Anna A. Kinch
Anna K. Kinch, 83, of 1208 W. Fourth St., North Manchester, IN, died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at Miller's Merry Manor East of Wabash, IN. She was born Feb. 14, 1919 at Normal, IL to Charles and Jewell (Thomas) Rutledge, both deceased. She was a homemaker, and married Joseph Farrara in January 1934; he died in May 1939. Her second marriage was to Nicholas M. Kinch in June 1940; he died in November 1975.
She was a member of the Spiritual Church of Peru, IN.
Survivors include sons Joseph Charles Farrara of Miami, FL, Anthony L. Farrara, John E. Kinch, and Louis G. Kinch, all of North Manchester, and Fred T. Kinch of Claypool; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers, two sisters and a grandchild preceded her in death.
Friends were received Monday afternoon, March 25, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary No. Manchester Chapel, and private burial was planned for Riverside Cemetery of Andrews, IN.
Martha A. Jontz
Services for Martha A. Jontz, 84, of South Bend and formerly of North Manchester, were held Wednesday March 20, 2002 at South Pleasant Cemetery, rural Silver Lake, IN. The Rev. Paul Tinkel officiated, and pallbearers were Dan, Mike, and Duane Rowland, Norman Harman, John Barnhardt and Kurt Schannep.
Arrangements were by DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary No. Manchester Chapel.
Agnes R. Bechtold
Services for Agnes R. Bechtold, 94, of Timbercrest Retirement Community were held Wednesday morning, March 20, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel. Pastor Fred Bishop and Rev. David Friend officiated and Rita Slater presided at the organ. Jenny Brubaker provided special music. Family remembrances were given by Kris Leckrone.
Burial was at Fairview Cemetery of Servia, where pallbearers were Erik and Kris Leckrone, John Mitmoen, John Wilson, Steve Kahlenberg, Steven Stoltz, Galen Gamble, Monte and Ron Bechtold.
Mildred L. Bridegroom
Services for Mildred L. Bridegroom, 94, of Silver Lake, IN were held Saturday afternoon, March 16, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, Silver Lake Chapel with Pastor Nikki Marker officiating. Organist was Betty Doub.
Burial was at Lakeview Cemetery of Silver Lake, and pallbearers were Ron, Rex, Bob, and Roger Sellers, Rick Bridegroom, and Randy Warren.
Keith B. Coldren
Services were held for Keith B. Coldren, 79, Saturday afternoon, March 9, 2002, at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, No. Manchester Chapel with Rev. Chad Burkhart and Jerry Ervin officiating.
Military service was provided by the VFW Post #286, Wabash. George Thompson was bugler, and Duane Truss presented the flag.
Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester with Chuck McGuire, Scott Boocher, John and James Sorg, Jason and David Ervin serving as pallbearers.
Ruth Anna Latham
Services for Ruth Anna Latham, 77, rural North Manchester, were held Monday morning, March 11, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary No. Manchester Chapel with Rev. Dale Jenks officiating. Peggy Boggs presided at the organ and vocalist was Rebekah Morin.
Pallbearers were Vaughan, Andrew, and Ben Latham, Nicholas Eldredge, James Shoemaker, and Noah Miller; burial was at Oakland Cemetery, North Manchester.
Maxene H. Deneve
Services for Maxene H. Deneve, 86, formerly of North Manchester, were held Monday afternoon, March 11, 2002 at the Missionary Church of North Manchester. Rev. Adam Henderson and Dr. John Moran officiated, and vocalist was Tim Hethcote, accompanied by Linda Hethcote.
Pallbearers were Mike Clouser, Stephen Colley, Matthew Reynolds, Jeremy Heyerly, Dana Bowman, and Peter Reffe; burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery, No. Manchester.

Services for Lucile D. Graffis, 89, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community were held Thursday afternoon, March 7, 2002, at Timbercrest Chapel with Pastor Kelly Beutler and Chaplain Joan Deeter officiating. Grace Voorheis was organist and Martha Yohe was chorister.
Burial was at Ulrey Memorial Cemetery in Kosciusko County, IN. Pallbearers were Darrel, Dallas, Terry, and Brett Graffis.

DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary No. Manchester Chapel is in charge of services now pending for John P. Grogg, 54, of 1321N SR 115, Wabash, IN who died Monday morning, March 25, 2002 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. Death resulted from auto/truck accident at 6:30 a.m. on SR 15 west of Laketon.

Services are pending for Gladys Deardorff, 88, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community, No. Manchester. She died Monday morning, March 25, 2002 at Timbercrest Retirement Community. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary No. Manchester Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Oscar W. Rees
Rev. Oscar W. Rees, 82, of Sioux City, IA, died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at Sioux City Hospital, Sioux City, IA. He was born Jan. 26, 1920 at Jasper County, IN to Ernest and Gladys (Smith) Rees. He married Ida Mae Corn in Wabash County, IN on June 9, 1940.
He was a graduate of Marion (IN) High School while working full time in the Anaconda wire and cable mill. He completed college in three years at Manchester College where he also served as pastor of two small Methodist churches. He was ordained as a Methodist minister after his graduation from Asbury Theological Seminary at Wilmore, KY. He took graduate work at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and from there went to Kennedy School of Missions in Hartford, Connecticut. He and his wife were missionaries from 1951-56 in Northern India where they developed industrial and vocational education.
He served as pastor at Middle Street United Methodist Church in Wabash from 1956-61. He entered a training program for institutional chaplaincy at Ohio State Medical Center and at Meninger Foundation, Topeka, KS. The next two years he was a prison chaplain in Columbus, OH, leading to his hospital chaplaincy in Sioux City, IA in 1962. He was chaplain at the Methodist Hospital and its successor, St. Luke's Regional Medical Center from 1962-1983, when he retired.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and he Downtown Rotary Club of Sioux City, IA.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae of Sioux City, IA; sons Larry A. (Ann) Rees of Lake Chelan, WA, Duane G. (Terry) Rees of Bellevue, WA, and Dennis D. (Nicole) Rees of Omaha, Neb; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Karen S.)_ Bleeker of Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, Charles Rees of Mission, TX; sisters Margaret Kessler of Wabash, Mrs. Ralph (Pearl Maxine) Miller of Espanola, NM, Mrs. Don (Hazel) Huffman, Peru, IN, and Charlotte Morrill of Syracuse, IN; a brother-in-law, Arthur Smith of Wabash and sister-in-law, Sarah Rees of Marion, IN. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Grandstaff-Hentgen, Manchester Avenue Chapel Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church of Wabash, with Rev. L. Michael Wilson officiating. Burial will take place in the Hopewell Cemetery located at Lagro, IN.
Margaret Reid
Margaret Reid, 75, a resident of Larwill, IN, died Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2002 in the Select Specialty Hospital of Fort Wayne. She was born May 16, 1926 in North Manchester, IN to Gail R. and Iva (Bowers) Hidy. Her formative years were spent in North Manchester, where she graduated from high school in 1944.
On June 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Howard W. Reid and they have spent their married life in the Larwill community.
Mrs. Reid had been employed at the Washington Products Company for several years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Larwill Lions Club.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Howard; a son, Ronald H. (Margaret) Reid, Cedar Grove, TN; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Sandra) Hossler of Larwill, Mrs. Max (Patricia) Krider and Mrs. Roger (Lori) Wood, both of South Whitley; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; seven sisters - Myrtle Myers of LaFayette, Jane Shoudel and Elizabeth Weesner, both of Fort Wayne, Phyllis Muzzelo of Phoenix, Mary Bryant of Portland, IN, Barbara Prater of Warsaw and Janice Fry of North Manchester; four brothers - Jack Hidy and Gail Hidy Jr., both of North Manchester, Bryan Hidy of Fort Wayne and Joe Hidy of Wabash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2002 in the Smith and Sons Funeral Home of Columbia City with the Rev. Terry Marker officiating. Burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery at Larwill. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Services for Leer Needy, 93, rural Silver Lake, IN, were held Saturday morning, Nov. 9, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel. Rev. Etsie Allen officiated and vocalists were Etsie and Missy Allen. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, with pallbearers James Gallagher, Joel Gallagher, Mike Howard, David Howard, Michael Dungan, and Gordon Belles as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Dungan and Samuel Dungan.
Erma "Jean" Blackwell
Graveside service for Erma "Jean" (Pettit) Blackwell, 75, of Claypool, IN, were held Monday noon, Nov. 16, 2002 at Falls Cemetery, Wabash, with Rev. Roger Weir officiating. McDonnell Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel, of Wabash handled arrangements. Preferred memorials are to the First Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High St., Warsaw, IN 46580.
