Loyce L. Obermeyer age 75 of Overland Park, KS, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday January 12, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 2646 S. 34th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Burial in the Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. The family request contributions in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association.
The family and friends mourn the loss of Loyce L. Obermeyer, a devoted wife, loving mother and Grandma, caring sister and sincere friend. She was born February 28, 1932 in Lacygne, KS to Raymond and Altha Craig. After marrying Kenneth she traveled throughout the U.S. during his military career prior to settling in Shawnee, KS. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Obermeyer and her eight loving children, Rebecca L., Mike, Loyce Cathleen, Cindy, Andrew, John Eric, Sherry, Mary and their spouses, 19 Grandchildren and their spouses, 3 Great Grandchildren and her sister Mrs. Joyce William She was preceded in death by her 3 brothers and a sister.
Leslie Madden
Leslie Eugene Madden, 54, of Shawnee, KS, passed away, Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Services will be 10 a.m., Monday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the chapel with a Rosary at 6 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House, C/O Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64114.
Les was born in Kansas City, KS. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene F. Madden He is survived by sons, Shaun (Emily) Madden and Gene Madden; his mother, Shirley Chance; sisters, Brenda (Paul) Rushton and Vickie Smith; a brother, Terry Madden and one granddaughter.

Mrs. Moske is survived by a daughter Jane (Theodore) Davis, Shawnee, Kansas, two grandchildren Chris (Angie) Davis, Shawnee, Kansas, Cindy (Jamie) Hennen, Olathe, Kansas three great- grandchildren Logan Davis, Annie and Bella Hennen.

Kenneth E. Martin Sr., 76, Shawnee KS, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at The Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis J. Martin and a son Kenneth E. Martin Jr and grandson Paul Martin. Survivors include four son’s Rich (Angie) Martin, Lake of the Ozarks, MO; Randy Martin, Shawnee, KS; Ron (Lynn) Martin, Boston MA; Russ (Cindy) Martin, Lake of the Ozarks, MO; daughter in law Cindy Martin, Shawnee, KS; one brother Hank ( Mary) Berry, Lawson, MO; four sisters Iona, Leona, Maxine, and Bunny, 7 grandchildren John, Jake, Kayla, Jimmy, Kenneth III, Jessica and Dallas, and five great grandchildren.
Kathleen Miller
Kathleen A. Miller, 82, Olathe, Kansas, died January 11, 2008 of Congestive Heart failure at Villa St. Frances in Olathe. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m.; Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, at The Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Ward High School 708 N. 18th St, Kansas City, Kansas 66104.
Kathleen was born December 10, 1925 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to John and Evelyn O’Donovan. Kathleen moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1963 and later lived in Prairie Village from 1968-2003. Kathleen retired from Bishop Ward High School after more than 20 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Principal; she was also a Lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi with over 30 years of perfect Attendance. Kathleen loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, reading and the bridge club with her friends. She also loved her family history and travel and many trips involved her children and grandchildren, all over Canada and the U.S. stopping at as many Forts as she could spot on a map. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents John and Evelyn O’Donovan, her first husband R.L. “Les” Russell in 1958; second husband Donald E. “Dutch” Miller in 1999, two Sisters Margaret Josling, and Averil Kohen. Survivors include one daughter Gail (David) Hartwig Berthoud, Colorado one son Paul (Kim) Russell, Olathe Kansas, one brother Ronald (Eunice) O’Donovan, Winnipeg, two brother-in-law’s Jack Kohen, Toronto, Bill Irvin, Kansas City, one sister-in-law Irene McBratney, Kansas City, five grandchildren Mark, Michael, David, Keri, and John, six great-grandchildren Olivia, Aria, Zachary, Drake, Brock, and Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews of Canada and the U.S.
Joy Dobbins
Joy A. Dobbins, 77, of Overland Park, KS, passed away, Friday, January 11, 2008. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 – 4 p.m., Sunday at the chapel.
Joy was born in Kansas City, KS. She owned Joy’s Florist in Shawnee for 13 years, retiring in 1986. Her husband, Darell Dobbins, died in 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Ginger Michael, Olathe, KS and Kim Parish, Smithville, MO; a son, Darell Dobbins, Jr., Harrison, OR; a brother, Charles Gilyeat, six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Josephine McLeod
Josephine passed on to a better place on Sunday December 16, 2007. Josephine was the oldest of nine children born to Frank and Catherine Van Derhagen on December 29, 1918. She lived in Shawnee on the family truck garden helping in any way that she could. At eighteen she met the man of her dreams, Bob McLeod Sr. They were married in 1940 and spent the next 52 years together chasing their dreams. In 1943 they had a son Bob McLeod Jr. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Sr. in 1992. Also her parents Frank and Catherine Van Derhagen, two brothers Bill and Bud Van Derhagen. She leaves behind her son Bob Jr. her sisters, Lucille Raley, Mary Reynolds, Rosie Mckown and Susie Fanning, two brothers Frank Van Derhagen and Maurice (Pee Wee) Van Derhagen. She was also Aunt Jo to her many Nieces and Nephews whom she adored and they adored her right back. We have wonderful memories of Josephine and those we will cherish. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday December 21, 2007 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
