In the obituary for Eunice E. Moore in Tuesday's Register, surviving grandchildren Aaron, Zachary and Jordan Moore were listed incorrectly as the children of Bill and Sandy Moore of Olathe. Chai Ok Lee
Chai Ok Lee, 81, of Kansas City, Mo., mother of former Iolan the Rev. Sean Lee, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, at her daughter's home in Monterey, Calif. She is also survived by her husband, Chai Sin; two additional sons, Romulus Lee and his wife, Ginna of Seattle, Wash., and Edwin Dong-Oo Lee and his wife, Mi-Young of South Korea; a daughter-in-law, the former Brenda Johnson Lee of Roswell, N.M.; four daughters, Mignon Higgins of Monterey, Calif., Zenia Lee and her husband, Curt Wood of Lawrence, Miienda Lee-Dean and her husband, Stuart Dean of Montclair, N.J., and Adela Fleming and her husband, Allan of Kansas City, Mo.; and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first child, George. She was born in Hamhung, Korea (now part of North Korea) on April 13, 1921, the daughter of Yu Hong-Sun and Yu Ok-Sun. Her father was governor of Kangwon province. She graduated from Yongsaeng Girls High School, a missionary run school in Hamhung, attended Nihon Womens University in Tokyo, and graduated from Ewha Womens College in Seoul with a degree in music. On May 25, 1945, she married Chai Sin Lee. In 1948 she and her husband came to the United States to study music, eventually settling in Kansas City. She attended Lindenwood College and later received her degree in voice from the University of Kansas City, Conservatory of Music, which is now part of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She and her husband were among the first Koreans to settle in Kansas City and were founding members of the Korean American Society in Kansas City and the Kansas City Korean Church. In 1972 Chai Ok became a citizen of the United States. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Mo. Burial in the Mt. Moriah South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Marjorie E. Caldwell
Word has been received of the death of Marjorie E. Caldwell, 98, a longtime Humboldt resident who recently moved to McPherson. Funeral arrangements and additional information about Caldwell's life will be published when announced by Johnson-Kunkel Mortuary of Humboldt, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Violet Bauer
Violet Genevieve Bauer, 94, of rural Elsmore died Thursday, Dec. 5, at Allen County Hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1908, on the family farm southwest of Elsmore to Walter and Anna Samp. She was graduated from Savonbrug High School in 1925. She attended the University of Kansas and earned her teaching certificate in 1927. She taught in rural schools from 1928 to 1938, including Salem, Morehead, Scotland and Savonburg. One Aug. 25, 1934, she married J. Ralph Bauer. They made their home in rural Elsmore on the family farm where she was born and spent the rest of her life. He died in 1997. She was an avid gardener, active community member and a good seamstress and cook. She was a member of the First Christian Church at Savonburg, but attended the Temple Baptist Church in Erie in later years. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Bauer of Elsmore and Mary Ann Magnuson and her husband, Dr. Max Patterson of Iola; three sons, Don and his wife, Donna, of Iola, Duane and his wife, Donajean, of Fort Scott, and Darrell and his wife, Linda, of Erie; a sister-in-law, Doris Bauer of Elsmore; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A grandson, Daniel Bauer, and a son-in-law, Dr. Larry Magnuson, died earlier. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Bill Bingham will officiate. Burial will be in Elsmore Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Temple Baptist Church in Erie or the Elsmore United Methodist Church.

Esther Geer
Esther M. Geer of Iola died Thursday, Dec. 5, at Windsor Place in Iola at the age of 94. She was born April 19, 1908, the daughter of Elijah and Margarett Eschenbrenner Savage. She attended the Iola and Prairie Dell Schools. On Dec. 23, 1926, she married Floyd Geer in Fort Scott. They made their home in the Iola and Gas areas. In the 1930s she worked at the Ideal Laundry and in the 1940s and 1950s she cared for elderly people along with children in her home. She liked flowers and to garden. Mr. Geer died in 1985. She is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Highland Cemetery. Elder Leon Morrow will officiate. Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Chapman
Raymond R. Chapman, 85, of Wichita, father of Lovetta Russell of Iola, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Via Christi Riverside Medical Center in Wichita following several months of ill health. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Mike Russell of Iola; son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Karen Chapman of Houston; another daughter, Renee Chapman of Wichita; two brothers, Leonard L. of Wichita and George W. Jr. of Toronto; a sister, Lola Johnson of Tomball, Texas; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille; a brother, J.K. Chapman of Tucson, Ariz., and two sisters, Cleo Moore of Wichita and Mae Melton of Wynnewood, Okla. He was born Sept. 20, 1917, in Frisco, Okla., to George Washington and Estelle Duncan Chapman. He grew up in Guthrie, Okla., but in his mid-teens he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and lived at the 101 Boy's Ranch in Ponca City, Okla., until he reached manhood. He was married to Lucille Morrison of Coalgate, Okla., for 48 years before her death in 1989. He served in World War II with the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment where he was wounded in action in Germany and received a purple heart. He attended and completed training at the Wichita Barber College on the GI Bill and was the retired owner of the Bitting Building Barber Shop in downtown Wichita, where he worked for more than 50 years. He was a member of Westside Christian Church, Albert Pike Lodge No. 303, Golden Age Clubs of Wichita, and was a delegate to the Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention. The body has been cremated. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 14 at Cochran Mortuary Chapel in Wichita. The Rev. David McCord will officiate. Interment will follow at Old Mission Wichita Park Mausoleum. A memorial has been established with the American Stroke Association.

'Speedy' Kennedy
Duane "Speedy" Kennedy, 65, of Fort Scott died Tuesday, April 15, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. Mo. He was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Walker, Mo., the son of Lester and Ruby Scott Kennedy. He was a 1955 graduate of Nevada High School. He attended Fort Scott Community College. On Oct. 6, 1963, he married Irene Fink in Moran. He owned and operated the Nu Grill, White Grill and Kin-Fok's restaurants prior to his retirement. He was a 30-year member of Fort Scott's Elks Lodge No. 579. He received his nickname "Speedy" by driving his No. 13 purple stock car. His hobbies included owning and admiring classic cars, delivering food baskets to needy families at Christmas and spending time with his grandchildren. His wife survives, as do two daughters, Linda Lawrence, and her husband, Terry, and Cheryl Combs, and her husband, Mike, of Fort Scott; his mother, Ruby Kennedy of Deerfield, Mo.; a brother, Scott of Deerfield; a sister, Donnis Moore of Fair Grove, Mo.; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; a nephew and two nieces. His father and a nephew, Denny Simmons, died earlier. The Rev. Kevin Moyers will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. Friday funeral services at Community Christian Church, 1919 S. Horton in Fort Scott. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel in Fort Scott. Hardy services
Funeral services for Kenneth L. "Ken" Hardy of Iola, whose death Monday was reported in Tuesday's Register, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Iola. The Rev. Steve Traw will officiate. Burial will be in Kincaid Cemetery. Memorials to the First Christian Church or Iola Lions Club may be left at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels. He was born June 29, 1920, on a farm near Bayard, the son of Howard L. and Jessie P. Dougherty Hardy. He grew up in the Bayard, Mildred and Kincaid area. He was graduated from Kincaid High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his military duty he worked in the oil fields in numerous states for 38 years as a field foreman. He was working for Ashland Oil at the time of his retirement. He was a member of Iola Lions Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars. On June 21, 1941, he married Trella I. Miller. They made their home in Kincaid and then for a brief time in Wichita before returning to Kincaid. They moved to Iola in 1987. She survives, as do two sons, Kendall of Huntington, Ind., and Kim of Lima, Ohio; two daughters, Kendra Heimlich of Iola and Kay Jordan of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a brother, Harold of Pittsburg; a sister, Ruby Volz of Wichita; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A brother and three sisters died earlier.

'Shine' Burt
V.L. "Shine" Burt, 88, of Osawatomie died Thursday, Aug. 7, at Life Care Center in Osawatomie. He was born April 4, 1915, in Uniontown, the son of Lyman Floyd and Myrtle Shinn Burt. He had been employed by the city of Olathe, retiring as chief mechanic in 1977. On Sept. 25, 1938, he married Julia Geraldine "Jerry" Abbott in Uniontown. She died in 1989. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Huffman and her husband, John, Lane, and Jayne Schlenker and her husband, Mark, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; a son, Gary and his wife, Ruth, Chiloquin, Ore.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorthael Smith, Moran, and Carol Peterson, Boise, Idaho. A son Terry died in 1964. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown. Inurnment will be in Klamath Falls, Ore. Edna Richert
Edna Richert, 91, Globe, Ariz., sister of Doris Gorden Diebolt of Iola, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Copper Mountain Inn in Globe. She is also survived by a brother, Alan Weide, Lindsborg, and another sister, Wilma J. Terhune, Austin, Texas. She was born in Yates Center and had lived in Arizona for 57 years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the church's women's circle, Sweet Adelines, and Cobre Valley Center for the Arts in Globe. Memorial services were Sept. 27 at St. Paul's in Globe.

Betty Neathery
Former Iolan Betty Lou Neathery, 76, Raytown, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 4. She was born Nov. 19, 1926, in Iola, the daughter of Bert and Mabel Wingler Zink. She was graduated from LaHarpe High School in 1945. She was employed by Pittman Hills (Raytown School District) and Volume Services. She is survived by three brothers, Duane Zink and his wife, Betty, Iola, Jerry Zink and his wife, Velma, Spring Hill, and Larry Zink and his wife, Phyllis, Kansas City, Mo.; seven children; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, Bobby R. Neathery, and a son, died earlier. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.

Knight services
Memorial services for Samuel Clare Knight of Chandler, Okla., formerly of Iola and Moran, whose death Sunday was reported in Monday's Register, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gas. Gene Smerchek will officiate. Interment has taken place in Moran born Nov. 17, 1907, in Moran, the son of Samuel C. and Christa Rapp Knight. He grew up in Moran and was graduated from Moran High School. He operated the family hardware store in Moran with his father and brothers until it burned. He then worked as city clerk for Moran until his retirement. On April 21, 1936, he married Ona Wilma Likely in Iola. They made their home in Moran for more than 50 years. They moved to Iola in 1989. She died in 1993. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He is survived by a daughter Sandra Archer, Chandler; a nephew he raised, Earl Wayne Night, California; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A grandson, Scott Lewis, and three brothers, Earl, Glenn and Carl, died earlier.

Elmer Brubaker
Former Westphalia resident Elmer J. Brubaker, 90, of Harris, died Sunday, Oct. 5, at his home. He was born Sept. 29, 1913, in Holmsville, Neb., the son of John I. and Cora L. Fisher Brubaker. He moved to Westphalia when he was 21 2. He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Westphalia. He was a dairyman and grain farmer. He sold his farm and retired in 1970. He liked to garden. On Dec. 23, 1935, he married Virginia Imogene Wray. She survives, as do three sons, Loren and Marlin, Harris, and Verl, California; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Eichman, Garnett, and Ola Barnhart, Harris. A brother, Charles, and two sisters, Emma Eichman and Mary Filbrun, died earlier. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapels in Garnett. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Old German Baptist Church in Westphalia. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery in Westphalia.

Fredrick Geffert
Fredrick Geffert, Humboldt, died today, Oct. 7, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt. Information about his life and funeral arrangements will be published when provided by Johnson-Kunkel Mortuary in Humboldt.

'Kathy' Schneider
Kathleen M. "Kathy" Schneider of LaHarpe died Sunday, Oct. 5, at her home surrounded by her family following a long struggle with cancer. She was 51. She was born Oct. 3, 1952, to William and Suzanne Blaser Carry of Grandview, Mo. She was graduated from Ruskin High School in 1970. She was married in 1972. Her son Steven was born in 1976. She attended college from 1982 to 1983. She was married to Richard "Dick" Schneider Oct. 29, 1988. She was a homemaker. She liked to quilt. She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Steven Jones, Overland Park; a stepdaughter, Sandra Schneider, Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Nancy Carry, Kansas City, Teresa Sullivan, Big Cabin, Okla., and Alice Robertson, San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Mark Carry, Reston, Va., Kevin Carry, Austin, Texas, Brian Carry, Grandview, Mo., and John Carry, Rosharon, Texas; and a stepgranddaughter, Avalon. Her parents died earlier. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Iola. Pastor Jorge Baute will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels. Arbutus Esslinger
Arbutus Thomas Esslinger of Broken Arrow, Okla., formerly of Iola, died Monday, Dec. 1 in Broken Arrow. She was 78. She was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Humboldt, the daughter of Ennis and Goldie Mae Starkey. She was a salesperson at Weaver's Department Store in Lawrence for more than 40 years. She liked to travel, was a member of the Broken Arrow Newcomers Club and a coffee social group. She is survived by two daughters, Sheri L. Butler, Ocala, Fla.; and Jan A. Harris, Sperry, Okla.; a son, John M. Thomas Jr., Lawrence; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John M. Thomas and Edgar Esslinger. Services were this afternoon at the Community of Christ Church in Tulsa, Okla. Interment followed in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow.

Kameron Knavel
Kameron Austin Knavel, stillborn daughter of Keith and DeAnn Knavel of Liberal, died Friday, Jan. 30, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She is also survived by a sister, Karma Alexandria Knavel of the home; her paternal grandparents, Don and Brenda Knavel, LaHarpe; her maternal grandparents, Earl and Cheryl Feese, Liberal; and her great-grandparents, Mary Knavel and Avis Cooper, LaHarpe, and Ruth Feese of Liberal. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church in Liberal. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad for a number of years. He then worked for M.E.C. Company of Neodesha traveling across the United States building feed mills until his retirement. On Aug. 18, 1949, he married Mary Terrell in Burt community north of Yates Center. They made their home in the Yates Center area, moving to Humboldt in 1955 from Leon. She survives at the home, as does a stepdaughter, Kathryn Cox of Austin, Texas. Two brothers, Jesse and Noel, and a sister, Naomi Wright, died earlier.

John Osborne
John Perry Osborn of West Plains, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 30, at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was 62. The Elk County native was born July 17, 1941, to Lloyd Perry and Gladys Fay Kaiserling Osborn. His mother died when he was five. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Marvel Lewis Osborne. He attended grade school in Elk Falls and was graduated from Howard, Kan., High School in 1960. He served three years in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Lee, Va., and Fort Ord, Calif. He returned to Kansas and worked for several years in agriculture prior to taking a position with Emerson Motors, a division of Emerson Electric Independence. He retired on a medical disability from Emerson several years ago and moved with his wife, Marian Sharp, to West Plains. She died in 1999. He was a member of Central Calvary Baptist Church in West Plains. Survivors include four brothers, Fred and his wife, Kwang, Garland, Texas, Harold, Fresno, Calif., Tom, Alexandria, Va., and Bill, Andover; two sisters, Beth and her husband, Jay Alloway, Manhattan, and Merry Baxter, Wichita; two stepchildren, Brenda Danley, Moline, and Bob Scofield, Wichita; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels. Lloyd Houk will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola. Marie Mauk
Marie Mauk, 80, of LaHarpe died Wednesday, March 31, at her home. She was born April 7, 1923, in Chanute, the daughter of George and Maude Pistole Hobert. She grew up in Chanute. She moved to LaHarpe in 1937. She was graduated from LaHarpe High School in 1942. She worked for the LaHarpe Post Office from 1942 to 1958. She was a homemaker. She was a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6324 Ladies Auxiliary. She had held an office position since 1946 and was the senior vice president of the organization. She was a long-time member of the Kansas Old-Time Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers. She served as secretary for the singing group for 26 years. On June 28, 1947, she married Russell Roy Mauk in Erie. They made their home in LaHarpe. He survives at Moran Manor; as do a daughter Janette Mauk, Pittsburg; a sister, Norma Troxel, Iola; and several nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Forest, Clarence, Woody and Eugene Hobert, and two sisters, Lissie Thurman and Cora "Connie" O'Farrell, died earlier. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Lloyd Houk will officiate. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Hilda Hart
Hilda I. Hart, former Iola resident, died Wednesday, March 31, at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, Mo., at the age of 92. She was born Dec. 9, 1911, in Pearl, Ill., the daughter of Hallie B. and Nettie Opal Calvin Staley. The family moved to Mounds, Okla., when she was 5 and then to Mountain View, Mo. Her mother died when she was 9. Two years later the family moved to Amoret, Mo., and then to Worland, Mo. Her father died and she and her four brothers were separated and sent to different homes. The family Hart was staying with moved to Iola when she was 16. On Jan. 9, 1932, she married Vernon H. Hart. They made their home in the Iola area. They lived in the East Lawn Addition for 36 years. He died in 1989. In 1995 she moved to the Townhouse. She later lived with her son in Chanute before moving to Butler, Mo., where she was living with her granddaughter at the time of her death. She enjoyed yardwork. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iola for 55 years. She worked with the Allen County Hospital Auxiliary and on the election board. She was an active volunteer in Butler and was attending Calvary Baptist Church in Adrian, Mo. She is survived by a brother, Floyd Staley and his wife, Laura Lee, Oskaloosa, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Bill Hart and his wife, Ruth, Independence, Mo.; a grandson, Jeff Storrer and his wife, Diana, Iola; two granddaughters, Becky Settles and her husband, Jim, Butler, Mo., and Summer Hart, Ephrata, Wash.; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and two stepgrandchildren. An infant daughter, Saundra Sue, another daughter, Donna Storrer, and a great-grandson, Joshua Storrer, died earlier. Family and friends will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels to leave for 1:30 p.m. graveside services in Highland Cemetery. Pastor Max Bowlin will officiate. Viola Gerdsen
Due to incorrect information provided the Register for the Viola Gerdsen obituary published in Wednesday's paper, it was reported she was preceded in death by a sister Gertrude Brook. Her sister's name was Gertrude Crooke.

Dorothy Hawes
Dorothy V. Hawes of Welda died today, April 1, at Golden Heights Living Center in Garnett. She was 91. She was born Sept. 10, 1913, in Kansas City, to John W. and Bessie May Harman Tuttle. She was a homemaker. She moved to Welda in 1969 from Kansas City. On Sept. 15, 1929, she married Lloy Hawes in Kansas City. He died in 1983. She is survived by two sons, Robert E., Kansas City, and John R., Welda; two daughters, Bonnie Rusk, Welda, and Betty Mayden, Liberty, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers, a sister, and a grandson, William L. Rusk, died earlier. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City. The Rev. Jerry McCarty will officiate. Memorials to Abdellah Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital Fund may be left at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel in Garnett.

Franklin services
Funeral services for Eva Mae Franklin of Humboldt, whose death Monday was reported in Tuesday's Register, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Humboldt. The Revs. Gary Marshall and Otis Crawford will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt. Franklin will lie in state Friday at the Johnson-Kunkel Mortuary in Humboldt. Memorials to Poplar Grove Baptist Church may be left at the mortuary. She was born Jan. 14, 1911, in Humboldt, to William Russell and Lula Belle (Woodard) Wood. She attended Humboldt High School. On Nov. 29, 1932, she married Charles Pleasant Franklin in Humboldt. He preceded her in death. Franklin worked for many years as the custodian at the Humboldt post office and worked from her home sewing for many people throughout Humboldt. She was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church and was the church secretary. She worked with Meals On Wheels. She was a member of the Vashti Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include, a daughter, Jacqueline Mae Henderson, Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Thomas Henry, Wichita, and Terence Phillip, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; and eight great-grandchildren. An infant child, Charles Franklin Jr., a brother, William Wood, and a sister, Emma Augusta Tinch, died earlier.

Martha J. Noyes
Martha J. Noyes of LaHarpe died Tuesday, June 1, at her home at the age of 66. She was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Ottawa, the daughter of Ivan and Lucy Noble Ball. She was graduated from Ottawa High School and then from nurse's school in Kansas City. On Jan. 10, 1959, she married Ronald L. Noyes in Ottawa. The couple lived in Kansas City, Garnett and Ottawa. She worked as a licensed practical nurse in hospitals and nursing homes in Garnett and Ottawa. The couple moved to LaHarpe in 2001. He died in 2002. She was a member of the Iola Elks Lodge. She is survived by two sons, Don, Welda, and Rick, LaHarpe, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels. The Rev. Gary Benjamin will officiate.

William Ball
Former Iola resident William Ball, 85, died Friday, May 28, in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane; two daughters, Penny Oliver and her husband, Donald, and Sally Cole and her husband, James; and his grandchildren, Kristen Banks and her husband, Doug, Tricia Oliver and her fiance, Michael Herskovitz, Seth Cole and his wife, Maureen, and Hannah David and her husband, Jim; and two great-grandsons. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 4308 W. Davis St., in Conroe, Texas. Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Conroe. Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home in Houston is in charge of arrangement.

Cora M. Seastedt, 92, of Humboldt died Tuesday, June 1, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt. Information about her life and funeral arrangements will be published when provided by Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel.

Elsie Henry
Former Moran resident Elsie Wood Henry, 93, of Garnett, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Anderson County Hospital in Garnett. She was born Dec. 22, 1910, in Moran to Will and Mary Baker Wood. She was a telephone operator in Paola and Moran prior to her marriage. On April 30, 1930, she was married to Robert W. Henry in Garnett. He died in 1995. She is survived by two daughters, Jeanine Zentner and her husband, George, and Twyla Duryea, Garnett; two brothers, Carrell Baker, Chanute, and Clarence Wood, Salome, Ariz.; a sister, Lula Mow, Moses Lake, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A daughter, Kay Faith, a brother, Lewis Wood, and a sister, Edith Neff, died earlier. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Garnett. Burial will be in the Lone Elm Cemetery. Pastor Gary Benjamin will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Inc. in Garnett. Memorials to First Baptist Church may be left at the funeral home.

Alessandra Hardwick (Throckmorton)
Alessandra Lynn Hardwick (Throckmorton), 11 weeks, of Iola died Thursday, Oct. 7, at her home. She was born July 21 in Chanute to Anthony Lee Throckmorton and Cassandra Lynn Hardwick. She is survived by her parents of the home; her grandparents, Rick and Bessie Crowell, LaHarpe, and George and Carol Throckmorton, Altoona; her great-grandparents, Sandra Crowell, LaHarpe, Edna Hardwick, Springfield, Mo., Janie Daniels, El Dorado, and Charles and Virginia Williams, Toronto; four aunts, Shauna Gregory, of the home, Christina Martin, LaHarpe, Rachel Crowell, Frontenac and Angelique Throckmorton, El Dorado; and four uncles, Timothy Hardwick, Yates Center, Eric Crowell, Iola, Kevin Crowell, LaHarpe and Aaron Throckmorton, Altoona. Her grandfather, James Hardwick, died earlier. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Moran. Pastor Michael Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Memorials to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) may be left at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels.
