Frances Eileen Welsh
Frances Eileen Welsh, 88 Overland Park, Kansas died January 13, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday January 16, 2008 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Wednesday prior to service time at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice or to Southridge Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Welsh was born January 12, 1920 in Creighton, MO. She was a member of the Southridge Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star Nova Chapter, and employed by the IRS Department of the U.S. Government.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Edward Welsh, parents, Bertha and Mark Dixon, brothers, Charles and James, and sister, Jennetta Miller. Survivors include 3 children, son Jerry Dixon and wife Georgette, daughter Sherryl Spies and husband Don, son Chuck Welsh and wife Elaine. 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sisters Nadine Baker, husband Tom, and Virginia Kaneen, brother in law Eugene Welsh and wife Patricia and several nieces and nephews.
Frances Coe
Frances F. Coe, 94, Rockford Illinois, died January 16, 2008 at the Brickford House in Rockford Illinois. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at The Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with visitation one hour prior to service time. Frances was born April 27, 1913 in Allen County, Kansas to Hal and Altha Green. Frances was a resident of the Kansas City, and Shawnee, Kansas area for over 60 years and was employed by the University of Kansas Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Hospital as a Cardiology Technician and a medical stenographer.
Frances attended church services at the Shawnee Christian Church, Roanoke Presbyterian Church and Chapel services at the Brickford House; she was a great dedicated mother and loved the Lord. Frances was preceded in death by her parents a brother Harry Green, and two husbands Woodrow Tague and James B. Coe and special family member Nathan Uptegraft. Survivors include three sons Robert (Mary) Tague, Elkin, NC, Terry (Judy) Tague, Rockford, IL, and Dennis (Monica) Tague, Pounding Mill, VA, three grandchildren Angie, Chris, and Rick Tague. Special family members Michael (Gwen) Coe and children Sean and Eric, Peggy Obrien and daughter Fleur Marasco one nephew Walt (Sue) Tague. The family would like to thank the staff of the Brickford House for the loving care given to their mother.
Flora Blessing
Flora C. Blessing, 85, of Shawnee, KS, passed away, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 10 – 11 a.m., Friday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church of Shawnee, 11400 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS 66203 or the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Blessing was born in Reevesville, IL. She worked in the cafeteria at Hocker Grove Jr. High, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawnee and the D.A.R.. She was preceded in death by a son, Earl Blessing in 1994 and her husband, Carl Blessing in 1999. She is survived by a son, Carl R. (Lynn) Blessing and a daughter, Karen S. (Richard) Blessing-Miller, all of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Evelyn Elizabeth Osborn
Evelyn Elizabeth Osborn, formerly of Shawnee , Kansas died January 13, 2008 in Valley Falls, Kansas. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday January 16, 2008 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday at the Chapel. Evelyn was born October 22, 1917 in Kansas City, KS to Fred and Emma Bean McCarty. Evelyn was a 1935 graduate of Argentine High School. She married Edwin Samuel Osborn Feb. 11, 1944. They were married 53 years until his death and lived in Shawnee for over 50 years. She was a member of Bristol Hill United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Tirzah Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is Preceded in death by her parents and her brother Fredrick McCarty. She leaves behind a daughter Judy and her husband Dr. James Rider, Valley Falls, KS; Son Gary and wife Jennifer Osborn, Olathe, KS; Grandchildren, Christopher Osborn (Melissa), Olathe, KS, Jeffrey Osborn, Gardner, KS, Melissa Osborn, Olathe, KS, Jared Rider (Carrie) Olathe, KS, Jordan Rider, KC, MO and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Ethel Quinn
Ethel N. Quinn passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 at the age of 88. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, Jan. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; entombment in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6-8 PM, Thursday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where a rosary recitation will be at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Joseph Grade School, 5901 Flint, Shawnee, KS 66203.
Ethel retired from Montgomery Ward in 1984 and enjoyed spending time in her garden, painting and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, parents, Obed and Dora (Borgstadt) Flandermeyer, two grandsons, Cary Campbell and Dion Quinn, three sisters, Gladys Maxwell, Wilma Schnakenberg, Hazel Payne and one brother, Obed (Bud) Flandermeyer, Jr. She very much loved her family, especially the grandchildren her three daughters brought into the world. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Middleton and husband, John, Kearney, MO, Terri Quinn, Overland Park, KS and Joanie Moritz and husband, Dan, Overland Park, KS; four sisters, Ora Riesterer, Concordia, MO, Helen Erdwins, Lillian, AL, Sharon Piontek, Gladstone, MO and Leanna Flandermeyer, Prairie Village, KS. Ethel also leaves five grandchildren, Kristin Campbell, Casie Campbell, Sean Quinn, Brandon Moritz and Janelle Moritz and one great grandchild, Kyrah Campbell. They will truly miss Grandma Ethel as will everyone who had the privilege to get to know this special woman.
Dorothy Jewell (Nannie) Schindorff
Dorothy Jewell (Nannie) Schindorff, 88, Shawnee, KS passed away January 5, 2008 at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Dorothy was born March 25, 1919 in Sedalia, MO to Edward and Myrtle (Shull) Bryant. She married Hugh Schindorff on January 7, 1940. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Lenexa United Methodist Church. Nannie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and caretaker who enjoyed cards, fishing and crafts, but most of all enjoyed feeding family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Polly Lee, Opal Jenkins and Edna Kennedy; and three brothers, Edward Bryant, Earl Bryant and David Bryant. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Hugh Schindorff; two daughters, Donnita Coble, Brownsville, TX and LaVona Richerson, Shawnee, KS; son, Hubert Schindorff and his wife, Carole, Bella Vista, AR; four sisters, Myrtie Sleighter, Sedalia, MO, Nancy Cooper, Lenexa, KS, Wilda Haggard, Plains, MT, and Ida Kennedy, Lakewood, CA; brother, Donald Bryant, O’Fallon, MO; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee; burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Dolores Virginia Brown, 83, Lenexa, KS passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2008. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 8 at the Harvest Ridge Covenant Church. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m., Monday at the church.
