Kenneth E. Lutz

Kenneth E. Lutz, 61, of D'lberville, Miss., died Sunday, July 5, 1998, in Biloxi, Miss.
He was born in Connersville, where he lived until 1979. He was a resident of D'lberville since 1991.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Lutz; two daughters, Rosemarie Hammond and Heather Beale, both of D'lberville; a son, Jeffrey Lutz of D'lberville; two brothers, Tom of Connersville and David Lutz of Hespiria, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Greita Lutz.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Fred V. Marshall Sr.

Fred V. Marshall Sr., 74, of Brookville died Monday, July 6, 1998, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Franklin County to Andrew and Pauline Peters Marshall, both of whom preceded him in death.
He lived most of his life in Franklin County and was a member of the Logan Creek Pentecostal Church. He was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Philco Ford in Connersville.
Survivors include his wife, Mazie Fabush Marshall, whom he married Dec. 29, 1952; three daughters, Pauline Slater of Brookville and Carol Dickie and Penny Strunk, both of Connersville; six sons, Tom, Fred Jr., Mike, Daniel and Randy, all of Brookville, and Harvey Marshall of Columbus, Ind.; a brother, Henry Marshall of Laurel; five sisters, Margaret Pumphrey of Connersville, Nora Mae Stidham of Dayton, Ohio, Ollie Cole of Hamilton, Ohio, Annie Yarbarough of Springfield, Mo., and Imogene Stidham of St. Louis; and 19 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Logan Creek Pentecostal Church in West Harrison, Ind., with the Revs. Harold Davidson and Dale Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Bernard Hurst Post No. 77 of the American Legion. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.

Albert W. "Bert" Rodgers

Albert W. "Bert" Rodgers, 57, of the Columbia community, died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Vevay to Albert W. and Cecilia Rodgers, both of whom preceded him in death.
He graduated from high school in Vevay and was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Following two tours of duty with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, he returned to Florida, where he was employed on shrimp boats. He was employed at Design & Manufacturing and its successors for 17 years.
He was a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau Association, a former member of the Moose Lodge No. 1160 and an avid outdoorsman and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, the former Judy C. Isaacs, whom he married July 3, 1972, in Texas; two children, Brian W. and Brandy L. Rodgers, both of Connersville; and his father and mother-in-law, Frank and Elberta Isaacs of Connersville.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Dale Cemetery with the Rev. William Lewellen of the Temple of God Church in Richmond officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council. There will be no public visitation.
Showalter-Blackwell Funeral Home, Myers Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ralph O. Singer

Ralph O. Singer, of Brookville died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Brookville Healthcare Center following a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 3, 1925, in St. Leon to Albert and Pauline Telker Singer, both of whom preceded him in death.
He retired from Owens-Corning after 40 years and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1945.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Brookville Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Geiling Singer, whom he married June 28, 1947, at St. Michael Church in Brookville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Leonard Kolter, Mary and Terry Shepard and Patty and Gordon Meyer; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Douglas and Julie Singer, Greg and Debbie Singer, and Jim Singer; a sister, Viola Kaiser of Cedar Grove; a brother, Walter Singer of West Harrison; and 14 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Msgr. Louis Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by Bernard Hurst Post 77 American Legion. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville, where rosary services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.

Helen G. Smith

Helen G. Smith, 71, of Waterloo Road, Connersville, died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Apparently in good health, her death was unexpected.
She was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Celina, Ohio, one of five children of Peter and Iola Kanorr Linn.
A 1945 graduate of Harrisburg High School, she was employed at McQuay-Norris from 1945 to 1947.
She was married to James W. Smith on Aug. 23, 1946, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Paul Erney and they lived in Connersville since that time.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. James (Joan) Snyder of Connersville and Mrs. Garrett (Judy) Crumpton of Hurdle Mills, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Kathy Smith of Connersville and Dwight D. and Annette Smith of Milton; a sister and two brothers, Carolyn Sue Harrison and James R. Linn, both of Connersville, and Norman Duane Linn of Indianapolis; and seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Alvin Wayne Linn; and two grandchildren, Brooke and Blake Smith.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home with Bishop Dan Parker officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.

John W. Howell

John W. Howell, 67, of Cambridge City died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Pinehurst Valley Nursing Center in Centerville following an extended illness.
He was born March 11, 1923, in Manchester, Ky., the son of Levi and Alzy Bundy Howell. He lived in Cambridge City for three years.
He was a retired construction worker for National Concrete Products of Plymouth, Mich. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany and Alaska and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of South Lyon, Mich.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Diana Servello Howell; three daughters, Desiree and Danielle Howell, both at home, and Betty Monk of Plymouth, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Guanna McGowan of Detroit; a stepson, Gerald Servello of Walled Lake, Mich.; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Earl and Iona Howell of Dublin, A.T. and Louise Howell of Richmond, Burton and Hilda Howell of Indianapolis, B.R. and Helen Howell of London, Ky., and Vernon Howell of London, Ky.; and five grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Madgeline Miller, and a brother, P.J. Howell.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin with Pastor Jim Slaven officiating.
