Mildred L. Latta
Mildred L. Latta, 66, of 400 W. Seventh Street, North Manchester, IN, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at Peabody Retirement Commu-nity, North Manchester. She was born April 5, 1931 at Warsaw, IN to Fred and Irene (Shand) Latta. She had been a resident of North Manchester for the past seven years.
She had been employed by A.R.C. of Wabash. She was a member of the First Brethren Church of North Manchester.
Survivors include three aunts - Ester Long of Ft. Myers, FL and Janice Sellers of Warsaw; also two uncles - Paul Latta of Warsaw and Lester Shand of Atwood, IN.
Memorial service was held today, Wednesday, May 21, 1997 at 2:00 p.m.at Peabody Retirement Community with Chaplains Grana Bodart and Kurt Stout officiating. Private interment arranged by McHattan Sadler Funeral Chapel of Warsaw, IN.
Catherine L. McIntosh
Mrs. Catherine Louise McIntosh, 75, of Indianapolis, IN died Monday, May 19, 1997 at St. Vincent Hospice of Indianapolis, IN.
A licensed practical nurse, she worked in Triage in Emergency Room at Fort Myers Community Hospital, Ft. Myers, FL. for seven years, retiring in 1980. She also worked as LPN at Timbercrest Retirement Community in North Manchester for two years.
She was married to Jay M. McIntosh, who preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters Nancy Hoover of Makado, MI and Sara Thompson of Brownsburg, IN; sons Jay D. McIntosh of Bedford, MA, and Paul E. McIntosh of Placerville, CA; a brother, Edwin Parsley of Blue Eye, MO and a sister, Eleanor Parsley of Deer Park, TX.
Friends may call at the Flanner & Buchanan Speedway Mortuary, Indian-apolis, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. There are no services planned. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Fort Myers, FL. Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
Claire E. King
Claire E. King, 69, a resident of Norwood Nursing Center, Huntington, IN, formerly a Huntington resident, died May 18, 1997 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born Feb. 7, 1928 at New York, N.Y. to John and Edna (Jacobs) Binnie, both deceased.
A homemaker, she married William M. King Sr. June 17, 1964 and he preceded her in death Sept. 29, 1975.
Survivors include sons William M. King Jr. of North Manchester, and Michael King of Lagro, IN; daughters Mrs. Brent (Myla) Augs-purger of Roanoke, IN, Vickie Herring of Sanford, FL, Mrs. Jeff (Bonnie) Adkins of Karo, GA, and Christine King of Decatur, IN; a brother, John Binnie of Forest Hills, N.Y.; a sister Grace Finnegan of Lakewood, N.J.; 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. One daughter and a sister preceded her in death.
Graveside service was held today, Wednesday, May 21, 1997 at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Irene A. Paltz
Irene Adelle Paltz, 90, a resident of Timbercrest Retire-ment Home, North Manches-ter, and formerly of 302 W. 11th St., Rochester, IN 46975, died at Timbercrest Thursday, May 15, 1997. She was born April 13, 1907 in Richland Township of Fulton County, IN to Byron O. and Leila O. (Tatman) Smith, both deceased.
She married Arnold Alfred Paltz June 3, 1939 and he preceded her in death February 1950.
She lived most of her life in the Fulton County area. She was a retired school teacher, who had taught in the Akron High School, also, Riddle and Columbia Elementary Schools in Rochester. She was a Rochester H.S. graduate and a 1929 graduate of Indiana University where she received the B.A. degree in French and English. She was also a member of Kappa Delta Sorority while at I.U.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist church of Rochester; O.E.S. #70 Rochester; Sigma Delta Pi Sorority of Rochester, AARP, Rochester, Indiana Retired Teachers Association and Fulton County Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include cousins, Mrs. Lucy Smith of Tillamook, OR, Mrs. Richard Flemming of Modesto, CA and Mrs. Peggy Roberts of Rio Rancho, N.M. Her parents, her husband, and a sister, Mildred Lucile Smith preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 20, 1997 at Foster & Good Funeral Home of Rochester, with Dr. C. David Hogsett officiating. Burial was in Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rochester.
Mabel Brubaker
Mabel E. Brubaker, 94, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, died Thursday, May 15, 1997 at Peabody Healthcare Center. She was born Dec. 27, 1902 at Rensselaer, IN to Levi and Emma (Wray) Renicker.
She married Milton C. Brubaker June 29, 1924 in North Manchester; he died Sept. 2, 1980. A lifetime county resident, she was a member of the North Manchester Old German Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Donald W. Brubaker of North Manchester, and a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Marilyn) Thompson of Laketon; five grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a sister, a grandchild, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 18, 1997 in the Old German Baptist Church with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial was in the Old German Baptist Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Peabody Foundation.
Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Charles C. Parmerlee
Charles Carroll Parmerlee, 71, of 10358 N. Leeland Lane, Syracuse, IN, died Tuesday, May 26, at Goshen General Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was born June 21, 1926 at North Manchester, IN to Otto and Treva (Ikenberry) Parmerlee. He married Carolyn Warner Oct. 28, 1951 and she survives.
They moved to Lake Wawasee in 1978 from Muncie. He was former co-owner of Imperial Equipment in Lafayette. He was sales coor-dinator for Commodore Corporation in Goshen. He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church of Syracuse, and was a World War II Veteran of the Army Air Corp.
Survivors include his wife; sons, David of Indianapolis and Stephen of Muncie, and Douglas of Lansing, MI; two grandchildren; a sister, Vivian Baker of Phoenix, AZ; three brothers - Robert of South Bend, Thomas of Hilton Head, SC and James of Guam.
Friends may call at Eastlund Funeral Home - Harris Chapel, 7458E 1000N, Syracuse, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral will be held at Eastlund Funeral Home-Harris Chapel Friday, May 29, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Phil Frew officiating. Burial will be in North Manchester's Oaklawn Cemetery.

William C. Cowgill
William C. "Bud" Cowgill of 4 Crescent Drive, Wabash, IN, died Monday, May 25, 1998 at his residence. He was born Mar. 14, 1914 at Wabash to Stuart C. and Mary S. (Stitt) Cowgill. He was never mar-ried.
He was a member of a pio-neer Wabash County family, and a 1933 graduate of Wabash High School. Bud was an accountant at the Marion Indiana General Tire plant 15 years, retiring in 1975. He was a Deacon and Elder of the Wabash Presbyterian Church, a mem-ber of the Wabash Elks Lodge #471, Wabash American Legion Post 15. He was a First Lt. in the U.S. Army infantry during World War II, serv-ing in the European Theater and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include only cousins. A sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call two hours prior to the funeral service which will take place on Thursday, May 28, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel. The Rev. Jeffrey Smith will offici-ate and burial will be in the Falls Cemetery of Wabash.
Preferred memorials are to the Wabash Presbyterian Church. Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Lawrence J. Koch
Lawrence John Koch, 81, of 749 Evans Blvd., Wabash, IN, died Friday, May 22, 1998 at Wabash Skilled Care Center of Wabash. He was born Aug. 22, 1916 at Urbana, IN to William and Charlotte (Wolf) Koch. He married Audra Biehl in Urbana, IN on Sept. 22, 1936.
He was retired from Fisher Body in Marion in 1978 after 22 years. He then worked as the caretaker at Honeywell House in Wabash for 10 years, and also farmed. He was a member of the Urbana Yoke Parish.
Survivors include his wife, Audra, of Wabash; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Doretta) Neal of Lafontaine; sons Ed Koch of Urbana and Keith Koch of Roann; three sisters - Mrs. Paul (Alice) Krauskopf of Schaumburg, IL, Mrs. Russell (Charlotte) Eisenhart of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Dorlan (Ethel Marie) Wagner of North Manchester; 16 grand-children, 21 great grandchil-dren and one great-great granddaughter. Two daugh-ters, a son, a sister and a brother preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Monday, May 25, 1998 at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel, Wabash, with Pastor Ken Parsons officiat-ing. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery of Urbana.
Preferred memorials are to the Wabash County Cancer Society or to the Urbana Yoke Parish. Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Mary E. Nixon
Mary E. Nixon, 80, of 2009 E. Singer Road, North Manchester, died Thursday, May 21, 1998 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Miami County, IN to William and Elvira (Pontius) Shafer. She married Delbert T. Nixon June 1, 1941 in North Manchester.
She was a graduate of Gilead High School in Gilead, IN. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Delbert; two sons - Douglas Nixon of Fort Wayne and John R. Nixon of Reno, NV; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Runkel of North Manchester; a sister, Clara Smith of Goshen, IN; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Sunday, May 24, 1998 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel with Pastor J. P. Freeman officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery of North Manchester.

Louise C. Karn
Louise C. Karn, 83, of 501 Kech Street, North Manchester, died Friday, May 22, 1998 at her residence. She was born in Wabash County, IN to Daniel and Erma (Gemmer) Urschel.
She was co-owner of Wible's Beauty Salon for 15 years. She later was a Nurse's Aide at Manchester Clinic for 13 years. She was a member of N. Manchester Congregational Christian Church, Epsilon Sigma Alpha - Gamma Chapter, and of the North Manchester Women of the Moose.
Survivors include a son, Ron Karn of New York, NY; a daughter, Sandy Winger of North Manchester; a brother Lamoine Urschel of Tucson, AZ; and three grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister pre-ceded her in death.
Funeral service was held to-day (Wednesday, May 27, 1998), at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary with the Rev. John Curtis officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Jean M. Frohlich
Jean Mazon Frohlich, 68, of 71 Kech Street, North Manchester, IN died Friday, May 22, 1998 at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born Sept. 18, 1929 at Selma, AL to Swanson A. and Jimmie Dee (Moorer) Wiggins, both de-ceased. She was retired from Heckman Bindery, N. Manchester.
Survivors include two sons - Sydney Joseph Frohlich III of Durham, N.C. and Rex Gerald Frohlich of Dallas, TX; two brothers - William C. Wiggins of Fosters, AL and Gerald S. Wiggins of Tuscaloosa, AL; and three grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 26, 1998 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary with Rev. Theron Hanes offi-ciating. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 28, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park, Tuscaloosa, AL.

Marie Hartsough
Marie Hartsough, 97, a Peabody Retirement Community resident, died Tuesday, May 21, 1996 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born in Kosciusko County, IN to David and Nida Bell (Sebring) Antrim. She married Charles Hartsough Jan. 31, 1916 and he died July 8, 1964.
She was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Geraldine) Thomas of North Manchester, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, 1996, at 3:00 p.m. with the Revs. Mark Flora-Swick and Glen Campbell officiating. Friends may call at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary Friday, May 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester. Preferred memorials are to that of the donor's choice. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
