Phillip T. Wheeler
(Died December 13, 2011)

Phillip T. Wheeler, 86, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born on March 25, 1925 to Tom and Georgia (Krause) Wheeler in Noblesville, Indiana.

Phil retired form Firestone where he worked in the accounting department. He was a 1943 graduate of Noblesville High School & Butler University graduate. He was a member of First Christian Church of Noblesville for 75 years; a member of the Noblesville Masonic Lodge #57 & the Noblesville Elks Lodge. Phil proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Thom Wheeler & Tim (Vivian) Wheeler; daughter, Ann (Craig) Silver; grandchildren, Katie (Joe) Torrente, Brianna Wheeler, Kelsey Wheeler, Andrea Green & Colin Wheeler; and great-grandchild, Madelyn Grace Torrente.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia Lee Wheeler and brother, Jack Krause Wheeler.

A memorial service will follow the Masonic service which begins at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am prior the services. Pastor John Davis will officiate. Burial and military rites will follow at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 5635 W 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.

Mary Ann Cherry
(Died December 13, 2011)

Mary Ann Cherry, 85, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on May 10, 1926 to Louis and Mary T. (Fargo) Meyers in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Mary Ann was a homemaker and had also worked as a secretary. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, golf, tennis, bowling, canning, and baking.
She is survived by daughters, Karen C. LaFrance & Mallory A. (Clay) Hildreth, both of Noblesville; son, Brian D. Cherry of Beaver Falls, PA; grandson, Cooper Hildreth; and granddaughter, Kendall Hildreth.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cherry, who passed away in October 2011; and son-in-law, James LaFrance.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Monday, December 19, 2011, in the Daily Mass Chapel at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 East 191st Street, in Noblesville, with Father Chris Shocklee officiating. Inurnment will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.

Amos C. Howard
(January 31, 1922 - November 20, 2011)

Amos C. Howard, 89, of Westfield, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his home. He was born on January 31, 1922 to Jack and Catherine (Harris) Howard in Noblesville, Indiana.

Amos graduated from Noblesville High School and worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service until he retired in 1973. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and was a member of the Tuskegee Airmen. He was also a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Noblesville. Amos was an honorary member of the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville. He served as the Chairman of the Inter-Church Council and also severed on numerous boards at Bethel A.M.E. Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly Howard; sons, Kevin Howard & Denny Howard; grandsons, Kyle Howard, David Howard and Richard Simons; granddaughters, Lenore (Derrick) Williams, Melissa Howard and Nikki Woodson; a sister, Judith (Robert) Butler; eleven great-grandchildren; and twelve nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Newsom.

Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Bethel A.M.E. Church Worship Center, 2200 Sheridan Rd. in Noblesville, with Rev. Mallory Tarrance officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, immediately prior to the service at the Worship Center.

James D. McKinnon
(Died November 21, 2011)

James Douglas McKinnon, 63, Noblesville, died on Monday November 21, 2011, more than 14 years after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. He courageously received three stem cell transplants during this time. He was born August 31, 1948 in Noblesville to Ernest and Vivian (Johnson) McKinnon. They preceded him in death.

Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda (Parks) McKinnon; a son Michael Ballenger of Fishers; and two brothers, Ed McKinnon of Fishers and Terry (Donetta) McKinnon of Pendleton.

Jim was the Executive Vice-President and CFO of Community Bank in Noblesville. He was a graduate of Purdue University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a past president of the Noblesville Sunrisers Kiwanis Club. Jim was an accomplished runner and triathlete before cancer forced his retirement from all sports activities.

A calling for friends and family will be held at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with a memorial service beginning at 7:00pm. Rev. Stan Sutton will officiate.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th floor, Norwalk, CT 0651 or on their website, www.themmrf.org.

Cheryl D. Carl Capps
(Died December 14, 2011)

Cheryl D. Carl Capps, 68, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born on January 30, 1943 to Lonnie and Ina Marie (Crusenberry) Phillips in Lee County, Virginia.

Cheryl was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church & New Light Christian Church, both in Noblesville.

She is survived by husband, Chester Capps of Noblesville; daughter, Lavondia (Barry) Canerday; sons, Lonnie Carl & Jimmie Carl; daughter, Amy (Chad) Hand; step-son, Randy J. (Karla) Capps; step-daughter, Teresa (Frank) Ricketts; brother, Roger (Denise) Phillips; grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Alyssa, Blake, Faith, Paige, Craig & Chase; cousin, Carolyn Scott; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmie A. Carl; sister, Sue Goforth and brother, Daryl Phillips.

Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at New Light Christian Center, 1905 Hannibal Street, in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am prior to the service. Brother Mike Risden and Rev. Daryl Jones will officiate.

Flora Belle Buck
(Died December 15, 2011)

Flora Belle Buck, 90, of Frederic, WI (formerly of Fishers), passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 in Frederic, WI. She was born on June 20, 1921 to Sherman and Ruby (Foster) Ballinger in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her parents precede her in death.

Flora Belle was a homemaker. She and her husband of 71 years, Robert K. Buck, had owned Buck's Resort in Frederic, WI for 20 years.

She is survived by husband, Robert K. Buck of Frederic, WI; son, Arlen (Betty Jo) Buck of Sheridan, IN; daughter, Carol Sue (Mike) Pittelkow of South St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Aaron Buck of Fishers, Cheryl (Shane) Dore of St. Paul, MN & Robert Pittelkow of South St. Paul, MN; and great-grandchildren, Luke & Lance Dore and Rhiannon Pittelkow.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by .

A private burial will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

Rae L. Williams
(Died November 22, 2011)

Rae L. Williams, 92, of Cicero, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. She was born on May 25, 1919 to Otis and Eva (Coverdale) Wiles in Noblesville, Indiana.

She is survived by son, Perry Williams, nephew, Tom Williams, granddaughters, Melissa (Jason) Joslin, Mary Ann (Sam) Haymaker & Billie (Shawn) Kissell, grandson, Andrew Runchel & 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Williams, sister, Mary Faust, brothers, George & Joe Wiles & granddaughter, Melinda Williams.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Crownland Cemetery, in the C. Owen Wood Chapel.

Rae's family would like to thank everyone at Harbour Manor Care Center for their compassion and exceptional care.

Patricia Irene Williams
(May 30, 1936 - November 22, 2011)

Patricia Irene Williams, 75, of Carmel, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at McGivney Health Care Center in Carmel. She was born on May 30, 1936 to William and Esther (Carrig) Stright in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Patricia worked as a Clerk in Retail Sales, and also worked at the Hamilton County Courthouse. She was a member of First Christian Church of Noblesville, 16377 Herriman Blvd., Noblesville, IN 46060. She enjoyed golfing, tennis and bowling, as well as playing cards with her local Bridge Club. She also enjoyed dancing and going to the theatre.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Morton) Crook of Noblesville, IN; son, Mark Morton of South Lebanon, OH; sister, Joanne Rate of Wabash, IN; grandsons, Brendon Crook & Grant Morton; granddaughters, Heather Matthew, Erika Crook and Mallory Morton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
