Dee Burkhart
Chandler resident Dee "Sonny" Burkhart died Sunday, Feb. 24 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. He was 75.
He attended the Methodist Church in Hatfield. He retired from Alcoa after 24 years of service. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Union Local #104. He was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Lee Jamison Burkhart in 1969 and a brother, Jeremy in 1971.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Evelyn Burkhart of Chandler; five daughters, Teresa Paul and Vicky Gammon, both of Chandler, Linda Neville and Lana Labhart both of Newburgh, and Sandy Morrison of Marengo, Iowa; four sons, Steve Burkhart of Albion, Texas, George Smith of Evansville, Bryan Smith of Chandler and Rick Smith of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Don Burkhart of Evansville; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Koehler Funeral Home-Perigo Chapel with burial in James Parker Cemetery in Hatfield with Military Rites by the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services.

George Gross
George W. Gross, 76, died November 8 at Heartland of Centerburg Care Center, after a long illness.
A retired attorney, George earned his B.S. degree from the Ohio State University, L.L. B. at Franklin University, at Franklin University and was awarded a Juris Doctor degree by
Capital University. He was a trial lawyer, practicing in municipal, county and state courts in Ohio. In 1960 he was admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of the United states. George was a member of the Board of Governors of the Columbus Bar Association, lectured for the Ohio Trial Lawyers Association, and taught in the paralegal program of Capital University. George was a decorated combat veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations in Belgium and Germany. George had great enthusiasm for living. He learned to sail at Culber Military Academy as a youth and as an adult sailed Buckeye Lake, Lake Erie, the Bahamas and in the Virgin Islands. He was commissioned as a Commander in the Ohio Naval Militia was licensed by the Coast Guard as a commercial marine captain. He enjoyed physical exercise regularly at the Central YMCA's Business Men's Club and was a team player with the Golden Buckeye Tennis Club. He belonged to many organizations, including Lawyer's Club, Buckeye Lake Yacht Club, Buckeye Sports Car Club of America and enjoyed the Columbus Symphony the Columbus Museum of Art and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra. George was a major blood donor for the American Red Cross and read every week for the Central Ohio Radio Reading Service for the blind. His greatest community commitment was to the unique Charity Newsies, selling papers on his corner every December and also making visits to the homes of children who received Newsie assistance. George was a Master Mason of Columbus Lodge #30 F&AM; Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and the Aladdin Temple Shrine. He was a riding member of the Aladdin Temple Morgan Horse Patrol unit and participated in regional and International parades and drill team competitions . As an active member of Broad Street Presbyterian Church, George served as trustee, deacon, usher and volunteer staff during his 52 years there. George touched many lives; he was a loyal friend, unfailingly cheerful. Even a life so full seems too short. He will be missed by his many friends here and in Key West, Fla. where he has resided since his retirement. Whatever else he enjoyed, George dedicated himself most of all to being husband, father and grandfather to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rae; his living family of son, Kelly, daughter-in-law, Robin and granddaughter Alexandra Gross; step-grandson, Michael Murphy; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Glenn Roberts; son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Dawn and grandson, Gregory Gross and devoted mother-in-law, Jean Behagg.
The Boonville VFW Post #3418 conducted military graveside rites with Mr. Jeff Jackson playing taps on the bugle.
A memorial graveside service was held Saturday, June 8 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.
Rev. William Gordon officiated.

Richard Belford
Former Boonville resident Richard F. Belford died on Aug. 4 at the Village of Westerville in Westerville, Ohio. He was 84.
He was born on Dec. 5, 1917 in Somerset, Ohio. Richard attended Indiana University in Bloomington and graduated from Cincinnati University, Cincinnati, Ohio with a degree in Mortuary Science. He was the owner and operator of Belford Flying Service of Perry County, Ohio and owner and operator of Chute-Belford Funeral Home in New Lexington, Ohio. He retired from Belford Tire Center, Inc., of Westerville, Ohio. Richard was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Westerville, Ohio, a WW II Disabled Veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, the Rotary Club and the Lions Club.
Richard is survived by a daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Belford of Fayetteville, N.C.; sons, Richard F. Jr. and Diana Belford of Westerville, Ohio, Jeffrey and Connie Belford of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Gregory J. and Diane Belford of Cedar Park, Texas and John Christopher and Carol Belford of Gahanna, Ohio; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Eberhard of Boonville, Barbara and Thomas Tucker of Greensboro, N.C. and Betty and Charles Moser of Tarpon Springs, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cele Lennon Belford and a daughter, Mary Ellen "Molly" Belford O'Kane.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Westerville, Ohio on Thursday, Aug. 7 with burial at the New Lexington Cemetery in New Lexington, Ohio.
Arrangements were handled by the Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville, Ohio and Bradley's Colonial Chapel in Boonville handled local arrangements.
Evertt Roettger
Chandler resident Evertt F. "Ace" Roettger died Sunday, Nov. 3, at 6:25 p.m. at his home. He was 74.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; a son, Duane Roettger of Newburgh; two daughters, Ginger Wilcox of Boonville and Terra Nord of Chandler; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; three sisters, Gladys Lunkenhiemer of Evansville, Grace Schleg of Evansville and Wanda Harness of California; a brother, Elmer Roettger of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 7, at Koehler Funeral Home-Perigo Chapel. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by the Retired Veterans Memorial Club of Evansville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vista Care Hospice.
Hermena Miller
Somerville resident Hermena F. Miller died Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Owensville Convalescent Center. She was 93.
She is survived by two sons, Earl of Lynnville and Hilbert of Mackey; three grandchildren, Debra and Daniel Miller and Diana Reinert; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 13 at Mackey Church of the Nazarene, with burial in Townsley Cemetery.
Jon Feldmeier
Lynnville resident Jon W. Feldmeier died Sunday, Feb. 24 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. He was 57.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Broshears) Feldmeier; a son, Kevin "Soap" Feldmeier; a daughter, JoAnn Feldmeier; all of Lynnville' two brothers, James "Babe" Feldmeier, also of Lynnville and Gene Feldmeier of Linton; a sister, Doris Ann Feldmeier of Boonville and three grandchildren, Cody Helms, Daren Feldmeier and Jeniece Helms.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 28 at Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home with burial in Lynnville Cemetery.
The Rev. Ray Crane officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lynnville Park Campground and Playground Fund.
Thomas Jamison Sr.
Newburgh resident Thomas L. Jamison, Sr. died Tuesday, June 11 at his residence. He was 70.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
Osiris Meyer
Infant Osiris Meyer died Aug. 14 at the Women's Hospital in Newburgh. Survivors include parents, Jesse Meyer and Heather Strode of Evansville; maternal grandparents Robin Strode of Chandler and Rick Strode of Evansville; maternal great-grandparents Mary Strode of Evansville and Anna and Don Trafford of Chandler; paternal grandparents Burnell and Linda Meyer of Evansville and paternal great-grandparents Lucille Stephenson of Evansville and Frances Meyer of Missouri; two uncles.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 17 at Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler. Koehler Funeral Home, Perigo Chapel handled arrangements.
