Margurite J. Stouffer
Margurite June Stouffer, 73, a resident of Community Care Center, Wabash, IN, died at Wabash County Hospital Tuesday, July 28, 1998. She was born Feb. 23, 1925 at Wabash, IN Stouffer on June 1, 1943 in Urbana, IN and he died July 3, 1998.
A lifetime resident of Wabash County, she was a Matron at Roann elementary school and at Metro North elementary school. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Treaty and the Roann American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters - Mrs. Jay (Barbara) Sullivan, Mrs. Linda Spence and Mrs. Larry (Jennifer) Faust, all of Wabash; two brothers - Jack Harris of LaFontaine and Jerry Harris of Wabash; a sister, Mrs. John (Helen Jean) Snyder of Wabash and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel, Wabash, on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel Friday, July 31, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Scott Saltsman officiating. Burial will take place in the Falls Cemetery of Wabash, IN.
Preferred memorials are to the Church of Christ at Treaty.

Helene W. Canine
Helene Wasmuth Canine, 92, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community for seven years, died July 30, 1996 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born Aug. 9, 1903 at Roanoke, IN to Daniel and Verna (Flora) Wasmuth.
She was a North Manchester res-ident for 50 years, having been an art teacher in the North Manch-ester Community School system for many years until her retirement in 1966. She taught art in grades 1-12.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Rabe of Sarasota, FL' nieces Christine Nordmann of Hamilton, IN, Peggy Gilbert of North Manchester, Sandra Rademaker of Fort Wayne, and a nephew, Dr. Alan Richards of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Private graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 3 at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN, with the Rev. Robert Schmeiser officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the Peabody Foundation. Bender Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Donald J. Hamilton
Donald J. Hamilton, 89, of 1710 Fox Farm Road, Warsaw, IN, died Monday, July 29, 1996 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born April 2, 19907 in Kosciusko County to James and Sarah E. (Myers) Hamilton. He married Jessie Shafer Dec. 16, 1931.
A lifetime Kosciusko County res-ident, he was a farmer and truck driver for Leesburg Mill, Leesburg, IN, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Leesburg Grace Brethren Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie; four sons - Dean and Jack Hamilton, both of Milford, IN, Jim and Jerry Hamilton, both of Warsaw; two sisters - Anna Gagnon of North Manchester and Hazel Coahran of Macy; also nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Aug. 1, at 12:30 p.m. in the Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Jeff Hoffard officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Lees-burg Grace Brethren Church, P.O. Box 370, Leesburg, IN 46538.

David Timberman
David Hiram Timberman, 94, of resident of Millers Merry Manor East, Wabash, died Saturday, July 27, 1996 at the Manor. He was born Jan. 4, 1902 at Paulding, OH to Hirma and Sylvia (Sands) Timber-man.
He was formerly a farmer from Claypool, IN and was affiliated with Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Miami County, IN.
He married Edna E. Dillman in Warsaw June 22, 1920; she died in 1979. Three sisters and two broth-ers also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons - Ger-ald Timberman of Pioneer, TN and Wayne Timberman of Wabash; four grandchildren, eight great-grand-children and two step great-grand-children.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, July 31, 1996 at Roann Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, and burial was in the Akron Cemetery at Akron, IN.

Elizabeth Sendelweck
Elizabeth Sendelweck, 87, a resi-dent of Peabody Retirement Community since August 1991, died Saturday, July 27, 1996 at Peabody. She was born Nov. 15, 1908 in DuBois County, Indiana, a daughter of Andrew and Anna (Neukam) Braun. Her formative years were spent in DuBois County and she completed her education in the public schools.
She was united in marriage to Alva C. Sendeleweck and they spent their married life in DuBois County. Mr. Sendelweck preceded her in death in 1953, and in 1988, she moved to North Manchester. She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haysville, IN.
Survivors include a son, Eugene A. Sendelweck of Toronto, Ontario; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Eunice) Kambs of North Manchester; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mar-garet Fuhrman of southern Indiana. A sister and four brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Tues-day in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haysville, and burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements were by Smith & Sons Funeral Home of Columbia City. Viewing in Jasper, IN was at Becher & Klues-ner Funeral Home, as well as at the church.

Maude M. Stands
Maude Marie Stands, 91, of Har-borside Healthcare Center, New Haven, IN, died Friday, July 19, 1996 at Harborside Healthcare Center. She was born Sept. 2, 1904 in White County, IN to William and Angeline Archer, both deceased. She married Glenn Stands in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1966.
Mrs. Stands was retired from Peabody Retirement Community where she had been employed as a Nurse's Aid. She was a member of the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Whitley County.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dale Arden (Maxine) Neher of New Haven; a brother, George Archer of Spencer, IN; two grandchildren, Larry and Chris Neher, and a great-grandson, Logan Neher. A brother and three sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 23, at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary of North Manch-ester, with the Rev. Richard Knarr officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Arthur Haupert
Arthur Haupert, 73, of Speic 25 E. Washington St., Wabash, IN, died Saturday, July 20, 1996 at Wabash County Hospital. He was born July 16, 1923 at Urbana, IN to William T. and Edith I. (Speicher) Haupert, both deceased.
He married Helen M. Stone in Urbana, IN on Sept. 18, 1948 and she survives. He had been em-ployed with the Farm Bureau Co-Op for 30 years, and was retired. He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Urbana.
Other survivors include sons Gary L. Haupert of Cedar Lake, IN, Mark A. Haupert of Peru, IN, and Brian K. Haupert of North Manch-ester;a daughter, Theresa A. Hon-eycutt of Wabash; a sister, Evelyn M. Haupert of Urbana; and seven grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death. Private family funeral service was held today, July 24, 1996 and burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Urbana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash County Hospital I.C.U. in memory of Mr. Hau-pert.
Manchester Ave. Chapel Grand-staff-Hentgen, Wabash, was in charge of arrangements.

Donald "Jim" Kling
Donald "Jim" Kling, 60, of Liberty Mills, IN died Friday, July 19,1996 at his residence. He was born Feb. 16, 1936 in Wabash County to the late John M. and Mary (Harrison) Kling. He married Virginia M. Francis Sept. 13, 1959 and she pre-ceded him in death Aug. 6, 1993.
Mr. Kling was retired from Warner Brooder Company.
Survivors include daughters Mrs. Samuel (Rosie) Barrett of Liberty Mills and Mrs. Terry (Annie) Lane of Fort Wayne; sisters Mrs. George (Bernice) Francis of Warsaw and Mrs. Donald (Caroline) Haynes of Wabash; and four grandchildren. Four brothers preceded him in death.
He was a member of the North Manchester Sweetwater Assembly of God where funeral services were held Monday, July 22, with the Rev. Thomas Turner officiating. Burial was in Swank Cemetery, North Manchester. Preferred memorials are to the Sweetwater church.
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Mae E. Kolb
Mae Elizabeth Kolb, 83, of Tim-bercrest Retirement Community, died Wednesday, July 17, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born May 2, 1913 at East Chicago, IN to Edward and Marie (Bald) Boardway.
She married William R. Kolb Nov. 25, 1932 at Hammond, IN. She was a 10-year employee of the Hammond Draft Board. She lived at Timbercrest Retirement Commu-nity since 1989, coming from Ellenton, FL where she lived for 18 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond for over 60 years. In Ellenton, FL she was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William, at Timbercrest; a daughter, Kae Gifford of Urbana; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A son and a sister pre-ceded her in death.
Graveside services were held at Elmwood Cemetery , Hammond, IN Tuesday, July 23, 1996 with the Rev. Johnny Colsten officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the Cognitive Impairment Unit of Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
Roann Chapel Grandstaff-Hent-gen Funeral was in charge of arrangements.

Jane Monce
Jane Monce, 67, of 309 S. High St., Warsaw, IN died Wednesday July 17, 1996 at her home. She was born Nov. 10, 1928 at North Manchester to Ollie C. and Flo-rence (Delvin) Burkhart. She had been a Warsaw residence since 1961, coming from North Manch-ester.
She married DeWayne Monce May 18, 1947, and he survives. She was a homemaker, and was a foster parent for a number of years. She was a member of No. Manchester's Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lennie (Deborah) Edwards, Jr. of Potsdam, N.Y., and Mrs. Kerry (Hannah) Logg of Phoenix, AZ; two sons, Anthony D. Monce and V.Drake Monce, both of Warsaw; eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Merritt, and two brothers.
Funeral service was held Saturday, July 20 at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel of Warsaw with Deaconess Sabine Thomas officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Ceme-tery, Warsaw.

Ernest Johnson Jr.
Ernest Johnson Jr., 37, of 9831N 250W, Roann, died Wednesday, July 17, 1996 at his residence. He was born June 27,1959 at Wabash, IN to Ernest Johnson Sr. of Servia, IN and Dorothy Jean (Howard) Johnson of Roann. He was a mem-ber of the Christian Fellowship Church of North Manchester, and was employed as a construction worker. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion of Lagro, IN and also a member of Labor's Union #275, Lafayette, IN.
Survivors include three sons, Ernest Johnson III of Roann, Dustin Allen Johnson and Kendle D. John-son, both of Menden, LA; maternal grandmothers, Mrs. Bertha Howard of Roann; and a brother, Howard Ray Johnson of Roann.
Funeral service was held at the Christian Fellowship Church Sun-day, July 21, 1996 with the Rev. Dale Kelsey officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
Preferred memorials are to ABATE, Region #3. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Mary H. Greengard
Mary H. Greengard, 76, of Fort Wayne, IN died Monday, July 15, 1996 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born Nov. 24, 1919 at Linton, IN to William H. and Ella (Norris) Sciscoe.
She was married to Jerome Greengard, who died in 1994; she was retired as of 1988 as owner of Jerome's Ladies' Wear in North Manchester after 38 years.
She is survived by a son, Robert Greengard of Fort Wayne, and two grandchildren.
D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home of Fort Wayne was in charge of arrangements.
