EULOGY BY REBECCA
Martin Marcel Preisler, Born November 5th 1922, Cluj/Transylvania, Romania
My father was the son of Adalbert Preisler and Hermina Lowinger. He had a sister Judith. His parents and sister died in the Holocaust of World War 2. He was the sole survivor of his immediate family. However, born of tragedy would be the man of heroic action the world should know and never forget. A man of pure passion that will carry on in the heart and soul of each of his children.
He achieved what most people can only dream of. He found the best prize of life is never to forget.
He will live on forever through the five children he loved more than anything in this world Thomas, Shoshana, Daniel, Rebecca and Nicholas and through the love of his beloved and devoted wife Dr. Sylvia Yvette Preisler.
His family was his world. His world was devoted to his family. My father loved with nothing less than everything in his heart, he wouldn't have had it any other way. Anything that made his children happy made him happy. With kindness and generosity of heart and soul. He loved hospitality and was a generous host to everyone who came to our home, giving ample food and drink and making sure everyone had their fill of good food and laughter. He loved animals, dogs, the birds, chipmunks and squirrels, all animals gave him such joy. He had a passion for the State of Israel and inalienable right to defend itself. He fought to survive and taught each of his children how to live their life with unapologetic passion. Never forget those you love. Never forget who you are. Never stop loving. It is life itself. He fought the good fight and his legacy of love and doing anything and everything it takes to fight for what is right and what you love will never be forgotten.
I will honor my whole life what you taught me, I promise to never forget your honor and valiance in the face of adversity.
To my father, I will love you forever, to my Dad I promise my heart will never forget.
Your little princess will always be yours to keep.
