Christina Braun
Dale resident Christina Dawn Braun died Friday, June 6 at Owensboro Mercy Hospital in Owensboro, Ky. She was 31.
Christina was born March 16, 1972 in Owensboro, Ky., to Gary W. Brown and Sheila Hill. She was a member of Bakers Chapel United Methodist Church in Degonia Springs. She married John M. Braun on March 31, 1997 at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg. Christina was employed by Strategic Partnership of Owensboro, Ky.
She is survived by her husband, John M. Braun of Dale; two sons, Alex Edward Braun (age 4) and Zachary Ryan Braun (age 1), both at home; her parents, Gary and Sheila Brown of Tennyson; two sisters, Angela Chamlee of Boonville and Melissa Scales of Lynnville; one brother, Timothy Wayne Brown of Tennyson; her grandparents and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 11 at 1 p.m. at the Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory in Dale. Burial followed in the Dale Cemetery.
Helen L. Stevens
Boonville resident Helen L. Stevens died Sunday Dec. 22 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. She was 80.
Helen was a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church and a member of the Boonville Homemakers Extension Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Ernest E. Stevens, in 1970 and a son, Richard Stevens, in 1972.
Helen is survived by a daughter, Bettye Sandage of Boonville; three sons, Jon Stevens of Oakland City, Donnie Gosk of Belvidere, Ill., Jerry Greenlee of Madisonville, Ky.; a sister, Sally Hess of Chandler; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday Dec. 27, at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel, with Rev. Gilbert Powell officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.
Memorials may be made to the New Hope General Baptist Church.
Orin C. Welborn Jr.
Santa Claus resident, Orin C. Welborn Jr., died Tuesday, March 4 at Deconess Hospital.
Orin served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 61st Armored Infantry Battalion, serving in Central Europe. He married Ruth Curshellas on February 15, 1947. They were married 47 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth A. Wellborn Jan. 15, 1994 and his sister Joyce Baker of Chicago.
Orin is survived by: two daughters, Patricia Gates of Dale, Barbara Gates of Gentryville; four sisters, Alene Miles, Gloria Linhart, and Barbara King all of Chicago, Ill., Marian O'Rourke; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, March 7 at Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory in Dale with burial in Garrison Chapel Cemetery.
John B. Hardesty
Former Dale resident John B. Hardesty died Wednesday, April 23 at Memorial Southwest Hospital in Houston, Texas of natural causes.
John was born Feb. 8, 1948 in Louisville, Ky. to James Leo Hardesty and Elizabeth Feland Hardesty. He graduated from Brescia College in Owensboro, Ky. and he was an accountant in Texas.
John is survived by his parents, James and Elizabeth Hardesty of Dale; a brother, Mike Hardesty of Dale; four sisters, Mary Niehaus of Santa Claus, Margaret Beard of Carmel, Janet Reust of Lafayette and Cathy Kochis of Huntsville, Ala. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Andrew Hardesty and Francis Leo Hardesty.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 28 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Center in Dale. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Fr. Jim Sauer officiated.
Bertha Ellis
Boonville resident Bertha E. Ellis died Tuesday, June 10 at the Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville. She was 92.
Bertha was born May 31, 1911 to George W. and Mary M. (Angel) Ellis in Ohio Township in Warrick County. She was a graduate of Newburgh High School and of Lockyears Business College in Evansville. She retired from Floyd Lemmons Trucking as a bookkeeper. Bertha was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church of Boonville.
She is survived by a sister-in-law and nine nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel with Rev. Janice Heseman officiating. Burial followed in Sharon Cemetery in Newburgh.
Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse Association Hospice.
Mary Seibert
Chandler resident Mary L. Seibert died Tuesday Dec. 24 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. She was 70.
Mary was a member of Grace Community Church in Chandler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Seibert in 1991.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Marcia Kiegel of Chandler; two sons, Bill W. and Mike Allen Seibert both of Chandler; five sisters, Jeanette Houchin of Newburgh, Maxine Stacy of Chaffee Mo., Marjorie Kelley of Texas, Ruth Hill of Boonville, Phyllis Kelley of California; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and Nephews. Funeral services were Friday Dec. 27 at Koeher Funeral Home-Perigo Chapel handled arrangements. Shiloh Cemetery in Folsomville.
Lois Flint
Former Boonville resident Lois Flint died Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Redlands Healthcare Center in Redlands Calif. She was 84.
Lois lived in the Boonville area before moving to Redlands Calif. in 1999 to be close to a nephew. She had lived at Mission Commons for the three years prior to moving to the Sunkiss Board and Care in Colton, Calif. Lois was born May 14, 1918 in rural Warrick County to Sylvester C. and Anna L (Walters) Mitchell. Lois was a graduate of Boonville High School, Class of 1936 and a graduate of the University of Evansville in 1971. She was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, Boonville and a 60-year member of the Boonville Eastern Star #450 where she was a past matron and a member of the Amaranth. While living in California, Lois attended the First Presbyterian Church in Redlands. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Homer J. Flint in 1995, and a son, David Flint.
Lois is survived by: several nieces and nephews, including Susan Hunt of Newburgh, and Glenn Mitchell of Redlands, Calif.
Memorial services were Sunday, March 9 from Main Street General Baptist Church. A private burial was in Center Cemetery near Boonville.
