Herman H. Schroeder
Herman H. Schroeder, age 90, of Richmond, died Tuesday evening (April 27, 2004) at Pinehurst Combined Level of Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Richmond on October 21, 1913 to Frank and Flora Ahaus Schroeder and had lived in this area all of his life. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and he was a carpenter. He was a member of Saint Andrew Church, American Legion Post 315, Knights of Saint John, the YMI, the Carpenters Union and the Richmond Senior Center.
Survivors include – Wife – Mabel Schroeder, to whom he was married 54 years

Two brothers, Frank Schroeder, Jr. and Richard Schroeder, and a sister, Cleopha "Cody" Schroeder, are also deceased.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday (April 30, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Thursday (April 29, 2004) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Edie Kay Johnson Kannianen
Edie Kay Johnson Kannianen, age 45, of Richmond, died Wednesday morning (April 28, 2004) at the home of her sister. She was born in Richmond on March 14, 1959 to Edwin and Airy Elizabeth Shocklee Johnson and had lived in Richmond most of her life. She was a graduate of Richmond High School and had worked at Dillards. She had managed a jazz club before moving back here from Florida in February of this year.

Her parents, two brothers, Bobby Shepard and Jerry Thompson, and a sister, Carol Smith are also deceased.
Services will be held at 11:00 am (Indiana Time) on Saturday (May 1, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (April 30, 2004) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Indiana Time) at the funeral home. Bobby D. Holland
Bobby D. Holland, age 46, of Richmond, died Monday (May 31, 2004) at his residence. He was born in Richmond on December 18, 1957 to Bobby and Goldie Ella Woods Holland and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and was employed by Primex Plastics. His mother died in 1995.

Maxine M. Dalbey
Maxine M. Dalbey, age 79, of Richmond, died Sunday evening (May 23, 2004) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Bluffton, Indiana on June 23, 1924 to Joseph and Margaret O’Connell Rothermel and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a 1942 graduate of Richmond High School and she was a homemaker. Her husband, Walter I. Dalbey, whom she married on November 10, 1945, died on September 26, 1992.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday (May 27, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. John Ingerman will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing. Friends may call on Wednesday (May 26, 2004) from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Rosamond "Rosie" Justice
Rosamond “Rosie” Justice, age 81, of Richmond, died Thursday (May 27, 2004) at Golden Rule-Beverly Health Care. She was born in Richmond on March 24, 1923 to Joseph and Violet Brucker Corrigon and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in New Paris and was a retired employee of the former Second National Bank where she had worked in the Trust Department. She had been a member of the Richmond Boating Club and of the Ladies of the 40’s. She was a member of Saint Mary Church. Her husband, Everett Justice, died in 1977.

Audrey B. Reddington
Audrey B. Reddington, age 92, formerly of Richmond, died Friday (April 9, 2004) at American Village in Indianapolis. She was born on September 4, 1911 in Richmond to Joseph F. and Mary M. Kreilkamp Wessel and had lived in Richmond all of her life before moving to Indianapolis 6 years ago. She was a graduate of Saint Andrew High School and was a member of Saint Andrew Church. She had worked at the former Ted’s Floral Center and at Neff & Nusbaum Shoes. She was a former member of the Elks Auxillary, theYMI Auxillary, Saint Anne’s Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella. Her husband, Barney H. Reddington, died on October 5, 1989.

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday (April 13, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Andrew Church. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (April 12, 2004) from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Edna Chain Herre
Edna Chain Herre, age 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, June 16, 2004, at her home in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Born December 20, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Dr. Clarence and Charlotte Chain. She was a member of First Christian Church, Richmond, IN. She was a graduate of Overbrook High School and Piercely’s Business School. She had worked at the Insurance Company of North America in Philadelphia. While Living in Richmond, she worked as a secretary in the Earlham College Admissions Office. She enjoyed singing and sang in the First Christian Church choir and had a role in the church’s Easter pageant. “The Dawning” in the 1950’s. She enjoyed playing bridge with the 21st Street neighborhood wives. She loved her family and was a sweet and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She and her husband Richard had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in Florida.
Survivors include her husband Richard Herre; her daughter. Ruth Hickman, Centerville, IN, her son, Dick (Mary) Herre, Jr. , Robinson, IL, sister, Mary Hannum, Lancaster, PA, brother, Dr. Robert (Margaret) Chain, Lancaster, PA, five grandchildren, David J (Pam) Torbeck, Terry (Jennifer) Torbeck, Patricia (Brian)Alexander, Chris Herre, And Cameron Herre. Six great-grandchildren, Chris (Nicole) Torbeck, Jacob Torbeck, Carlie Torbeck, Caitlin Torbeck, Matthew Alexander and Christy Alexander, cousins and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a stillborn daughter, Melody, and brother-in-law, Richard Hannum.
A memorial service for Edna Chain Herre will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday,(June 26, 2004) at First Christian Church, 100 South 10th Street, Richmond with Rev. Kendal Harris officiating.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday (June 26, 2004) from 10:30 am to 11:30am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Music Fund.
Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
William G. "Butch" Walker
William G. “Butch” Walker, age 65, of Fountain City, died Tuesday evening (June 8, 2004) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 5, 1938 to Franklin R. and LaRee Fleenor Walker and had lived in this area since 1980. He had worked as an industrial mechanic and he was an accomplished professional musician having played and recorded with a number of different bands. He enjoyed camping and was an avid motorcyclist. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
