Jesse D. Lefforge
Jesse D. Lefforge, 81, of 10844 N SR 13, North Manchester, IN, died Sunday morning, Feb. 24, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo, IN. He was born at Pleasant Township, Wabash County, IN Sept. 18, 1920 to Dale E. and Mabel Berniece (Grimes) Lefforge. He married Kathryn Aduddell Nov. 29, 1941; she died June 22, 1996.
A 1939 graduate of Chester High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force dring World War II, and was a member of the U.S. Force Retired Officers Association. He was at one time employed as a mechanic at the former Priser Auto, and Plant Superintendent at Warner-Brooder Corp. He was also a self employed monument engraver.
He was a member of United Methodist Church of North Manchester.
Survivors include daughters Linda Price of North Manchester and Mrs. Kenneth (JoDee) Hoemig of Fremont, IN; brothers Max Lefforge of Warren, MI and Donald Lefforge of San Jose, CA; a sister, Dorothy Maxwell of Indialantic, FL; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary No. Manchester Chapel Friday, March 1, 2002 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the mortuary Saturday, March 2, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Fred Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.

Mary B. Wing
Mary B. Wing, 91, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1910 at Lebanon, IN to Dade and Minnie (Highland) Akers. She married Lorren "Red" Wing on Sept. 3, 1932 in Lebanon; he died on June 18, 1979.
She and her husband co-owned Wings Flowers and Gifts, North Manchester, from 1945 to 1972. She lived most of her life in North Manchester, and had lived at Timbercrest since 1998. She was a member of he Congregational Christian Church of North Manchester where she was music director for 55 years, taught Sunday school, and was involved in many church retreats. She was also a member of the Fine Arts Club of North Manchester. She and her daughters taught tap and dance.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Wing, and a son-in-law, Edward Auxer, both of North Brook, IL. A daughter, Mary Wing, died in 1953.
Funeral service for Mrs. Wing was held Sunday at the Congregational Christian Church with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Preferred memorials are to the Missions Ministry, care of the Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, IN 46962.

Lucile D. Graffis
Lucile D. Graffis, 89, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community, North Manchester, died Sunday evening, March 3, 2002 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. She was born at Kosciusko County, IN to George W. and Edith (Leckrone) Deaton. She married Homer A. Graffis on Feb. 4, 1934; he died December 10, 1997
Mrs. Graffis graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1931. She attended Manchester College and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include two sons - Darrel Dean Graffis of Scots, MI and Dallas Gene Graffis of Fort Wayne; a foster sister, Georgia May Fredericks of Thonatassia, FL; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Three brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Timbercrest Chapel one hour prior to funeral service which will be held Thursday, March 7, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Kelly Beutler and Chaplain Joan Deeter will officiate and burial will be in Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Kosciusko County, IN.

Glen C. Keaffaber
Glen C. Keaffaber, 89, of 3441E 1450N, North Manchester, IN, died Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Miller's Merry Manor West, Wabash, IN. He was born January 31, 1913 at Wabash, IN to Clarence and Freda (Brabender) Keaffaber. He married Willadean V. Kamp on April 1, 1934, who survives.
He was a 1932 graduate of Chippewa High School, and was a member of the Missionary Church, North Manchester. He was a 50-year member of Gideons International. He was a farmer and owner of the former Liberty Mills Elevator for 40 years.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two sons - Bill (Jane) Keaffaber of Kokomo and Gary (Judi) Keaffaber of Elkhart; a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Nancy) Burton of Liberty Mills; a brother, Richard (Mary) Keaffaber of Wabash; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 6, 2002 with Pastors Daniel Binkley and Dale Leinbach officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawns Cemetery of Wabash.
Preferred memorials are to the Missionary Church, or Gideons International.
Verlin A. Haynes
Verlin A. Haynes, 92, of 3559 W. SR 124, Wabash, IN, died Sunday, March 3, 2002 at Millers Merry Manor West, Wabash. He was born July 14, 1909 in Huntington, IN to Lem and Clara (Shambaugh) Haynes. He married Arloene Heagy in Miami County on December 17, 1955.
He was a member of the Wabash County Farm Bureau, and a lifetime member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime resident of Wabash County.
He is survived by his wife, Arloene of Wabash; a sister, Mrs. Lewis (Miriam) Blackburn of Nokomis, FL, a nephew Pawnee (Lois) Haynes of Gas City and a niece, Mrs. Richard (Sharon) Landis of Venice, FL. A brother and a nephew preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel Wednesday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be at the funeral chapel Thursday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor David Abel officiating. Burial will take place in Murphy Cemetery, located in Wabash County. Preferred memorials are to the Lebanon United Methodist Church.
Isaac K. Davidson
Isaac Kirk Davidson, 89, of 1160 W. Main St., Lagro, IN, died Sunday, Mar. 3, 2002 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born Nov. 10, 1912 in Oblong, IL to Lora Alonzo and Margaret Elizabeth (Jones) Davidson. He married Ethel Iva Inyart in Mt. Carmel, IL on August 10, 1932; she died March 17, 2001.
He was a production worker for Celotex Corporation in Lagro, for 24 years. He also worked for Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Forestry Division, and at one time he worked for Falls Cemetery and the Indiana State Highway Department. He had repair shops - automotive, TV and Radio, and lawn mower. He enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar and harmonica, and he was a camper.
Survivors include six daughters - Mrs. Rex (Viola) Mowery, Mrs. David (Velma) Crull, Mrs. Jerry (Rose Mary) Kendall, and Mrs. Steve (Linda) Howard, all of Wabash; also Mrs. Clifford (Carolyn) Mowery of Marion and Mrs. Claren (Rowena) Goad of Fort Wayne; six sons - Gerald, Nolan, and Leonard Davidson of North Manchester, Wendell and Randall Davidson of Lagro, and Allan Davidson of Wabash; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Loyette) Boggs of Huntington, IN; 36 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. Three daughters and a brother preceded him in death.
Funeral service is planned for Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel with Pastor Roger Abels and Scott Saltsman officiating. Burial will take place in Falls Cemetery of Wabash.

Lina K. Gaunt
Lina K. Gaunt, 94, of 1501 Kessler Blvd. E, Indianapolis, IN, died Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Sunrise at Fall Creek, of Indianapolis. She was born Oct. 16, 1907 in St. Petersburg, FL. She married Lawrence C. Gaunt in St. Petersburg on June 20, 1927; he died Oct. 25, 1980.
Lina was a homemaker, and a 71-year member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Wabash Women's Clubhouse Ass'n. She had lived in Wabash from 1927 until moving to Indianapolis in December, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters - Mrs. John (Jody) Schumm of Indianapolis and Mrs. Peter (Ann) Stroth of Valley City, OH; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A sister preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel with Rev. William Wimberly and Rev. Mark Schumm officiating. Burial was in Falls Cemetery of Wabash.

James D. Getz
James Donald "Don" Getz, 86, of 1373 E. SR 124, Wabash, IN, died Friday, March 1, 2002 at his residence. He was born Apr. 22, 1915 in Marion, IN to James and Amelia (Dehne) Getz. He married Geneva Anderson in Kokomo, IN on April 7, 1934.
He was a member of the Parr United Methodist Church of Kokomo. He had been the plant supervisor at Hoosier Iron Works of Kokomo, and was the head custodian at Southwood High School for many years; he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva of Wabash; a son, Joseph (Lynn) Getz of LaFontaine, IN; two daughters - Mynarose Van Sleet of Boynton Beach, FL and Mrs. Terry (Beverly) Faust of Urbana; a sister, Phyllis Clark and a brother William Getz, both of Kokomo; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, four grandchildren, a brother, four sisters and a daughter-in-law.

Anna S. Fredine
Anna S. Fredine, age 104, formerly of North Manchester, IN, died at Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, IN Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002. She was born January 15, 1898 in St. Joseph, MO to Charles and Cecilia Anderson. She married Eric W. Fredine on Oct. 1, 1927; he died Oct. 29, 1955.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, North Manchester.
Survivors include two sons - Harold Fredine of Granger, IN and Howard Fredine of Detroit Lake, MN; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Monday, March 4, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Florence N. Damron
Florence N. Damron, 87, of 203 Damron Dr., North Manchester, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. She was born May 22, 1914 in Sciotoville, OH to Kennard N. and Nola Mae (Stewart) Nagel. A retired registered nurse, she was married to Dr. William K. Damron on Jan. 23, 1941; he died August 10, 1978.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Manchester. She was also a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, Fine Arts Club, Historical Society, and Ivy Chapter #69 Order of Eastern Star, all of North Manchester.
Survivors include a son, Dr. J. R. Damron of Santa Fe, N.M., and daughters Rebecca Savill of Orlando, FL and Mary "Murph" Damron of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Funeral service was held Monday morning, March 4, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Hawkins and Deaconess Sabine Thomas officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
