Delores Dianne Weber
Delores Dianne Weber, 64, Shawnee, KS passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008 at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16 at the Shawnee Church of the Nazarene; burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday at the church. Mrs. Weber was born April 3, 1943. She was a cook for the Shawnee Mission School District for 15 years and was a member of the Shawnee Church of the Nazarene. She is surived by her two sons, Joseph Charles Weber and James Richard Weber and his wife, Allison all of Shawnee, KS.

Delores H. Sauer, 70, Shawnee, KS passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Trinity Nursing and Rehab Center, Merriam, KS. Graveside services were 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 23 at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Cove, AR.
David Lawrence Stewart, Jr.
David Lawrence Stewart Jr., age 61, of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Kansas City Hospice House. The celebration of his life will begin with a visitation at 4:00 followed by a memorial service at 5:00 on Tuesday, April 1, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
“David the Good” was a gentle and kind spirit who had a profound effect on the many lives he touched. He was a father of three and a grandfather of four who uniquely enjoyed and shared a deep and inspiring bond with him.
David was born on April 25, 1946 in Kansas City, MO to Charlot Murry Stewart and David Lawrence Stewart Sr. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Kansas.
Following his passion for poetry and literature he became a Professor of English. David held positions at KU, UMKC (where he launched their English as a Second Language Program) and DeVry University.
In service to his country he attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. From 1970-72 he served as a translator at NATO headquarters in Izmir, Turkey.
David is survived by his wife of 18 years Karen Jo Graves Stewart, his parents Charlot and David L. Stewart, Sr., Overland Park, KS, his children, Sarah Randolph, Lawrence,KS , Rachel Church, Fresno, CA and Jason Lindsay of Shawnee, KS and their families, his sister Lisa Scarborough of Kansas City, MO and brother Mark Stewart of Roeland Park, KS and their families.

Charlotte Ann Hilworth, 66, Overland Park, Kansas passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at home. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at The Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Visitation will be 12 Noon – 2 p.m. at the Chapel burial will be in Lenexa Cemetery. Charlotte is survived by her husband Michael of 43 years, father -in-law, Jerry Tamura Hilworth, one daughter Holly Kathleen (Jeffrey) Durzo, Shiloh, IL; one son Scott Tamura ( Heather) Hilworth Wichita, KS; one brother Garey (Jean) Coker Marietta, GA six grandchildren Dayton, Jacob, Brooks, Brianna, Gabrielle, and Dylan.
Charles Courtney
Charles A. Courtney, 92, Olathe, Kansas, passed away December 28, 2007 at Olathe Medical Center. Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2008 at The Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Charles was born in Lansing, Kansas on August 4, 1915 to Jesse and Martha (Cook) Courtney. He owned Courtney Jewelers in Mission Kansas for over twenty years. Charles was also a member of Sertoma of Mission and Leawood. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Lois “Harriet” and a brother Robert E. Courtney. Survivors include his sons Paul (Diane) Courtney, Port Ludlow, WA; Robert (Lila) Courtney, Olathe, KS; and Wayne (Susan) Courtney, Shawnee, OK; 5 grandchildren, Shelley Marshall, Camerin Courtney, Kelly Courtney, Heather Bush, and Jami Roby; and 4 great grandchildren.
Carl Gustaf Tigerstrom
Carl Gustaf Tigerstrom, 82, Parkville, MO (formerly of Shawnee, KS) passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at the Bishop Spencer Place, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee; burial at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Carl was born August 6, 1925 in Boone, IA to Gustaf and Judith (Jacobson) Tigerstrom. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. He retired as Assistant Station Master at the Kansas City Terminal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 327 and the Maple Hill Baptist Church. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Tigerstrom, 1999, parents and two sisters, Delores and Glendora. Survivors include his two sons, Larry Tigerstrom his wife, Rae, Parkville, MO and Paul Tigerstrom and wife, Sandy, Kansas City, KS; sister, Ruth Aspengren, Hemet, CA; three grandchildren, Kelli Tigerstrom, Jamie Cool and Paul Tigerstrom, Jr.; and four great grandchildren, Kohl Tigerstrom, Christian Tigerstrom, Adan Tigerstrom and October Tigerstrom.

Betty Jean Kohrs, age 86 of Olathe, KS passed away December 21, 2007. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday December 29, 2007 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Betty was preceded in death by her husband George after 69 years of marriage. After retiring Betty and George enjoyed many trips to Branson, MO to camp and fish with family and friends. Survivors include; Daughter Debra J.
