronnie was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on December 22, 1960, a son of the late Marie (Ryle) and William E. Cook. He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School Class of 1979.
Ronnie was a member of the Rising Sun First Baptist Church. He last worked for Chipman's Maintenance in Aurora, IN and also had worked at Seagram's Distillery in Lawrenceburg for over 23 years. Ronnie enjoyed working on cars, watching game shows and Andy Griffith.

Ronnie is survived by a daughter, Alyssa Cook, of Rising Sun, IN; two sons Brandon Cook, of Rising Sun, IN; Brad Cook (Heather), of Rising Sun, IN; by 2 grandchildren; Braysen and Reese Cook; by special friend Tammy Jones of Rising Sun, IN; by two sisters, Shelia McAlister (Steve), of Rising Sun, IN; Darla Williams (Kenny), of Rising Sun, IN; two brothers, Wayne Cook (Terri), of Mainville, OH; Donnie Cook (Mona), of Rising Sun, IN;

Jeremy Lynn Walcott

DIED: May 13, 2013

Jeremy Lynn Walcott, 35, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 7:45 AM, Monday, May 13th, 2013 at University Hospital, Cincinnati, OH. Jeremy was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on March 6, 1978, a son of Karen (Walcott) and Terry Turner, of Rising Sun, IN. He last worked for Loreal in Walton, KY. He also worked for Haring Contractors in Moores Hill, IN and D&D; Marketing in Greendale, IN.

In addition to his parents Terry and Karen Turner, Jeremy is also survived by two sons Noah Walcott, of Dillsboro, IN; Brendon Clifton, of Rising Sun, IN; his fiancee Angela Ford of Rising Sun, IN and her daughter Mariah Everman, of North Vernon, IN; grandfather Leonard Walcott of Ucipa, CA; grandmother Ida Riese of Rising Sun, IN; a sister, Stacey Turner, of Marion, IN; three brothers, TJ Turner, of Rising Sun, IN; Mark Turner, of Rising Sun, IN; Taylor Turner, of Rising Sun, IN; by uncle and best friend Brian Riece of Cleves, OH; by his special pet "DOG" that was a member of the family; and by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, IN, at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 17th, with Br. Greg Matthew officiating. Friends are invited to call Thursday 5-8 PM. at Markland Funeral Home. Billy Ray Ackman, Sr.

BORN: January 18, 1942

DIED: April 25, 2013

LOCATION: Rising Sun, Indiana

Billy Ray Ackman, Sr. 71, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 25th, 2013 at Hospice of Cincinnati- Blue Ash. Billy Ray was born in Williamstown, KY on January 18, 1942, a son of the late Juanita (Savage) and Lou Ackman. He graduated from Central High School in Cincinnati. In 1980 he married Edna Linda (Brandhorst) Ackman who passed away January 2, 2012. Billy Ray worked as a truck driver for Lennox Trucking in Cincinnati, OH. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars and gardening.

Billy Ray is survived by nine daughters, Renee' Ackman, of Cincinnati, OH; Farrah Ritchie, of Somerset, KY; Beverly (Rob) McGlasson, of Cincinnati, OH; Nickie (David) Hampton, of Cincinnati, OH; Gloria Ackman, of Louisville, KY; Juanita Ackman, of Cincinnati, OH; Melissa Ackman, of Middletown, OH; Deborah Ackman, of Newport, KY; Vicki Ackman, of Dayton, OH; six sons, James Ackman, of Rising Sun, IN; Michael (Laura) Ackman, of Rising Sun, IN; Grant (Jennifer) Ackman, of Cincinnati, OH; Billy Ray (Marie) Ackman, Jr., of New Trenton, IN; Donald Ackman, of Cincinnati, OH; Rickie Ackman, of Hebron, KY; by 38 grandchildren and by many great grandchildren; by two brothers, JD Ackman, of Dayton, OH; Harold Ackman, of CA; by sisters, Linda of FL, Nancy of Dayton, OH, Patricia of Dayton, OH, Betty of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and by a sister, Lillie.

Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH. Family request donations to Ohio County Animal Shelter.

Arron Dale Bills

BORN: September 3, 1957

DIED: May 18, 2013

LOCATION: Moores Hill, Indiana

Arron Dale Bills, 55, of Moores Hill, IN, passed away at 11:23 AM, Saturday, May 18th, at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, IN. Arron was born in Milan, IN on September 3, 1957, a son of the late Mary Ann (Evans) and Harry Bills. On June 4, 1977 he married Diane Field who passed away on September 18, 2002.
On July 25, 2008 he married Kimberly (Money) Bills who survives him. He worked as a fork lift operator at Graham Packaging in Florence, KY.

In addition to his wife Kim, Arron is also survived by two daughters, Christina Money (Lonnie), of Dillsboro, IN; Erin Price, of Lawrenceburg, IN; a step daughter, Sandra Nobbe, of Lawrenceburg, IN; two step sons Steven Nobbe, of Laurel, IN; Kevin Nobbe, of Moores Hill, IN; by 5 grandchildren; Tyler, Casandra, Kaylynn, & Karrissa Money and Rose-Alynn Redding and by step-grandchildren; Corbin & Connor Nobbe; by three sisters, Trina Gray, of Aurora, IN; Gina Vaught, of Lawrenceburg, IN; Carmen Marsh, of Aurora, IN. Arron was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Billy Bills.
