Arthur W. Garrison
Arthur W. Garrison, 69, of 13326N 100E, North Manchester, IN, died Saturday, March 27, 1999 at Wabash Skilled Care Center, Wabash, IN. He was born Dec. 20, 1929 in Wabash County to Dwayne and Oma (Hiner) Garrison, both deceased. He married Patricia Hathaway Nov. 24, 1950 in North Manchester.
Mr. Garrison was a 1949 graduate of Central High School in North Manchester. He was a member of the N. Manchester United Methodist Church. He was well known in the North Manchester community working many years with his father at the Liberty Mills Sale Barn until beginning his own business as a painter. He was also founder and co-owner of The Village Hamlet Corp. until 1998.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons - Timothy of Noblesville, IN, James of Lanesville, IN and Rodney of Carmel, IN; three granddaughters - Michelle Rich of Lanesville, IN, Minette Agnew of New Albany, IN and Hannah Garrison of Carmel, and grandson Alexander Garrison of Carmel; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel of North Manchester, with the Rev. William Hemmig officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, N. Manchester.
Preferred memorials are to North Manchester United Methodist Church. Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Marvaleen B. Huddleston
Marvaleen (Brady) Huddleston, 99, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, and formerly of 79 N. Cass St., Wabash, IN, died Sunday, March 28, 1999 at Peabody Health Care unit. She was born at Wabash, IN to Oscar and Maude Ellen (Reid) Brady. She married Del H. Huddleston Jan. 20, 1919 and he preceded her in death May 15, 1966.
She was retired from General Telephone after 49 years employment. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Wabash.
Graveside service was held Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at Falls Cemetery of Wabash. The Rev. Robert Schmeiser officiated.
Eddingfield-DeLaughter Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials are to the Oncology Department of Wabash County Hospital.
Lola Ann Wilcox
Lola Ann Wilcox, 46, of 494 N. Miami St., Wabash, IN died Saturday, March 27, 1999 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1952 at Paintsville, KY to Mitchell T. and Eva (Trusty) Berry. She married Ricky Wilcox July 5, 1998 in Wabash.
She lived in Wabash most of her life, and attended the Grant Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ricky of Wabash; her mother Eva Berry of Wabash; a daughter, Veronica Kay Honeycutt of Wabash, two sons - Larry Dwayne Easterday and Mark Shane Easterday, both of Wabash; two brothers, Tom Berry of Wabash and Michael Berry of Andrews; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel of Wabash, with Pastors Tim Prater and Troy Trusty officiating. Burial was in the Friends Cemetery, located at Wabash.
John E. Lehman
John Edward Lehman, 71, of 696 Indiana St., Wabash, died Thursday, March 25, 1999 at Select Specialty Hospital of Fort Wayne, IN. He was born March 29, 1927 at Wabash to Christian and Lerreenia (Ryall) Lehman. He married Phyllis Stouffer in North Manchester, IN Sept. 15, 1946. He retired from Conrail Railroad in 1986 after 42 years employment. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Wabash V.F.W. Post 286, and the Roann American Legion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons - Jerry A. (Christine) Lehman of Wabash, Joe E. Lehman of Klamath Falls, OR, and Daniel L. (Nanci) Lehman of Silver Lake; three sisters - Pat Tarter of Akron, IN, Mary Strickler and Bessie Custer, both of Wabash; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service was held Monday, March 29, 1999 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel, Wabash, with the Rev. Lowell Burrus officiating. Burial was in Falls Cemetery of Wabash. Preferred memorials are to the Wabash County Cancer Society.
Cloid D. Swartz
Cloid D. Swartz, 92, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, died Thursday, March 25, 1999 at Peabody Health Care. He was born Aug. 8, 1905 in Kosciusko County, IN to Walter G. and Lena (Shriver) Swartz. He married Bernice McVicker in 1954, and she survives.
Mr. Swartz was a farmer. He was a member of the South Creek Community Church of the Brethren. He was secretary for the Horse and Pony Association at the Kosciusko County Fair Grounds for 15 years; also secretary-treasurer for the N. Manchester Saddle Club for 10 years, and a 4-H leader for five years for Monroe Township. He played the organ for various organizations and for the Church for more than 70 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons - Mike Swartz of Warsaw and Roger Hamilton of Silver Lake; a brother, Karl Swartz of Claypool; a sister, Helen Leckrone of North Manchester; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Sunday, March 28, 1999 at the South Creek Community Church of the Brethren, Kosciusko County, and burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery of Kosciusko County. The Rev. Byron Miller officiated the services.

Conrad F. Driesen
Conrad "Connie" F. KB9QAN Driesen, 55, of 4972 S. Bailey Rd., Wabash, IN died Wednesday, March 24, 1999 at Parkview Hospital of Fort Wayne, IN. He was born Aug. 24, 1943 at Charleroi, PA to Rene and Hannah Jean (Johnston) Driesen, both deceased. He married Linda Palmer in Canonsburg, PA on June 1, 1968. He had lived in Wabash County the past 19 years.
He attended the Wabash Friends Church. He was a member of the Wabash H.A.M. Radio Club, and taught basic electricity classes at Ivy Tech in Wabash, and at one time taught at the Heartland Career Center in Wabash.
"Connie" was the assistant Plant Engineer at Ford Meter Box Co. in Wabash, and he received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by a daughter, Kristy L. Carsten of Fort Wayne; a son, Gary P. Driesen of Indianapolis; a brother, Lloyd Driesen of Charleroi, PA; a sister, Mary Jean Driesen of Monessen, PA; a grandson, Zachary A. Driesen of Indianapolis; and an aunt, Mary Johnston of Monessen, PA.
The funeral was held Saturday, March 27, 1999 at Wabash Friends Church of Wabash, with the Rev. David Phillips officiating. Burial was in the Friends Cemetery of Wabash.

D. Mignon Bahney
D. Mignon Bahney, 102, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999 at Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born Jan. 25, 1897 in Wabash County to Charles William and Amanda (Niccum) Anderson. She married Guy Bahney on April 1, 1951; he died Sept. 9, 1971.
She attended school at Iowa State in Ames, Iowa and graduated from Manchester College. She taught home economics at Culver and later served as Dean of Girls at Anderson High School until her marriage to Mr. Bahney. They spent their winters in Florida and their summers at Lake Manitou, but also maintained an apartment in Akron where Mr. Bahney and his son, Joe, operated Bahney Chevrolet Sales.
A resident of Peabody Retirement Community since 1981, previously of Akron, Mrs. Bahney was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church and the Rochester Garden Club.
Survivors include a step daughter-in-law, Maxine Bahney of North Manchester; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Anderson of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were a step son, three brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral service was held Saturday, March 27, 1999 at Peabody Chapel with the Rev. Stevan Haiflich officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery of North Manchester.

George H.A. Keffaber
George H.A. Keffaber, 90, of 2900 N. Apperson, Lot 58, Kokomo, IN, formerly of Wabash, IN, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998 at St. Joseph Hospital of Kokomo. He was born May 1, 1907 at Wabash, IN to Charles and Anna (Hettmansperger) Keffaber.
He was retired from Container Corporation of America after 35 years employment, and was a World War II Army Airforce veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Lodge of Wabash.
He was first married to Emma May Hensen Feb. 9, 1946; she died March 18, 1976. His second marriage was to Delphine Carter May 26, 1979 and she died May 18, 1983. His last marriage was to Martha Shelton Feb. 1, 1993, and she survives at Kokomo, IN.
Survivors include a son, Duane Keffaber of Wabash, and a daughter, Sandra Holley of Marion; six grandchildren, and a great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Graveside service only was held Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County, IN. The Rev. Kevin Stirratt officiated.

John M. Crist Jr.
John M. Crist Jr., 70, of 10582 N. State Road 15, Roann, IN died Saturday, Feb. 28,1998 at Wabash Healthcare Center. He was born Feb. 8, 1928 in Huntington County to John M. and Tressia (France) Crist Sr. He married Sadie Whitaker Oct. 20, 1946 and she died Dec. 29, 1995.
He was a member of the Erie Street Freewill Baptist Church of Wabash, was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was retired from Ford Meter Box after 39 years employment.
Survivors include a son, Robin Lee Crist of Roann; brothers Clifford Crist of North Manchester and James Crist of Silver Lake; and a sister, Mrs. Dennis (Martha) Ackers of Clearwater, FL. One son preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held today, Wednesday, March 4, at the Erie Street Freewill Baptist Church with the Pastor Bill Bowling officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery of Silver Lake, IN.

Shane H. Hoffman
Shane Hershey Hoffman, 19, of 3200E 1450N, North Manchester, IN died Saturday, March 1, 1997, the result of an automobile accident in North Manchester. He was born Jan. 3, 1978 in Wabash, IN to Ronald D. Hoffman, deceased, and Belinda Brown of North Manchester.
Shane was a senior at Manchester High School where he was a member of the MHS football, track, and wrestling teams. He was employed as a life guard at Manchester Community Pool. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church, SR 114, North Manchester.
Survivors include his mother and step father, Rock and Belinda Foust, North Manchester, and his stepmother, Andrea R. Hoffman of North Manchester; paternal grandparents, Donald W. and Sharon Hoffman of North Manchester, and paternal grandmother, Eileen Schannep of Ft. Myers, FL; two step brothers, Brian Foust and Dane Foust, No. Manchester; a sister, Heather Hoffman, North Manchester; maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Brown of North Manchester; paternal great-grandparents, Frank and Mary Frantz, North Manchester.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 4, 1997 at the Christian Fellowship Church with Pastors J. P. Freeman and Patrick Powers officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

D. Leon DeLauter
D. Leon (Lee) DeLauter, 81, of 23 Bonbrook Dr., Wabash, IN died March 1, 1997 at Community Care Center, Wabash. He was born March 4, 1915 at Canton, OH to the Rev. Ora and Eva (Domer) DeLauter. He married Genevieve F. Young July 19, 1936 and she preceded him in death April 2, 1988.
He was self employed as owner of A-1 Services for 25 years. He was a member of the Wabash Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by sons L. Gene DeLauter of Wabash, and David DeLauter of Ann Arbor, MI; a daughter, Mrs. John (Caryl) Flesher of Roann; a brother, Dale, DeLauter of Littleton, CO; and a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Pauline) Fry of Rockford, IL; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. One son and a daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held today, March 5, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wabash Church of the Brethren on Bond St., Wabash, with Rev. John Kreps officiating, and assisted by Revs. Phil and Louise Rieman.
Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Wabash Church of the Brethren.
