David Dibben
David Lee Dibben, 60, Olathe, died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1940, in Junction City, Kan., living in Olathe the past 15 years. He graduated from Junction City High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He retired from KCPL after 33 years of service and from Capitol Electric after one year. He was a member of Local IBEW Union No. 1464.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Charles Dibben, and his daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth Dibben.
He leaves his wife, Jeanette N. Dibben of the home; five sons, Jacob Charles Dibben, Lawrence, Clint Adam Dibben, Gardner; Eric Nathan Dibben and Marcus Joseph Dibben, both of the home, and David Thomas Dibben, Mound City, Kan.; two daughters, Michelle Lea Willis, Prairie Village, and Chereanna Kay Dibben, Mound City, Kan.; his mother, Bernice Dibben, Junction City; two brothers, Donald Dibben and N. Craig Dibben, both of Junction City; a sister, Joyce Carpenter, Beatrice, Neb.; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 143rd and Black Bob Road in Olathe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth Dichiser
Kenneth S. Dichiser, 65, Chandler, Ariz., formerly of Olathe, died March 23, 2000, in Chandler.
He was born Dec. 26, 1934, in Chicago. He married Barbara Lillian on Oct. 24, 1959.
He served in the U.S. Marines and worked for LTV Steel for 33 years. He was transferred from Chicago to Bettendorf, Iowa, and then to Olathe. He retired from LTV Steel and moved to Chandler in 1996. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose since 1969, and a member of the American Legion since 1991.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Barbara, of the home; three sons, James Dichiser, Colona, Ill., and William Dichiser and Michael Dichiser, both of Olathe; two daughters, Kathleen Malone, Gurnee, Ill., and Karen Dichiser, Chicago; two sisters, Mary Lou Taggert, San Mateo, Calif., and Liz Tucker, Woodridge, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation and open house will be 7 p.m. Friday, April 14, at the family home. Cremation.

Amanda Dickens
Amanda Maurine Dickens, 12, Olathe, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at Children's Mercy Hospital.
She was born Nov. 30, 1987, in Joliet, Ill., and lived in Olathe for the last nine years. She attended Olathe schools and was a member of the Girl Scouts.
Surviving are her parents Tim and Barb Dickens and a sister Teresa, all of the home; maternal grandparents, John and Eva Mulcahy, Romeoville, Ill.; maternal great-grandmother, Helen Evans, Benton, Ill.; and paternal grandfather, Claude Dickens, New Braunfels, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at the First Christian Church of Olathe.
Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. until service time at the church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Olathe Memorial Cemetery.

Pauline Dickey
Pauline Mitchell Dickey, 92, Spring Hill, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at her son's home in Spring Hill.
She was born Nov. 8, 1907, in Meriden, Kan., to Daniel W. and Mary "Fannie" Francis Becker. After graduating from Meriden schools, she attended secretarial school in Tulsa, Okla., where she met Holly Mitchell, who she married June 26, 1926, in Los Angeles, Calif., where they lived until they moved to Centerville, Kan. After his death in 1951, she married an ordained Methodist minister, Lee A. Dickey, Sept. 24, 1952, in Centerville. She and her second husband lived throughout Kansas before finally settling in Spring Hill. She was an active member of the Spring Hill United Methodist Church, and a state officer in the United Methodist Women's Group.
She also was preceded in death by her second husband, Lee Dickey, July 7, 1982; three sons, Ronald J. Mitchell, John Holly Mitchell Jr. and Dale A. Mitchell; and three brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Reed Mitchell, Topeka, Pete Mitchell, Tampa, Fla., and Steve Mitchell, Spring Hill; two daughters, Carol Zimmerman, Olathe, and Dee Anna McJillton, Castro Valley, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; and more than 36 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wilson and Son Funeral Home, Paola. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Paola Cemetery.

Jesse Divine
Jesse Wilbur Divine, 67, Olathe, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at the Olathe Medical Center.
He was born M arch 2, 1933, in Lamar, Mo., the son of Kenneth and Lula (Myers) Divine. He was a 1950 graduate of Neosho High School. He married the former Jeanne Winfree on April 27, 1957.
He was a member of Berean Church in Olathe, American Legion, Olathe V.F.W. and Fleet Reserve. He served in Korea and served two tours with MCB-3 in Vietnam, retiring in 1972 with 20 years of service. He worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., for more than 20 years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Divine, of the home; mother, Lula Divine, Olathe; son, Greg Divine, and wife, Kelly, Osawatomie; three brothers, Kenny Divine, and wife Jean, Riverside, Calif., Leo Divine, and wife, Pat, Wichita, and Jere Divine, and wife Gloria, Lenexa; and three grandchildren.

Jacob Dale Dix, infant son of Glen and Angie Dix of Olathe, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Mary E. Doan, 65, Spring Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at home.
She was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Merriam. the daughter of William and Johanna (Arnett) Sleighter.
She was a resident of Gardner for nine years before recently moving Spring Hill. She was a seamstress for Olathe Boot Factory for six years, and for Bletx Corporation in Barnhart, Mo., for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Doan, in 1983; and a brother, William Sleighter.
Survivors include a son, Pete Speed, Meridian, Miss.; three daughters, Cheryl Clark, Grenada, Miss., Patricia Robertson, DeKalb, Miss., and Joyce Ramsey, Olathe; a sister, Nancy Schults, Dover, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Maurice J. Dobbeleare, 85, of Merriam died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Villa St. Francis, Olathe.

Howard Dodson
Howard "Keith" Dodson, 70, of Clearview City died Friday, June 22, 2001, at the Olathe Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Oskaloosa, the son of Howard R. Dodson and Jennie (Beals) Dodson. He was a lifelong area resident of Kansas City, Kan. and Olathe. He moved to Clearview City a year ago.
He was a self-employed handyman in the Olathe and Kansas City areas. He was a truck driver for Schlitz Malt Liquor and also had worked for the Austin Purina Chicken Plant.
He was a graduate of Rosedale High School in the Argentine district of Kansas City, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.
He was divorced from Norma E. Stump of Freeman, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Dodson; and a sister, Linda Draheim.
Survivors include a son, Gary Dodson, Olathe; two daughters, Pamela Johnston and Cindy O'Grady, both of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Ron Dodson, Pleasanton, Kan.; a sister, Verna Vielbig, Olathe; and eight grandchildren.

Lawrence Doljac Sr.
Lawrence "Larry" David Doljac Sr., 67, Olathe, died on Friday, July 14, 2000, at his home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1932, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of John and Mary Doljac. He graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and was a member of the school's varsity football team. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves for 13 years, retiring as a captain. He retired from Lehigh Portland Cement Company in 1999 after working there for 31 years.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Irene Ferrell Doljac, of the home; two sons, L. David Doljac Jr., Stilwell, and Mark Ferrell Doljac, Lawrence; two brothers, Joseph Doljac, Uniontown, Pa. ,and John Doljac, Virginia; three sisters, Caroline and Mary Doljac, both of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Kaye Doljac, Uniontown.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. today at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe. Burial will be at the Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa.

Dorothy Donahue
Dorothy B. (Miller) Donahue, 79, Olathe, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000 at the Olathe Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Newton, Iowa. She had lived most of her life in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a secretary to the president of Dahl's Grocers in Des Moines for 25 years, retiring in 1989 and moving to Johnson County, Kan.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Claire D. Miller in 1970, and Joseph Donahue in 1975; and three sisters, Margaret Knowles, Helen Kyte and Ruth Elliott.
Survivors include a son, Craig Miller, Savannah, Ga.; a daughter, Linda Shirk, Olathe; a brother, Howard Brokaw, Keno, Ore.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Gloria Donley
Gloria Jean Donley, 77, Tipton, Mo., died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City, Mo.
She was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Clarksburg, Mo., the daughter of Jesse C. Martin and Laura Groves. She married Leland Donley, May 31, 1942, in Centertown, Mo. She taught school for 31 years; 21 years were in the Tipton School system. She retired in 1987.
She taught Sunday school for many years. She worked in the AWANA program with the local youth at Tipton Community Baptist Church for 15 years.
She was a member of the Women's Club, the Tipton Community Baptist Church and the Retired Teachers' Association.
Survivors include her husband, Leland Donley, of the home; two sons, Van E. Donley, Boonville, Mo.; and Arthur K. Donley, Overland Park; two daughters, Laura G. Willis, Wichita; Kaye E. Schuster, Tipton, Mo.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is to be 1:30 p.m. June 17, at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton, Mo. The funeral is to be be 2 p.m. Sunday at Tipton Community Baptist Church.

Dennis Donnelly
Dennis Dugan Donnelly, 78, of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Friday, May 4, 2001, at United Medical Center-West.
He was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Julesburg, Colo. He previously lived in Olathe and Powell, Wyo.
Mr. Donnelly served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean Conflict and retired after 12 years of service. He was a farmer for 10 years and chief health sanitarian in Johnson County for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Donnelly; his parents, John and Margaret Donnelly; four brothers; and three sisters.
Mr. Donnelly is survived by his wife, Vanita Donnelly, Cheyenne; a son, John Donnelly, Olathe; a daughter, Denise Donham, Cody, Wyo.; two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Rochlitz, Julesburg, Colo., and Virginia Gabriel, Denver; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with Rev. Harold Powell officiating. Cremation. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
John Downing
GARDNER - John Michael (Stick) Downing, 58, died Friday, March 23, 2001 at his home in Gardner.
He was born in Merriam, Kan. Aug. 8, 1942. He moved to Gardner in the late 1970s. He also lived in Bonner Springs. He worked as a flight mechanic and engineer on CH-47 Chinook helicopters for the Civil Service at New Century AirCenter, Gardner. He retired in 1993. As a young man, he worked for his father's automotive battery service in Kansas City, Kan.
He graduated from Basehor High School. He enlisted in the National Guard Army Reserve in 1963 and retired as First Sergeant in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army May 1968 through August 1969 during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Ft. Carson, Colo. He was a member of the Gardner Masonic Lodge.
He married Melissa (Diane) Inscore Downing Feb. 14, 1980 in Miami, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa (Diane) Inscore Downing, of the home; mother, Mary Louise Kelly-Downing, Lansing, Kan.; two sons, Steve Staley, Baldwin City, Kan. and Mike Staley, Olathe; two sisters, Joanne Aaron, Leavenworth, Kan. and Loretta Kirchhofer, Wakarusa, Kan; a brother, Bernard Downing, Wichita, Kan. and two grandchildren.

Dennis Duncan
Dennis R. Duncan, 56, Overland Park, died at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.,Wednesday, June 13, 2001, after battling melanoma.
He was born Feb. 8, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kan., and has lived in Johnson County most of his life. He was a respected and talented builder/developer throughout Johnson County for 30 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He was an avid golfer and member of Wolf Creek Golf Club in Spring Hill.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jordan Kaylee Duncan in 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Duncan; his children, Jesse L. and Ellie M. Duncan, both of the home, and Jaclyn Duncan and her husband Jim Hunsperger, Gardner; a brother, Dean Duncan, Mound City, Kan.; three sisters, Shirley Chambers and Doris Belcher, both of LaCygne, Kan., and Donna Parker, Sarasota, Fla.; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Lila Duncan
Lila Marie Duncan, 62, Paola, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at the Olathe Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Chiles, Kan., the daughter of John Marion and Beulah Myrtle (Tull) Frazee.
She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Survivors include a son, Charlie Duncan, Paola; five daughters, Sharon Myers, McPherson, Donna Folsom, Overland Park, Bonnie Gilpatrick, Paola, Connie Duncan, Grain Valley, Mo., and Linda Hollingshead, Olathe; two brothers, John W. Frazee, Nevada, Mo., and Eual Frazee, Shawnee; a sister, Doris Jackson, Bates City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and five great-granchildren.
The graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth.

Robert Duncan
Robert E. "Bob" Duncan, 83, of Overbrook, Kan., died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Brookside Manor Nursing Home in Overbrook.
He was born June 1, 1917, at Vassar, Kan., the son of Everett and Minnie (Sipes) Duncan. He grew up in the Vassar area and attended Lyndon schools, graduating from Lyndon High School in 1934.
He was married Lorraine Marie Rosetta on May 24, 1940, at Osage City. They shared more than 60 years of married life together.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 35th Division for five years until his discharge in June of 1945. He served his country in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe, the Ardennes and the Battle of the Bulge.
He moved from Osage City to Overbrook in 1949. He and his wife operated a restaurant and tavern in Overbrook for eight years. He was employed by the city of Overbrook in various capacities for nine years, including several years as city marshal. He retired after 27 years of service with U.S.D. No. 434 Overbrook/Scranton where he was maintenance superintendent. In addition to serving in maintenance, he also was a bus driver and scorekeeper for various school athletics. He also served as a coach and referee for youth baseball and softball in Overbrook for many years. He was named grand marshal of the Overbrook/Osage County Free Fair Parade in Overbrook in 1998.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Scranton; the Knights of Columbus in Osage City; V.F.W. Post No. 2709 at Scranton; and Anderson-Raible Post No. 239 of the American Legion in Overbrook where he had served as post commander for several years.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, of the home; three sons, Robert Duncan and his wife, Mary Jane of Olathe; Donald Duncan and his wife, Kay of Americus, Kan.; and James Duncan and his wife, Roxanne of Overbrook; and nine grandchildren.
He will lie in state after 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Greenwood-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Overbrook where the rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. prior to the rosary. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Scranton. Interment will be at the Overbrook Cemetery.

Shirley Ann Duncan, 72, died Jan. 24, 2001, at Villa St. Francis Nursing Home, 16600 W. 126th St.
She was born Jan. 8, 1928, in Longmont, Colo. She graduated high school in Beloit and was a life-long resident of the Kansas City area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Frances and Theda Beatrice Lowell Tice; and one sister, Connie May Cather.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Duncan, of the home; one son, John Paul Duncan, of Lawrence; one daughter, Connie Jo Lutes, of Olathe; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Kayla Christanna Dunn, 2, Olathe, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Children's Mercy Hospital.
She was born Aug. 25, 1998, in Olathe, the daughter of John James and Courtney Lynn (Potter) Dunn.
She and her family have been lifelong residents of Olathe and members of the Vista Baptist Church, Olathe.
Survivors include her parents, of the home; her grandparents, Jim and Carolyn Dunn, Olathe, Kelvin and Tammy Segear, Grandview, Mo., and Garry Davis, Independence, Mo.; her great-grandparents, Carl and Glennie Davis, Independence, Mo., and Udell and Hertha McElvoy, Peculiar, Mo.; a great-great-grandmother, Edna Burke, Independence, Mo.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wilma "Willie" Irene Dunn, 79, Olathe, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Cabool, Mo., the daughter of Alfred and Ada (Ray) Hanks. She worked for Delmar Gardens of Lenexa as a nurse for many years.
Survivors include a son, Ted R. Larkin, Lenexa; four daughters, Kimberly A. Robert Duroche
Robert E. Duroche, 65, Olathe, died Sunday, July 29, 2000, at Olathe Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan. He graduated from Rosedale High School in 1952. He spent several years in the Army Reserve. He retired from Southwest Grease (which later became Exxon Mobil) after 48 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Duroche.
Survivors includes his wife of 23 years, Sue, of the home; his mother, Mary "Honey" Duroche, four daughters, Elizabeth Duroche and Susan Duroche, both of Olathe, Bridget Duroche, Auburn, Ala., and Brenda Kritenbrink, Indianapolis, Ind., ; three sons, Brian Duroche, Quenemo, Kan., Mark Phillips, Papillion, Neb., and Greg Phillips, Fulerton, Neb; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Zeandale, Kan.

Donald Dydell Jr.
Donald Dydell Jr., 46, died Jan. 6, 2001, in Las Vegas.
He was born Dec. 19, 1954, in Olathe, the son of Barbara and Donald Dydell Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Cartwright, Olathe; three sisters, Cheryl Beaman, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Melva Earl, Kansas City, Kan.; and Sylvia Stanford, Olathe; stepbrother, James Thompkins, and two half-sisters, Rita Thompkins and Tracey Venerable, all of Olathe.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m. today at St. Luke Church of God in Christ, 401 W. Spruce, Olathe.
Ethel Dziadura
Ethel Mary England Dziadura, 62, Spring Hill, died Feb. 12, 2001, at her home. She was born March 5, 1938, in Paola where she grew up. She lived in Spring Hill before moving to the rural community.
She worked as a technician for Osborn Laboratories in Olathe for four years. She also worked at Puritan Bennett in Lenexa for 19 years as lead assembly line person. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Paola and of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club. She was a graduate of Paola High School. She married Ernest Dziadura in June 1956 in Gardner.
She is preceded in death by her parents Albert Preston England and Amelia Anna Elizabeth Dageford England; and two brothers, Virgil and Roger England.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; two daughters, Patricia and her husband Seamus Monahan, Spring Hill; and Debra Valenti and husband Scott, Spring Hill; two sons, Robert Dziadura, Spring Hill; and David and wife Patricia Dziadura, Spring Hill; a brother, Lester England, Paola; a sister, Alberta Johnson, Osawatomie; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Feb.15 at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. before the service. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Antioch Cemetery, Spring Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or the K-State Cancer Research Fund.
