Elizabeth I. Rousseau
Elizabeth I. Rousseau, 94, died January 6, 1998, at Ninnescah Manor,
Clearwater.
She was born November 9, 1903, at Holden, Missouri, the daughter of
A.A. and Sarah Eves Rose. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Anthony Christian Church.
On October 17, 1923, she married Earl M. Rousseau at Wichita. He
died November 16, 1967.
Survivors include: four sons, James, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kenneth,
Wichita, Lyle, Lady Lake, Florida, and Gerald Rousseau, Anthony; a
daughter, Mona Hoffman, Sperry, Oklahoma; three brothers, Lester Rose,
Hutchinson, and Mike and Clarence Rose, both of Kiowa; two sisters,
Eunice Stark, Kingman, and Phyllis Jefferies, Wichita; 15 grandchildren;
29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 8, 1998, at Williams
Funeral HOme, Anthony, with John Schnelle presiding. Burial was in Forest
Park Cemetery, Anthony.

Irvin R. Rose
Irvin R. Rose, 78, died January 25, 1998, at Wichita.
He was born May 11, 1919, at Sawyer, the son of Edward Charles and
Minnie Lena Warren Rose. He worked at National Gypsum Co., Medicine
Lodge, for 31 years, retiring in 1971.
He belonged to First Baptist Church, Medicine Lodge.
On May 12, 1940, he married Helen Powers at Pratt. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Larry, Medicine Lodge; a daughter,
Rebecca Chabot, Moreno Valley, California; nine grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 28, 1998, at Elliott
Mortuary Chapel, Anthony, with Pastor Tom Marker presiding. Burial
was in Forest Park Cemetery, Anthony.

Martha Ellen Reed
Martha Ellen Reed, 97, died February 6, 1998, at Pratt Regional Medical
Center.
She was born November 9, 1900, at Lambert, Oklahoma, the daughter of
Richard and Ellen Berry Tidwell. A Medicine Lodge resident since 1984,
moving from Alva, Oklahoma, she was a homemaker.
On June 3, 1920, she married Dennis D. Reed at Alva. He died September
29, 1986.
Survivors include: four sons, Dewey E., Kiowa, Floyd D., Coldwater,
Richard A., Claremore, Oklahoma, and Sonny, Pierce, South Dakota; two
daughters, Wanda Melkus, Medicine Lodge, and Margie King, Caldwell, Idaho;
21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 9, 1998, at Larrison-Forsyth
Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge, with Pastor Jeff Ropp presiding. Burial was
in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
Helen L. Ricke
Helen L. Ricke, 71, died March 5, 1998, at Attica.
She was born November 15, 1926, at Attica, the daughter of Ovia David
and Katie R. Seal Ogden. She was a retired sheetmetal worker for Attica
Engineering and Cessna.
She belonged to St. Joan of Arc Parish, Harper.
On February 22, 1945, she married Irvin Ricke at Anthony. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Ronald Ricke, Wichita; mother, Attica;
a brother, Alvin Ogden, Attica; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9, 1998, St. Joan of Arc
Parish, Harper, with Father Robert Hartmann presiding. Burial was in
Attica Cemetery.

Glenn A. Stephens, Sr.
Glenn A. Stephens, Sr., 71, died January 10, 1998, at Pratt Regional
Medical Center.
He was born January 28, 1926, at Hazelton, the son of Jesse S. and
Nola D. Hutchinson Stephens. A Pratt resident since 1969, moving from
Medicine Lodge, he was a retired oilfield roughneck and driller.
He belonged to the Baptist Church and to the Veterans of Foreign Wars,
Pratt. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: wife, Linda Looney; three sons, Buddy, Rick and
Randy, all of Pratt; a daughter, Barbara Manning, Liberal; a brother,
Jimmie, Pratt; a sister, Edith Woodward, Columbus, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 14, 1998, at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt, with Chaplain John Havens presiding. Burial
was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.

Edward W. Stranathan
Edward W. Stranathan, 91, died January 30, 1998, at Columbia Wesley
Medicial Center, Wichita.
He was born February 2, 1906, in Barber County, the son of William
V. and Fannie E. Smith Stranathan. A lifelong Kiowa area resident, he
was a farmer and rural mail carrier.
He belonged to Congregational United Church of Christ and Masonic
Lodge No. 278, both at Kiowa.
On November 4, 1930, he married Carmelita Green at Medicine Lodge.
She died November 8, 1978.
Survivors include: a son, Bob, Shawnee; two daughters, Virginia
Richardson, Texas City, Texas, and Susan Schrock, Alva, Oklahoma;
two sisters, Helen Stranathan Youngers, Medicine Lodge, and Louise
Owens, Coats; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 2, 1998, at Congregational
Church of Christ, Kiowa, with the Rev. Vergie DAvis presiding. Burial
was in Riverview Cemetery, Kiowa.

Lulu E. Tabor Sleeper
Lulu E. Tabor Sleeper, 109, died February 21, 1998, at her Nashville
home.
She was born April 15, 1888, at Latour, Missouri, the daugher of James
W. and Betty E. O'Bannon Tabor. A rural Nashville resident for the past
75 years, moving from Two Buttes, Colorado, she was a homemaker.
She attended the Church of Christ in Isabel. She belonged to the Snowflake and Stitch and Chatter Quilting Clubs, all at Isabel, the Harmony
EHU, Medicine Lodge, and was a B-Square 4-H Leader.
On February 22, 1923, she married Victor E. Sleeper at Syracuse. He
died February 19, 1956.
Survivors include: four daughters, Betty L. Myers, McPherson, Helen M.
Hamm, Pratt, Mary J. Poland, Isabel, and Katheryn V. Elliott, Mulvane; 38
grandchildren; 120 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 24, 1998, at Larrison-Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge, with John Hamm presiding. Burial
was in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.

Paul Junior Shrum
Paul Junior Shrum, 73, died March 3, 1998, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born December 19, 1924, at Turon, the son of John Wesley and
Lilie Mae Barney Shrum. He was a retired farmer.
On July 23, 1970, he married Bernice Leatherman Fox at Pampa, Texas.
Survivors include: a daughter, Glenda Flax, Wright; a brother, Raymond,
Kingman; five sisters, Hettie Fisher, Medicine Lodge, Louise Dupee, Turon,
Sadie Dykes, Stafford, Lucille Millspaugh, Hutchinson, and June Bryan,
Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 7, 1998, at Turon Community
Church. Burial was in Turon Cemetery.

Lura V. Smith
Lura V. Smith, 83, died May 9, 1998, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She was born December 19, 1915, near Lake City, the daughter of
George N. and Nellie Garten Smith. She lived in Arizona most of her
life, moving to Wichita Falls, Texas when her health began to fail
several years ago.
She is survived by her companion Fonda Nichols of Wichita Falls,
sisters-in-law Daisy Smith of Haysville, and Myra Smith of Medicine
Lodge, and three nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her brother, R. Kenneth Smith and
David W. Smith and her sister E. Mable Smith.
No services were held and it is requested that no flowers or
memorials be given. She has been cremated and will be taken back
to her beloved Arizona.
Ardis I. White
Ardis I. White, 89, died January 13, 1998, at Susan B. Allen Memorial
Hospital, El Dorado.
She was born August 16, 1908, at Hutchinson, the daughter of Ernest
and Nora Daniels Ellis. She graduated from Isabel High School. A Butler
County resident since 1969, she was a retired office secretary for
Beech Aircraft, Wichita.
She belonged to the United Methodist Church, Isabel.
In 1929, she married Cecil C. White at Kingman. He died in March 1975.
Survivors include: a son, Frank, Auburn, Washington; three sisters,
Gertrude Hill, Wichita, Ethel Nossaman, Isabel, and Helen Nossaman, Pratt;
two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 16, 1998, at the United
Methodist Church, Isabel. Burial was in Isabel Cemetery.

Floyd A. Williams
Floyd A. Williams, 94, died January 27, 1998, at Wichita.
He was born September 23, 1903, at Anthony, the son of Andrew S. and
Alice McKown Williams. He was a retired principal and teacher and
business administrator for Boeing Aircraft Co., Wichita.
He was a member of the Christian Church, Sharon, and a past member
of the Masonic Lodge, Kiowa.
On January 13, 1928, he married Alice M. Slane at Newton. She died
April 29, 1996.
There are no survivors.
Graveside service was held Friday, January 30, 1998, at the Harper
Cemetery, with Pastor Clayton Portenier presiding.

Lowell D. Wade
Lowell D. Wade, 69, died May 13, 1998, at Kiowa District Hospital.
He was born December 9, 1928, at Kinsley, the son of Byron and Emma
Dixon Wade. A former resident of Anthony, Sawyer and Liberal, he was
a retired grocery-store owner, police officer and private pilot.
He belonged to Central Baptist Church, Anthony, and the Kansas Peace
Officers Association.
On December 9, 1948, he married Donna Sells at Hardtner. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Lee, Medicine Lodge, and Byron,
Altoona; a daughter, Debbie Stairrett, Larned; father, Edmond, Oklahoma;
three brothers, Arnold, Edmond, Russell, Wichita, and Jerry, Greensburg;
a sister, Sue McKendrick, Lindon, Utah; seven grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Fisher Funeral
Home Chapel, Kiowa, with the family presiding over services. Burial was
in Hardtner Cemetery.

David W. Worsdell Sr.
David W. Worsdell Sr., 90, died May 10, 1998, at Friendship Manor Nursing
Home, Kiowa.
He was born October 29, 1907, at Aurora, Illinois, the son of Ralph Clark
and Ruthella McReynolds Worsdell. A Kiowa resident since January 1997,
formerly of Anthony and Valley Center, and spending most of his life in St.
Louis, he was a minister.
He belonged to Dover Place Christian Church, St. Louis, Abigail Freedom
Lodge No. 636, Sir Knight-Ascalon Commandery No. 16, KT, Jeremiah Council
No. 43 Cryptic Masons an Oriental Chapter No. 78 Royal Arch Masons.
On January 19, 1937, he married Gertrude Fisher. She died in 1962. On
December 7, 1968, he married Christine M. Post. She died March 11, 1994.
Survivors include: two sons, David W. Worsdell Jr., Kiowa, and Clayton
Marshall Worsdell, Phoenix; a stepdaughter, Ella Mae Brunt, Kimberling City,
Missouri; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Church, Kiowa, with the Rev. Bill Dyar presiding. Burial was in St. Louis.

Charles H. Bain
Charles H. Bain, 82, died July 19, 1998, at Medicine Lodge Memorial
Hospital.
He was born January 8, 1916, at Coldwater, the son of George H. and
Hattie A. Shimer Bain. A Medicine Lodge resident for most of his life,
he operated the Brown Derby drive-in restaurant, Medicine Lodge, for
18 years.
He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Warts, and was a 32 degree
Mason, Delta Lodge No. 77, both at Medicine Lodge. He served in the U.S.
Army in Italy during World War II in the Polar Bear Unit.
On December 21, 1941, he married Betty Jean Preston at Perth. She
survives.
Other surivivors include: a daughter, Janice J. Hoagland, Lake City;
two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 23, 1998, at the First
Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, with the Rev. Tom Walters, presiding.

Bradley D. Clark
Bradley D. Clark, 23, died May 23, 1998, at his home.
He was born September 21, 1974, at Medicine Lodge, the son of Derrell
and Barbara Hale Clark. A life-time Attica resident, he was co-owner of
Husker Fencing, Attica.
He belonged to Faith Baptist Church, Attica, and the Attica Saddle Club.
Survivors include: parents, Attica; a companion, Tiauanna Broce, Attica;
a sister, Wendy Dusenbury, Harper; and grandparents, LeeRoy and Arlene
Clark, Zenda.

Stewart G. Carthrae, 75, died June 21, 1998, at Kiowa District Hospital,

He was born April 23, 1923, in Comanche County, the son of Ernest and
Anna Hucklebridge Carthrae. A Kiowa resident since 1977, moving from
Aetna, he was a retired farmer, rancher and carpenter.
He belonged to the United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars
and Lions Club, all at Kiowaand the American Legion, Hardtner.
On August 12, 1943, he married Marion Wells at Coldwater. She survives.
Other survivors include: four daughters, Glenda Sibley, Pratt, Terry
Stephens, Wichita, Rita Graves, Castle Rock, Colorado, and Kathy Winters,
Hardtner; a brother, Jack Carthrae, Louisville, Kentucky; two sisters,
Ernestine Perrin and Helen Rasmussen, both of Green Bay, Wisconsin; 13
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Flossie Lovena Rhetta May (Carpenter) Conner
Flossie Lovena Rhetta May (Carpenter) Conner, 88, died July 20, 1998,
at Washington Regional Medical Centery, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She was born May 2, 1910 in Andale to William Henry and Mary Stella
McDaniel Carpenter. She was a homemaker and was a member of the United
Methodist Church, Lake City.
On April 18, 1928, she married Joseph Wilson Conner in Alva, Oklahoma.
He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a son, Floyd Conner and wife, Deanne of New Philadelphia,
Ohio; two daughters, Rose Hembree and husband Monroe, Stilwell, Oklahoma,
and Maurine Fillmore and husband Clyde of Osage City; 24 grandchildren; 32
great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 24, 1998, at Highland Cemetery
in Medicine Lodge with Rev. James Godbey officiating.
Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell, Oklahoma.
Flossie Elizabeth Hittle
Flossie Elizabeth Hittle, 91, died May 26, 1998, at Cedar Crest Manor,
Medicine Lodge.
She was born October 23, 1906, at Medicine Lodge, the daughter of Fred
D. and Alta Mae Mitchell Hoyt. A lifetime resident of Medicine Lodge, she
formerly owned the Sweet Chop from 1929 to 1945. She later was a pharmacist's
clerk at Carper's Drug Store, both in Medicine Lodge.
On November 5, 1924, she married Guy P. Hittle at Medicine Lodge. He died
May 4, 1972.
Survivors include: a son, James D. Hittle, Towanda; and a daughter, Peggy
Dean MacDonald, Alva, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial service was held Friday, May 29, 1998, at First Christian Church,
Medicine Lodge, with the Rev. Tom Walters presiding. Private burial was
Wednesday, May 27, 1998, in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.

Cleone Kearns
Cleone Kearns, 91, died June 27, 1998, at her home in Kiowa.
She was born January 29, 1907, at Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of
Hugh and Rachael Bradley Gibson. A longtime Kiowa area resident, she was
an Avon salesman for 44 years.
On February 25, 1926, she married Louie Kearns at Mount Vernon, Missouri.
He died November 11, 1987.
Survivors include: a daughter, Laura Landis, Wichita.

Chapel, Kiowa, with the Rev. Bill Dyar presiding. Burial was in Riverview

Kathryn Marie Miller
Kathryn Marie Miller, 75, died June 27, 1998, at Integris Bass Hospital,
Enid, Oklahoma.
She was born January 20, 1923, at Burlington, Oklahoma, the daughter of
George Sr. and Esther R. Gleichman Miller. A lifelong Kiowa area resident,
she was a retired registered nurse.
She belonged to the Apostolic Christian Church, Kiowa.
Survivors include: a sister, Erma Gorwoda, Colorado Springs, Colorado; a
nephew; and three nieces.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at the Apostolic
Christiain Church, Kiowa, with Ronald Allenbach and Jeff Rahr presiding.
Burial was in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Burlington, Oklahoma.

Claude Wayne Romine
Claude Wayne Romine, 77, died July 23, 1998, at Medicine Lodge Memorial
Hospital.
He was born February 9, 1921, at Iuka, the son of George and Ada Gardner
Romine. An Isabel resident for 72 years, moving from Pratt, he was a retired
farmer and feed mill operator at Isabel Coop.
He belonged to Isabel United Methodist Church and the American Quarter
Horse Association. He served in the US Air Force during World War II.
On May 25, 1946, he married Ruth Banks at Isabel. She survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Conard, Attica, Don, Buddy and David,
all of Isabel; a daughter Glennis Jean Vanderboegh, St. Peters, Missouri;
two sisters Zelma Romine, Isabel, and Opal Everett, Blackwell, Oklahoma;
17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 25, 1998, at Isabel United
Methodist Church, with the Rev. Russell Fincham presiding. Burial was in
Isabel Cemetery.

Pauline F. Seidl Stacy, 71, died May 26, 1998, at the Andover Health
Care Center.
She was born June 13, 1926, at Ost, the daughter of George and Rose
Anna Ast Seidl. A Benton resident, formerly of Harper, she was a beautician.
She belonged to St. Vincent Catholic Church, Andover.

Edith L. Bell, 95, died July 31, 1998, at Mansfield Nursing Home,

She was born July 7, 1903, at Howard, the daughter of Howard and
Viola Rose Templer Rogers. A resident of Mansfield since February
1997, moving from Mesa, Arizona, and formerly a longtime resident of
the Kalvesta and Dodge City areas, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Kalvesta United Methodist Church.
On August 24, 1924, she married Luther T. Bell at Medicine Lodge.
He died November 7, 1982.
Survivors include: two daughters, Donna Byler, Hemet, California,
and Barbara Packer, Mansfield; four grandchildren; five great-grand-children; and a great-great-grandchild.

Mary J. Parks, 78, died August 5, 1998, at St. Anthony Hospital,

and Mary A. Nuessen Burenheide. A Kiowa resident since 1950, moving
from Sharon, she was a clerk and a care-giver.
She belonged to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and the Altar
Society, both at Kiowa.
On January 22, 1957, she married Alvin H. Parks. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Anita Patterson, Pampa, Texas;
two step-daughters, Kay Wods, Sherman, Texas, and Neva Hammock, Alvin,
Texas; three sisters, Agnes Norwood, Perryton, Texas, Leona Blurton,
Medicine Lodge, and Elizabeth Blurton, Sharon; two granddaughters;
seven step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 10, 1998, at St. Boniface
Catholic Church, Sharon, with Father Anthony Suellentrop presiding.
Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Sharon.

Roberta A. Jones, 62, died August 7, 1998, at Via Christi Medical Center,

She was born August 16, 1935, at Columbus, the daughter of Thomas and
Maxine Ireland Holman. A Kiowa resident since 1988, formerly of El Dorado,
she was a retired book-keeper.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern
Star, both of Kiowa.
Survivors include: a son, Sean JOnes, Augusta; a daughter, Heather Jones,
Kiowa; and two grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Wednesday, August 12, 1998, at Riverview
Cemetery, Kiowa.

Kelly Swayden
Kelly Swayden, 77, died August 16, 1998, at his ranch east of Medicine
Lodge.
He was born July 18, 1921, at Oilton, Oklahoma, the son of Rasheed and
Juria Mady Swayden. A Medicine Lodge resident since May of 1951, coming
from Longdale, Oklahoma, he was a rancher. He served with the U.S. Army
during WWII.
He belonged to the American Legion and the VFW, both in Medicine Lodge.
Survivors include: a son, Richard L. Swayden and his wife, Betty Jo,
Medicine Lodge; a daughter, Janetta Freeman and her husband, Eddie L.,
Pratt; three brothers, LeRoy Swayden, Medicine Lodge, Bobby G. Swayden,
Amarillo, Texas, and George Jr. Swayden, Isabel; three sisters, Florene
Wilkins, Tommie Lou Swayden, and Margaret Johnston, all of Amarillo, Texas;
and two granddaughters, Kelli Jo and Kasey Swayden, Medicine Lodge.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 18, 1998, at United Methodist
Church, Medicine Lodge, with Rev. Jim Godbey presiding. Burial was in
Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
Memorials may be sent to United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge Memorial
Hospital or Pratt Regional Medical Center, all in care of Larrison-Forsyth
Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
Irene Hazel Walker
Irene Hazel (Vanderplas) Walker was born August 23, 1906, to Charles and
Mary (Shoemaker) Vanderplas in Marion County, Kansas. She died July 24, 1998,
at her daughter's home in Mankato at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 1 day.
Irene graduated from elementary school and high school in Barber County, and
from Salt City Business College, Hutchinson. Her career in business included
positions in Hutchinson, Medicine Lodge, Best Brothers Company; Manhattan,
Kansas State; and Abilene, DS&O Rural Electric.
She married Edwin S. Walker, June 25, 1938 in Manhattan. He preceded her in
death January 1974. To this union two daughters, Maxine and Lesley were born.
After her marriage, due to her husbands engineering career, they resided in
Manhattan, Junction City, and Abilene.
During World War II, they moved to Moline, Illinois, because of defense
work. They returned to Kansas after the war, and resided in Westmorland, Holton,
and Mankato, where she has lived the past 34 years.
Irene has always participated in Church activities. She Primary Sunday School
for many years. She held various offices in the Methodist Women's Organization
and was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church in Mankato. She has
always been involved in various social and community organizations wherever she
resided.
Irene was an accomplished seamstress and homemaker. She was a devoted wife,
mother, and grandmother.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, parents; infant sister, sisters,
Alma Schmidl, and Fern Pierce; and brother, Charles Vanderplas.
Survivors include daughters: Maxine and husband Bob Switzer of Mankato, Kansas,
Lesley and husband, Jim Hunter of Annadale, Virginia; brother Ray and wife Alice
Vanderplas of Harper, Kansas; grandchildren Lori and husband, Jeff Bradford of
Woodstock, Georgia; Rodney and wife Charlene Adestone of Myrtle Beach South
Carolina, Joe, Jim and Jeff Hunter of Annadale, Virginia; great-grandchildren,
Katelin and Bethany Bradford, Lee and Hayley Adelstone.
Funeral services for Irene H. (Vanderplas) Walker, were held at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, July 29, 1998, at the Melby Morthuary Chapel, Mankato, Kansas, with
Pastors Frank DeFisher and Vernon Snider officiating. Music was provided by Ruth
Clegg, organist, Thaddeus Hinkle, soloist, and a duet by Katelin and Bethany
Bradford. Mrs. Lori Bradford gave the eulogy. Casket bearers were: Jack Smith,
Stanley Murphy, Eldred Wurm, Dean Leonard, Don Hamilton, and Don Snyder. Interment
was in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kansas. The family suggests memorials
be made to VFW Post No. 7830 Home Health Care Equipment. Melby Mortuary, Mankato,
Kansas, was in charge of arrangements.
Layle Woodward
Layle Woodward, 63, died July 27, 1998 at his home in Zenda.
He was born May 26, 1936, at Sharon, Kansas the son of John and Rachel
Steffen Woodward. A resident of the Zenda community most of his life, he
was a retired farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the Zenda United Methodist Church.
On March 1, 1954, he married Georgia Doolin at Pratt, Kansas. Other
survivors include two sons, Mike, and his wife Dianna, Spivey; Gary,
and his wife Pam, Zenda; daughter and husband Kathy and Cecil Price,
Zenda; and seven grandchildren all of Sharon; Marc Pankratz, Dustin
Price, Greg Woodard, Scott Woodard, Gayle Price, Craig Woodard, and
Caleb Woodard.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Zenda United
Methodist Church with Pastor Mike McGovney presiding. Friends may call
from noon to 8:00 P.m. Tuesday at the Livingston Funeral Home. Burial
will be in Hoosier Cemetery, near Kingman.
