Dorsey C. Willis
Dorsey Clinton Willis, 99, residing at Leavenworth Homestead Assisted Living Center, Leavenworth, KS, died April 19, 2002 at his residence. He was born June 27, 1902 at West Fork, IN to William Gaston and Maggie (Doolittle) Willis. He married Ruth Clark June 16, 1929 and she died in 1998.
He was a former resident of Plymouth, IN and South Bend, IN. He graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in chemistry. He was a chemist for the former Studebaker Automobile Co. of South Bend and was an instructor of chemistry at I.U. Extension, South Bend, retiring in 1970.
He is survived by two daughters - Alma Louise Dreiner of Ocala, FL and Mary Ellen Rich of Basehor, KS.
Private burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN. Arrangements are by DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary North Manchester Chapel.

Donald D. Keel
Donald D. Keel, 45, a rural Pierceton resident, died at 6:25 a.m. Monday in the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Jan. 24, 1957 in Indianapolis, a son of Wilson L. and Mildred (Vanderipe) Keel. His formative years were spent on a farm near South Whitley and he graduated from Whitko High School in 1975.
Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was discharged on May 22, 1979. He was first employed at Manchester Foundry, and for the past 25 years has been employed by the Dalton Foundry in Warsaw.
He was a member of the Centerview Community Church, the Pierceton American Legion Post, A.B.A.T.E. of Indiana, National Rifle Association. H.O.G. of Indiana and the North American Hunting Club.
Surviving relatives include a son, Kevin E. Keel of Silver Lake; two daughters - Amber Lynn Keel of Silver Lake and Jennifer Estep, North Manchester; his parents, Wilson and Mildred Keel of South Whitley, and a brother, Roger Keel of South Whitley.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with the Rev. Roy Blake, pastor of Centerview Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery with the Pierceton American Legion Post presenting the military honors. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Centerview Community Church, or the Child Evangelism Ministries of Winona Lake.

James C. Ball
James C. Ball, 10503S 600W, Amboy, IN, died Sunday, April 28, 2002 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born April 1, 1940 at Peru, IN to Earnest and Malvina (Delong) Ball. He married Beverly K. Titus in Ringold, GA on July 21, 1984.
He retired from Ford Meter Box in 1997 after 25 years. He was a member of the Wabash American Legion Post 15 and the Ford Meter Box Retirement Club. He was an avid fisherman and a great cook. He was an Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly K. Ball and his mother, Malvina Bell, both of Amboy, IN; five sons - Jim (Linnett) Ball of Wabash, Brian (Angela) Ball of Fort Wayne, Aron (Gina) Ball of Amboy, Mick (Melissa) Gray of Lawrenceville, GA and Mark Gray of Gainsville, GA; three daughters - Ginger (Arkie) Welch of Montague, MI, Pam Ball of Fruitport, MI, and Tonya Ball of Franklin, NY; half brothers Don (Lois) Ball of Middleton, IN and Dick (Sally) Ball of Whitehall, MI; brothers Ernie (Barb) Ball and Tom (Ginny) Ball, both of Amboy; and sisters Mrs. Jerry (Lana) Long of Wabash and Mrs. Gordon (Madeline) Bolinger of Kokomo; 21 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Gray, and a granddaughter, April Welch.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel, Wabash with Pastor Terry L. Canfield officiating. Burial will take place in the Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, located at Somerset, IN.
Preferred memorials are to the Wabash County Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Lovelle I. Peas
Lovelle Irene Peas, 86, of 1229 Meadowbrook Lane, Apt. 3, Wabash, IN, died Sunday evening, April 28, 2002 at Millers Merry Manor West, Wabash. She was born May 21, 1915 at Cass County to George A. and Elizabeth K. (Brice) Wilson. She married Arthur Peas on Sept. 9, 1933 in Peru, IN; he died Sept. 20, 1994.
She was an officer and member of he AARP Wabash Chapter, attended Friends Church, and Wabash Church of God. She worked at Resnicks, Wabash Magnetics and Stage Department Stores.
She is survived by sons, Ernest R. (Kay) Peas and Terry Albert (Kathy) Peas, both of Wabash; daughters Mrs. Edmund (Evelyn) Moyer of Goshen, and Mrs. David (Sharon R.) Dwinell of Fort Wayne; sisters Colene Porter of Kokomo, Arvilla Myers of Peru, and Pat Ahlfeld of Dry Ridge, KY;' also nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchldren. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel, Wabash, with Rev. David Phillips and Rev. Terry Canfield officiating. Burial will take place in the Friends Cemetery of Wabash.
Preferred memorials are to the Friends Church or the Wabash Church of God.

Charles L. Strickler
Charles Lee Strickler, 67, of 421 Anna St., Wabash,. IN, died Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Deb Dyson of 2984 W 900 N, North Manchester, IN. He was born May 9, 1934 at Wabash, IN to Arthur and Edith (Leach) Strickler. He retired from Ford Meter Box January 2002 after 24 years and was an Army veteran.
He is survived by three daughters - Lora L. Alexander of Antioch, TN, Mrs. Mike (Deb) Dyson of North Manchester, Mrs. Nathan (Teresa) Wood of Wabash; a son, Mark "Marty" (Shannon) Strickler of Wabash; a sister, Mrs. Tom (Barbara) Schwab of San Antonio, TX; five brothers - William (Naomi) Strickler of Wabash, Howard (Vivian) Strickler of Decatur, IL, Robert (Louise) Strickler of Huntington, IN, Arthur "Gene" (Linda) Strickler of Wabash, and Roger (Sandy) Strickler of Effingham, IL; and nine grandchildren. A granddaughter preceded him in death.
Rev. Rick Stone will officiate at the funeral service to be held Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel, Wabash. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery located at Marion, IN.
Preferred memorials are to the Wabash-Miami Home Healthcare and Hospice.

Linda Marlene Cooper
Linda Marlene Cooper, 46, of 382 Carroll St., Wabash, IN, died Thursday, April 25, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital of Kokomo, IN. She was born June 6, 1955 at Wabash, IN to the late David and Alice Maxine (Wrightsman) Mullin. She married Gary Cooper June 9, 1973.
She was a 1973 graduate of Wabash High School, and was a lifetime resident of Wabash. She served as deputy clerk treasurer of Wabash City.
She was a member of St. Matthews United Church of Christ, Wabash, and Psi Iota Xi sorority.
In addition to her husband, Gary, she is survived by a son Wesley Cooper of Wabash, and a daughter, Heather Cooper, also of Wabash; a granddaughter, Haley Nichole Sesco; and a sister, Pamela Bradley of Wabash.
Funeral service was held Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthews United Church of Christ, Wabash, with Dr. Kent Young officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel was in charge of arrangements, and preferred memorials are to St. Matthews United Church of Christ.

Destini Ann Rish
12-day old infant Destini Ann Rish died Monday, April 22, 2002 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born April 10, 2002 at Marion, IN to Ryan D. and Brandy M. (Mitchell) Rish, of LaFontaine.
In addition to her parents she is survived by paternal great grandparents Comer (Irene) Bilbrey of Marion, and David (Wilma) Rish Sr. of Wabash; maternal great grandparents, Donald (Barbara) Mitchell of Hartford City, IN; paternal grandparents David Rish of Kokomo and Tamara Rish of Wabash; maternal grandfather Donald Mitchell of Kendallville.
Funeral service was held Thursday, April 25, 2002 at McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel with Pastor Doug Phillips officiating. Burial was in Friends Cemetery of Wabash.

Lucille J. Schultz
Services for Lucille J. Schultz, 62, of North Manchester, IN were held Saturday morning, April 20, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel. Pastor J. P. Freeman officiated and burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery of North Manchester.
Pallbearers were Mark Brubaker, Mike Nordman, Scott Schultz, P.J. Schultz, Robbie Applegate, and Josh Rogers.

Frank E. Deneve
Services were held for Frank E. Deneve, 90, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, and formerly of Claypool, IN, on Wednesday afternoon, April 17, 2002 at the Missionary Church of North Manchester. Pastor Dan Binkley and Rev. Glenn Marks officiated and Becky Benz was pianist. Special music was given by Dan and Regina Metzger.
Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Pallbearers included Donald Sturdevant, Chris Shaffer, Christopher Deneve, Timothy Deneve, Mark Baker, and Ryan Baker.
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, No. Manchester Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Velma M. Ihnen
Services were held for former Silver Lake, IN resident Velma Marie Ihnen, 98, of Rochester, IN Friday morning, April 19, 2002 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel.
Pastor Nikki Marker was officiating minister, and Peggy Boggs presided at the organ.
Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery of North Manchester, and pallbearers were Jeremy Melton, Lon Wadkins, Jerry Bowers, Don McCune, Ellis Ihnen, and Joe McCune.

Edna L. Taylor
Edna Lucile Taylor, 81, of 4 Laurel Dr., North Manchester, IN died Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born Aug. 21, 1920 at Bippus, IN to Ervin and Gladys (Baker) Spath. She married Roy Taylor on July 28, 1939 in North Manchester.
She was a member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church, and he United Methodist Women. She was a 1938 graduate of Laketon High School. A homemaker, she has been a resident of Wabash County since 1936. She had a winter residence in Welaka, FL where she attended the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband Roy E. Taylor of North Manchester; a son, Max E. (Pamela) Taylor of Marion, IN; daughters Mrs. Mitchel (Evelyn) Collins of Claypool, IN, Mrs. Joe (Esther) Staley of Peoria, AZ, and Mrs. Eddie (Lois) Beasley of West Lafayette, IN; sisters Mrs. L. D. (Ruth) Shoemaker of Albuquerque, NM, Mrs. Harold (Naomi) Scott of Walbridge, OH, and Mrs. Joe (Cleo) Hippensteel of North Manchester; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One son preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Monday, May 20, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of North Manchester. Pastor Fred Bishop and Pastor David Friends officiated, and burial was in Fairview Cemetery, located at Servia, IN.
Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials are to the North Manchester United Methodist Women.
