William W. Marshall
William W. Marshall, age 73, of Richmond, died Friday (January 16, 2004) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Shady Springs, West Virginia on March 14, 1930 to John and Heleneleanor Coffman Marshall and had lived here most of his life. He was a retired employee of West End Savings Bank and was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church of God. His first wife, Margie Marshall, died in 1990

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday (January 20, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Wayne Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (January 19, 2004) from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Clark G. Leavell
Clark G. Leavell, age 68, formerly of Richmond, died Sunday (January 18, 2004) at Bradner Village Nursing Center in Marion, Indiana. He was born in Richmond on February 4, 1935 to Cecil and Lilly Stewart Leavell and had lived here most of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and was a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include his daughter – Yevette Leavell of Cincinnati, Ohio
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (January 24, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Martel Winburn will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday (January 24, 2004) from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Marjorie L. White
Marjorie L. White, age 92, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (January 24, 2004) at Golden Rule – Beverly Healthcare. She was born in Nebraska on July 4, 1911 to Orie and Rozella Van Zant Campbell and had lived here most of her life. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Robert L. White, died on April 27, 1988.
Survivors include: Son – Robert E. (wife Ann) White of Richmond
Granddaughter – Sarah Murray of Centerville, Indiana
Great Granddaughter – Morganne Murray
Sisters - Norma McDivitt of Eaton, Ohio
Jane Klink of Orlando, Florida
Nieces & Nephews
Two brothers, Orville and David Campbell, and four sisters, Charlotte Cox, Ann Amos, Ruth Carr and Kay Turman are also deceased
Public services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday (January 26, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. John Hollis will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
There will be no public calling. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Dorothy May French
Dorothy May French, age 92, formerly of Richmond, died Wednesday (February 4, 2004) in the Loudon County Nursing Home in Loudon, Tennessee. She was born in Richmond on September 28, 1911 to Lorenzo Dow and Anna Waking Boswell and had lived in this area many years before moving to Louisiana and then moving to Tennessee about 8 years ago. She was a former member of Saint Andrew Church. Her husband, Robert Y. French, died in 1985.
Survivors include – Daughter – Joyce (husband Fred) Turner of Loudon, Tennessee
Grandsons – Joe Turner of Loudon, Tennessee

Public graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (February 7, 2004) in Lutherania Cemetery. There will be no public calling. Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

George W.P. Anderson
George P.W. Anderson, age 91, who resided at Friends Fellowship Community, died Thursday morning (February 5, 2004) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Binghamton, New York on September 26, 1912 and had lived in Richmond since 1946. He had owned and operated Anderson Bakery with his wife and had worked in real estate sales. He was a member of Webb Lodge #24 F & AM and of the Tarum Shrine Club and had been an active member of the Masonic Glee Club. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church where he was a member of the choir for almost 60 years. His wife, Helen Anderson, died in 1988.
Survivors include – Son – Tom Anderson of North Bend, Ohio
Daughter – Bonnie Wolf of Indianapolis

Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday (February 9, 2004) in First English Lutheran Church. (2727 National Road East). Pastor John Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (February 9, 2004) from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the church. Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Harold R. Wilhelm
Harold R. Wilhelm, age 66, of Richmond, died Monday (February 9, 2004) at his residence. He was born in College Corner, Indiana on September 5, 1937 to Raymond and Floy Duckett Wilhelm. He had worked in sales for Nationwide Insurance where he received a Certificate of Excellence. Prior to insurance sales he had served 34 years with the United States Marine Corp which included two tours of duty in Viet Nam. During his service with the Marine Corp he had worked as Inspector/Detective; as Operations Communication Chief; as a Communication Center Chief and as a Career Planer. He had received the Rifle Expert Badge (3rd Award); Pistol Expert Badge (7th Award); National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Certificate of Appreciation; SEA Service Deployment Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal (7th Award); Navy Unit Commendation; Presidential Unit Citation; Combat Action Ribbon; Viet Nam Service Medal (with three Stars); Organized Marine Corp Reserve Medal (with 1 Star) and the Viet Nam Campaign Medal. He also received numerous other ribbons, citations and commendations. He was a member and past Commandant of the Marine Corp League and a member and past Commander of the Amvets. He was also a charter sponsor of the Marine Corp Heritage Foundation. His wife, Mary Newton Wilhelm, died February 4, 1999.

Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday (2/12) in Riggle – Waltermann. Mortuary. Rev. Ross Moslander will officiate. Burial with military honors will be Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Thursday (2/12) from 1:00 to 3:00 at the funeral home.

Franklin E. DeVito
Franklin E. DeVito, age 63, of Richmond, died Sunday (February 15, 2004) at the Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis. He was born in Richmond on May 18, 1940 to Michael and Mary Senese DeVito and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and was a retired employee of the Richmond Fire Department where he had served 26 years as a professional firefighter. He was a member of Saint Mary Church and a member of Richmond Professional Firefighters Local 1408.
Survivors include – Wife – B. Jane DeVito to whom he was married 44 years
Daughter – Teresa DeVito of Richmond
Sons – Vincent DeVito of Richmond
Anthony (wife Sharon) DeVito of Richmond
Brother – Mick DeVito of Richmond
Grandchildren – Devin DeVito, Nichole DeVito and Christopher Swallow

A son, Steven E. DeVito died on March 7, 1997.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Friday (February 20, 2004) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Mary Church Burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday (February 19, 2004) from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Ida Mae Jones
Ida Mae Jones, age 82, of Richmond, died Monday evening (February 16. 2004) at her residence. She was born on January 23, 1922 in Jellico, Tennessee to Quincy and Florence Long and had lived in this area since 1955. She was a homemaker and a 50 year member of Fairview Baptist Church and was a great witness for Jesus Christ. She enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing and her greatest joy was in time spent with her family. Her husband, George F. Jones, died May 9, 1997.
Survivors include – Daughters – Florence Abney(husband Richard) of Mansfield, Ohio

Alvin Haynes Jones (wife Violet) of Richmond

Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday (February 20, 2004) in Fairview Baptist Church, {1314 Hunt Street.} Rev. John Jones, Rev. Gary Click and Rev. Richard Abney will officiate. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday (February 19, 2004) from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary.
