Robert Sisavath
Robert "Robbie" Sisavath, 13, of 545 Lincoln St., Wabash, IN, died Sept. 16, 2002 at Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. He was born at Indianapolis, IN Feb. 14, 1989 to Sengechanh Keungkeosiene and Carla Sundheimer Moore. He attended O.J. Neighbors Elementary School of Wabash.
He is survived by his mother, Carla Moore of Wabash, and father, Sengchanh Keungkeosiene of St. Petersburg, FL; his stepfather, James L. Moore of Wabash; brothers Travis (Susie) Boggs and Trent Boggs, all of Wabash, Mark Moore and Justin Moore, both of Peru, and Steven Sisavath of Milwaukee, WI; sisters Sandy and Sarah Sisavath, both of Milwaukee, WI, and Shea Moore of Peru, IN; grandparents Carl and Lucy Sundheimer of Urbana, IN, James and Barbara Moore of Wabash, and grandmother Sene Keungkeosiene of Laos.
Funeral service was held Friday, Sept. 20, 2002 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel, Wabash, with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Burial was in the Falls Cemetery of Wabash.

Jerome P. Stephens
Jerome Paul Stephens, 63, of 826 Mill St., Wabash, IN, died Tuesday, Sep. 17, 2002 at his residence. He was born Mar. 5,. 1939 at Lackey, KY to Gaylord and Maudie (Smith) Stephens. He married Martha Hall in Wabash on March 31, 1961.
He was retired from Celotex, Lagro in 2000 after 37 years. He was a member of he Colerain Street Holiness Church of Wabash.
Survivors include his wife; sons Rick (Kris) Stephens of Wabash, and Stan Stephens of Fort Wayne; a grandson, Jonathan Stephens of Wabash; brothers Roy and Bobby Stephens, both of Wabash, an Roger Stephens of Battle Creek, MI; and sisters Mrs. Grant (Phyllis) Hill and Mrs. Ray (Jenny) Webb, all of Wabash; a sister, Shelby Jean Stephens, preceded him in death.
Services were held Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002 at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel with Rev. Mike Weaver officiating. Burial was in Friends Cemetery of Wabash.

Bob Wood
Bob Wood, 63, or 50 N. Main St., Laketon, IN, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born in Marion, IN, and formerly worked at the Owens-Illinois Glass factory in Gas City. Known as the "rocking chair man", he sold rocking chairs, doll furniture, wood crafts and crocks. He was the owner of Woods' Wood in Laketon, IN. He also loved to fish.
He was president of the Pleasant Township Association in Laketon. He had been employed at General Motors, Marion, for over 32 years as a steel metal inspector. He also had worked at the Saturn Plant in Tennessee in 1991. He helped record music for bands and was known as "soundman". He also liked to write and read poetry.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Laketon; his mother Marion-Wood Smith of Jonesboro, IN; a daughter, Kendra Wood of Indianapolis; sons Kendall (Karen) Wood of Indianapolis, Kevin (Kim) Wood of Kyle, Texas, and Jonathan Carroll of North Manchester; brothers John (Skip) Wood of Brown County, Indiana, and Bill (Jan) Wood of Anderson, IN; four grandchildren Acacia, Amanda and Summer Wood and Ryan Green. His father, Everett Wood preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, of 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Chaplain David Jones officiated and burial was in Park Cemetery of Fairmount, IN.

Wilma Lee Cullers
Wilma Lee Cullers, 54, of 103 Blue Sky Drive, Lafonaine, IN, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at her home. She was born May 30, 1948 at Kentucky to Robert Dyer and Tressie Minix Christman, both deceased. She married Steven L. Cullers in Wabash on Nov. 16, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wabash Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Steven of Lafontaine; daughters Tina Marie Brown and Lisa Lynn Bernero, both of Plymouth, IN; a son, Rick E. Smith of Culver, IN; a step son, Phil J . Cullers of Peru; three grandchildren; a brother Ellis Dyer and sisters Gloria Stone and Cleda Sudbrack, all of Portage, IN.
Burial and graveside service was held Monday, Sept. 23, 2002 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, IN with Pastor Douglas K. Phillips officiating. Memorial guestbook for Wilma can be signed on-line at grandstaff-hentgen.com. Arrangements were by Grandstaff-Hentgen, Manchester Avenue Chapel, Wabash.

Richard H. Zubowski
Richard H. "Zeke" Zubowski, 73, of 505 E. Ninth St., North Manchester, IN, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, IN. He was born Feb. 19, 1929 at LaSalle, IL to Constantine and Veronica (Evans) Zubowski. He married Donna J. Prentice on Sept. 23, 1950, and she survives.
He was a member of St. Robert's Catholic Church, North Manchester, and was a retired engineer for Eaton Controls Co., for 42 years. He was a 1945 graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School, and attended LaSalle-Peru Junior College and graduated from Bradley College. He was a member of Izaak Walton League, Liberty Mills, Knights of Columbus of Wabash, and Northeast Indiana Trout Association.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Richard H. Zubowski of North Manchester; daughters Becky Timoteo and Mrs. Steve (Roberta) Rohrer, both of North Manchester, Veronica Zubowski of Marion, IN and Mrs. Preston (Mary) Moore of Mt. Vernon, OH; a brother, Edward Zubowski of LaSalle, IL and a sister, Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Stauch, of Pulaski, TN. He also had nine grandchildren.
Prayer service was held Saturday, Sept. 28 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, followed by Mass at St. Robert's Catholic Church, with Father Ron Ramenaden officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association, or Wabash County Cancer Society, c/o DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary.

Raymond B. High Jr.
Raymond B. High Jr., 62, of 3575E 900N, North Manchester, IN, died at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002. He was born June 20, 1940 at Elwood, IN to Raymond and Esther (Hoback) High Sr. He married Colleen Reiken on Oct. 14, 1976, and she survives.
He was employed in maintenance at Hi-Grade Egg, North Manchester.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Rock (Belinda) Foust of North Manchester, Jack Foust of Claypool, Wade (Lea) High of San Diego, CA and Dan (Kathleen) Barger of Baltimore, MD; daughters Mrs. Paul (Janet) Daniel of Servia, IN, Mrs. Randy (Jody) Long of Martinsville, IN and Mrs. Joel (Lori) Johannsen of Lafayette; two sisters, Connie Woodrum and Linda Murray, both of Elwood, IN; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Private funeral services were planned. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Glen E. Oswalt
Glen Edward Oswalt, 93, a resident of 1339 Amanda Ct., Wabash, IN, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 at Wabash Skilled Care Center of Wabash. He was born June 6, 1909 in Wabash County to Arie and Barbara (Milam) Oswalt. He married Josephine Keppel in Wabash County on Sept. 9, 1934. He was a member of Wabash First United Methodist Church. He was a 1928 graduate of Chippewa High School in Wabash County.
Glen owned and operated Oswalt-Thomas Sales & Service in Wabash, retiring in 1972, and managed a Goodyear Store in Wabash 18 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James (Glenda) Spiece of Fort Wayne, IN. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Oswalt and a sister, Bertha Eakright.
Funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel, with Pastor James MacDonald officiating. Burial was in the Falls Cemetery of Wabash.

Frank Frantz
Frank Frantz, 97, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community and formerly of Laketon, IN, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 at Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester. He was born June 23, 1905 at Pleasant Township, Wabash County, IN to Esli and Ida (Ulrey) Frantz. He married Mary S. Renicker on March 18, 1926 and she survives. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
He was a member of the Old German Baptist Church of North Manchester.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and daughters Mrs. Herb (Doris) Shambarger of Roann, IN, Mrs. Bob ( Eileen) Sampson of Ft. Myers, FL, Mrs. Clement (Virginia) Skiles of Flora, IN, Mrs. Lonnie (Rebecca) French of Port Lavaca, TX; a son, Joe F. (Leemarilyn) Frantz of Roann; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. One grandson and two great-grandsons are deceased.
Funeral service was held at the Old German Baptist Church, North Manchester, Monday morning, Sept. 30, 2002 with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial was in Old German Baptist Cemetery of North Manchester.
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Beverly A. Fakes
Beverly A. Fakes, 72, of 6651 W. Grimme Lane, Claypool, IN (Yellow Creek Lake), and formerly of Elwood, IN, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at her residence. She was born at Elwood, IN Sept. 25, 1930 to Ralph Milton and Dakota (Gillum) Dennis. She married Robert Norman Fakes Oct. 16, 1949, and he survives.
She was a member of the United Christian Church of Elwood, IN. She was owner of the former Fakes Bakery in Elwood, and was a cook in the Elwood Elementary Schools. She was also a cook at the Steer Inn of Silver Lake, IN.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Dennis (Betty) Fakes of Marion, IN; daughters Sandra K. Knauer of Warsaw and Mrs. David (Roberta Ann) Boblitt of Marathon, FL; a half brother, Michael Kriggel of Elgin, TX and a sister, Helen House of Anderson, IN; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One brother preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, Silver Lake Chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Robbins officiating. Graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 2, at 3:30 p.m. in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall, IN.
Preferred memorials are to the American Lung Association or American Heart Association.

Howard F. Metzger
Howard F. Metzger, 84, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, and formerly of rural Bippus, IN, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002 at Peabody Healthcare Center. He was born March 25, 1928 in Huntington County, IN to Benjamin S. and Georgia E. (Feeterhoff) Metzger. He married Mabel Irene Shaffer June 5, 19040, and she preceded him in death May 31, 2002.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, North Manchester. He was a 1936 graduate of Chester High School, North Manchester, and was employed as a dairy farmer for more than 50 years.
Survivors include a son, Max Metzger of Bippus; daughters Mrs. Paul (Edith) Whitesell of Huntington; Carolyn Metzger of North Manchester; and Mrs. Fred (Mariann) Riddle of Albion, IN; a half sister, Freda Carns of Buffalo, NY; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. A daughter, Joanna Metzger, died in 1988.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel, with Pastor Randell Webb officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery of Servia, IN.
Preferred memorials are to Wabash County Cancer Society.

K. Marcile Schetzsle
K. Marcile Schetzsle, 87, formerly of 740 Manchester Ave., Wabash, IN, died Monday, morning, Oct. 14, 2002 at Rolling Meadows Heaolthcare Center of Lafontaine, IN. She was born July 11, 1915 at Wabash, IN to Murland and Laua (Morris) Hipskins. She married Leonard G. Schetzsle in Wabash on June 11, 1943; he died June 28, 1987.
She was the office supervisor at Hamer Printing in Wabash 25 years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wabash, serving as treasurer for 25 years. She was a former member of the Wabash Business & Professional Women's Club 25 years, and the Wabash Chapter of A.A.R.P.
She is survived by a son, LaVon (Ellen) Way of Claypool; two grandsons - Pastor Gregory A. Way of Waco, TX and Anthony K. Way of Wabash; and a granddaughter, Yvonne M. Biehl of Twelve Mile, IN; six great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, and two step great-great grandchildren. A brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen, Manchester Avenue Chapel, Wabash. Funeral service will take place at the Manchester Ave. Chapel Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. and burial will be in Falls Cemetery of Wabash.
