Margaret Ledington
Margaret M. Ledington, 83, Olathe, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at her home. She was born April 4, 1917, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Jacob and Maria A. (Roman) Pjatnica. She had lived in Olathe for more than 20 years and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Olathe. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Louis Ledington, in 1985; two brothers, John and Andy Picknick; and two sisters, Mary Farris and Dorothy Brungardt. Survivors include two sons, Daniel McGhee, Stockbridge, Ga., and James Ledington, Belton, Mo.; four daughters, Patricia Horning, Naples, Fla., Cathy Wooten, Loveland, Colo., Connie Fagan, Kansas City, Kan., and Jamie Ellis, Shawnee; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home, Olathe. The mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 27, at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan. Joseph Lee
Joseph Maurice Lee, 86, Paola, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Olathe Medical Center. He was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Louisburg, Kan. He grew up in Louisburg and attended rural Louisburg schools. He married Darlene V. Pope on April 7, 1940, in Somerset. They made their home in the Louisburg and Somerset area; in 1960, they moved to Paola. He was a farmer for many years. He worked for the Fluor Corp., which became Taylor Forge, for 33 years, retiring in 1979. From 1979 to 1997, he worked for Wal-Mart in the Garden Department and as a greeter. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Paola. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Lee, of the home; two sons, David Lee, Louisburg, and Cliff Lee, Olathe; two daughters, Shirley Knappenberger, Olathe, and Cindy Squire, Spring Hill; two brothers, Dr. Don Lee Jr., Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Clifford Lee, Paola; two sisters, Delyla Brown, Kansas City, Kan., and Dorrene Menefee Bristow, Ottawa; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at the First Lutheran Church, Paola. Burial will be at the Louisburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church, Paola. Sharon Lee Lehman, 57, Olathe, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at her home. She lived most of her life in the Olathe area; she later lived in Arizona but returned 2 1/2 years ago. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Stanley. She married Wayne L. Lehman in 1979. Survivors include her husband, Wayne, of the home; her mother, Lorene Alley, Tucson, Ariz.; two stepsons, Victor Lehman, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Alvin Lehman, Fort Wayne, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Lavina and Monique Lehman both of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Raymond and Lyall Alley, both of Tucson; a sister, Shirley Dell, Olathe; and five stepgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home of Olathe; the funeral will immediately follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 105th and Holmes Road, Kansas City, Mo. Marie Lenahan
Marie DeBonis Lenahan, 82, Gardner, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, in her home. She was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Kansas City, Kan., and moved to Gardner in 1962 after living in Bonner Springs. She graduated from Bonner Springs High School. She married Robert Lenahan on June 1, 1946. She was employed as a food service worker for the Gardner- Edgerton-Antioch School District for 23 years. She retired in 1993. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lenahan, in 1978 and her parents, James Debonis and Flora Green Survivors include one son, Phillip Lenahan and wife Judy, Gardner; a daughter. Roberta Lenahan. of the home; a brother, William DeBonis, Shell Knob, Mo.; a sister Alice Petty, Palinfield, Ind.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gardner. Burial will be at St. Columbia Catholic Cemetery, Gardner. Rowena Leonard
Rowena M. Leonard, 90, of Olathe, died April 21, 2001, at the Olathe Good Samaritan Center after a long illness. She was born April 6, 1911, in Elmdale, Kan., the daughter of Authur and Frances Honeyfield. She married Vow C. Leonard on Dec. 23, 1933. She was a devout member of the Church of God of the Prophecy, Olathe. She is preceded in death by her husband and a brother. Survivors include four children, Kathryn Endecott, Olathe, Edgar Leonard, Linn Creek, Mo., James Leonard, Kingston, Tenn. and Calvin Leonard, Iowa Park, Texas; three sisters and two brothers, Mahala Rabe, Lawrence, Frances Lewis, Sun City West, Ariz., Lucy McGinnis, Bella Vista, Ark., and J.B. Irene Brown Victor TOPEKA - Irene Brown Victor, 91, of Topeka, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at McCrite Plaza. She was born April 12, 1910, in Olathe, the daughter of William and Fannie Clinton Brown. She graduated from Kansas City Business College. She was married to Frank M. Victor in Olathe on Dec. 19, 1936. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as chairperson of the Board of Deaconesses, White Cross, and American Baptist Women there. She was preceded in death by her husband, and two brothers, Roy and Ritchie Brown. Survivors include two sons, Robert W. Victor, Topeka, and Dr. Frank R. Victor of Overland Park; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Memorial services are at 1 p.m. today at the church. Family graveside services are private. Leona A. Leskoff, 77, of Olathe, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, in Shawnee. She was born April 1, 1924, in Detroit. She was in the dry cleaning industry for many years. She married William E. Leskoff. He preceded her in death in 1979. Survivors include two sons, William L. Leskoff, Blue Springs, Mo., and Bruce E. Leskoff, Olathe; three daughters, Sandi Belt, Shawnee, Sheryle Pickett, Overland Park, and Soozi Tyler, Los Angeles; and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Interment will be in the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Agnes Lewis
Agnes Mae Lewis, 94, rural DeSoto, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at the Eudora Nursing Home, Eudora, where she lived for the past five years. A private memorial service was held on Friday, May 19, 2000. She was born Feb. 18, 1906, in Potter, Kan., the daughter of Orlando Barker and Mary Katherine Barker. She moved to Olathe 11 years ago. She lived in Lebo for 40 years prior to moving to rural DeSoto. She was a homemaker and a member of the DeSoto Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lewis, who died in 1983; four brothers, Glenn, Ralph, Harry and Howard Barker; and a sister, Edna Smith. Surviving is a great niece, Shelly Canaan. The family requests memorial contributions to the DeSoto Baptist Church Stained Glass Window Fund.

Florence Lewis
Florence M. (Braun) Lewis, 83, Gardner, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Good Samaritan Center in Olathe after a brief illness. She was born on Dec. 1, 1917, in Edgerton, the daughter of William F. and Vincentia McCarthy Braun. She graduated from Edgerton High School in 1935, and received a teaching certificate from St. Mary's College in Leavenworth. She taught at Larrick and Hesper country schools prior to her marriage. She married Everett M. Lewis, son of Fred N. and Mary Barker Lewis, on July 10, 1940, in Edgerton, and lived in Harveyville, Kan., and Roeland Park, before moving to Gardner in 1947 where her husband owned the Gardner drug store. She was an accomplished china painter, quilter, and was a member of the Palette Pals, and the Crazy Eights ladies clubs. She was also an musician, and was a church organist for more than 60 years in Edgerton and Gardner. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Everett M. Lewis; a sister, Mary Louise Hamby; grandson Jon J. Gergen II; and granddaughter Abigail Christine Lewis. She is survived by her children, Judith A. and Richard Mori of Omaha, Neb., Eileen M. and Jon Gergen of Plano, Texas, John G. and Dana Lewis of Lenexa, and Mark D. and Michelle Lewis of Olathe; a brother, Raymond Braun of Edgerton; a sister, Lois Roberts of Bonner Springs; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Sacred Heart Church in Gardner, with burial at St. Columbine in Edgerton. V.H. Lewis
V.H. Lewis, 88, Olathe, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Olathe Medical Center. He was born Oct. 16, 1912, in Maxwell, Neb., the son of Harry D. and Clara G. (Longpre) Lewis. He had lived in Olathe for 25 years, and was a member of the College Church of the Nazarene, Olathe. He graduated from Bethany Penial College in 1934, now called the Southern Nazarene University. He was an evangelist, pastor, and district superintendent at the College Church of the Nazarene. He also was the general superintendent at the church for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He married the former Esther Lambert in 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul W. Lewis; and one sister, Vesta Lewis. Survivors include his wife, Esther Lewis, of the home; one son, Larry H. Lewis, Greeley, Colo.; one daughter, Lucille E. Weathers, Olathe; two brothers, C. Donald Lewis, Oklahoma City, Okla., and H. Richard Lewis, Greeley, Colo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the College Church of the Nazarene, Olathe. A private family burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Ministerial Scholarships at MidAmerica Nazarene University, 2030 E. LaVerne Lieberman
LaVerne Lieberman, 76, Paola, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at her home. She was born July 3, 1924, to Boyd Edward and Beryle Bernese Forney Sims, in Satfford, Kan. She lived in Wichita before moving to Paola in the late 50s. She was a seamstress at the Smith Garment Factory for many years and later worked for King Radio in Paola as a production line assembler. She retired in the early 1980s. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Paola Eagles. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Jean Smith; and a son, Carl Cathey. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Mayo, Olathe; three sons, Boyd, Mike and Dale Lieberman, all of Paola; two sisters, LaVelle McLaury, Joplin, Mo., and Maggie Vanhorn, Michigan; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Wilson and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at Paola Cemetery. Abby M. Linder, 20, Paola, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at the Olathe Medical Center. She was a 1999 graduate of Paola High School and received a Kansas Scholastic, Golden Key Art Award in 1994. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Roger Huggins, and grandparents, Joe and Irene Linder. Walter Lindgren
Walter W. "Bill" Lindgren, 73, Olathe, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at the Olathe Medical Center. He was born May 27, 1927, in Sioux City, Iowa. He had lived in Olathe for the past 32 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He received a bachelor's degree from Morningside College. He was a recreational-vehicle sales manager for Van Chevrolet, retiring in 1987 after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Abdallah Shrine Temple in Overland Park and the Earl Collier Post No. 153 of the American Legion in Olathe. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Beals, Florida, and Beth Lindgren, Rogers, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Linda Holland, Olathe; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a companion, Bessie Reynolds, Olathe. Clinton Lindstrom
Clinton L. Lindstrom, 52, of Olathe, died Monday, March, 12, 2001, at the Olathe Medical Center. Clinton was born Nov. 20, 1948, in McPherson, Kan., living in Olathe the past 16 years. He was a 1966 graduate of Melvern High School in Melvern, Kan. He went on to enlist in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict. After his tour of duty he went to work for the Topeka Police Department which would last for 5 years before going to UPS (United Parcel Service) where he worked for a total of 25 years, the last 17 in management. He married Pamela Watkins in 1972, in Topeka. He received his B.A. from Baker University in 1997. He was a member of Harvest Ridge Covenant Church in Shawnee, Kan. He made prison class through the Gideon Bible Organization. He enjoyed cycling in many MS runs throughout Kansas and surrounding areas. Through his death someone will receive a gift from Clinton in the form of an organ as he was an organ donor. He leaves his wife, Pamela Lindstrom of the home; two sons, David and wife, Cari Lindstrom of Edwardsville, Kan., and Jason Lindstrom, Olathe; and a sister, Michelle Young, Carbendale, Kan. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 16, 2001, at 3 p.m. at the Community Covenant Church, 7220 Quivira Rd. in Shawnee. BALDWIN CITY, KS - Juanita Fern Linn, 73, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Olathe Medical Center. She was born Dec. 24, 1946 in Heber Springs, Ark. She lived in Heber Springs; Flint, Mich.; Edgerton, Kan.; and in Baldwin City from 1974 until her death. She was a graduate of Heber Springs High School. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Dortha Mae Treas. Survivors include her son, Sammie Church, of California; a niece, Karen Franq and her husband David, of Gardner; a niece, LaDonna Callahan and her husband Jack, also of Gardner; and a nephew, Gary Treas, also of Gardner. Lillie V. Little, 78, Olathe, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at Great Plains Care Center. She was born Dec. 21, 1921, in Pansy, Mo., and had been an Olathe resident since 1953. She was a former real estate and business owner. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 2993 in Olathe for more than 25 years. She married Jesse B. Little Jr. in 1950; he preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors include three sons, Gene Farmer, Larry Farmer and Benny Little, all of Olathe; a daughter, Jo Anne Kirkwood, Shawnee; a brother, Bill Bollan, Olathe; three sisters, Darlene Wicker, Lebanon, Mo., Leneve Ghezzi, Delores, Colo., and Bonnie Knox, Orville, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the W.L. Frye and Son Mortuary, Olathe. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the mortuary. Jay Bradford Littlehales
Jay Bradford Littlehales, 41, Olathe, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at his home. He was born July 19, 1958, in Glendale, W. Va., and had lived in Olathe for the past nine years. He was a graduate of New York State University and of Kansas City, Kan., Community College. He was a linguist while serving in the U.S. Air Force and had graduated from the Presidio. While stationed in South Korea, he had taught English as a Second Language; while in the Philippine Islands with his family, he had assisted refugees during the fall of Saigon, South Vietnam. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in the Philippines, and of the Boy Scouts of America. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Susane Littlehales, in 1983. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Pat and Bob Reinke, of the home; a sister, Elena "Suzzie" Muro, Shawnee; a stepgrandmother, Virginia R. Phillipsen, Aurora, Colo.; and two nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Olathe. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. John Londene
John "Jack" Edward Londene, 67, Topeka, died Jan. 4, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Enterprise, Kan., the son of Oscar Enoch Londene and Mildred Frances Dalton. He was a graduate of Enterprise High School. He received a bachelor's degree in education from Emporia State Teachers College, a master's degree in education from Baker University, and a specialist's degree in administration from Emporia State. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He married Ardis Lucille Pearson on June 2, 1957, in Tribune, Kan. He belonged to the Methodist Church in Enterprise. He was an elementary teacher and administrator in the Louisburg School District, and was a principal at Bucyrus Elementary School. He retired from teaching in 1995 from Holton High School. Survivors include his wife, Ardis, of the home; a son, David Londene, Spring Hill; a daughter, Erin Kolz, Lawrence; a brother, James Londene, Englewood, Colo.; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Spring Hill Baptist Church, 406 W. Nichols, Spring Hill. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at the church. Margaret Lord
Margaret J. Lord, 87, Gardner, died on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Good Samaritan Center in Olathe. She was born Nov. 23, 1912, in Evanston, Ill., the daughter of Rev. Alva P. Jones and Mary Ethel Harrison Jones. She grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma where her father served as a Methodist evangelist. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Oklahoma City and attended Emporia State Teachers' College. She was a model for Emery Byrd Thayer in Kansas City for several years. She married Ted W. Lord in 1936. They had six children. He preceded her in death in 1973, as did a daughter, Karen Lundblad; two sisters, Vera Teller and Vonda Ray; and two grandsons. She was a gifted violinist playing first chair with several orchestras. Surviving are two sons, Tim Lord, Clovis, Calif; and Ted Lord, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Barbara Ware, Windsor, Colo.; Diane Quaintance, Gardner; Deborah Treiber, Grandby Colo.; two sisters, Helen Terry, Costa Mesa, Calif.; and Marianne Sullivan, Sarasota, Fla.; a brother, Jim Jones, Costa Mesa; and 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner, and on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Church of the Eternal Hills in Grandby, Colo. Charles Love
Charles W. Love, 89, Fulton, Mo., died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at the Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton. He was born on March 21, 1911, in Williamsburg, Mo., the son of Edgar and Anna (Hunt) Love. He was first married to Anna Elizabeth Bush. She preceded him in death on March 15, 1975. He then married Betty Hockmeyer Payton on Dec. 12, 1975, in Fulton, Mo. He worked as a foreman for the International Shoe Company for nearly 30 years and later as a cook at the Fulton State Hospital for several years. He enjoyed collecting antiques, hunting, fishing, and quilting. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Fulton, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Betty Payton; two daughters, Mary Jane Schultz and her husband John, and Joyce Collins and her husband Tim, all of Fulton, Mo.; one son, Kenneth Love, Olathe; one stepson, Ronnie Payton, Fulton, Mo.; one brother, Ralph Love, O'Fallon, Mo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Interment will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton. Glenn R. Loveless Jr., 81, of Stilwell died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at St. Luke's South Hospital. He was born April 16, 1919, in Detroit. His family moved to Kansas City in 1929. They lived in Raytown, Mo., and in Kansas City, Mo., where he attended Raytown High School. In 1936 during the Depression, he had to quit high school to work. He received a journeyman's card with the Marble Masons, Terrazzo workers and Tile Layers Local Union No. 3 in 1941 at the age of 21. He married Carol Evelyn Daniels on June 15, 1940. They lived in Kansas City before moving to Overland Park in 1945. During World War II, he worked as the Kansas City bomber plant. After the war, he returned to the ceramic tile business. In 1991, he received an award for 50 years of service to the union. He was among the many craftsmen who helped to build the Kansas City Plaza. He was a coach for 33 years at Johnson County 3&2; was on the board of directors for 15 years and was the head of the Sportsmanship Committee. He also sponsored teams for 12 years. His teams won 15 division titles and five championships during his 33 years of coaching. He also had four players reach the major leagues. He attended Overland Park Lutheran Church for 12 years until 1964. He was a charter member of Atonement Lutheran Church until his death. He taught adults classes, served on the church boards and was known for his biblical knowledge and theology. He published an article in the Center for Theology and Natural Science Bulletin in 1989 on "Quantum Physics and Theology." He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Donald Loveless; and a sister, Shirley Mawhiney. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carol Evelyn Loveless, of the home; seven children, Michael and Greg Loveless, both of Olathe, Toni Kimberling, Overland Park, Linda Loveless, Kentucky, Vickie Woloszyn, Bozeman, Mont., Chris Loveless, Stilwell, and Tracy Anderson, Citrus Heights, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Atonement Lutheran Church, Overland Park. Burial will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel, Overland Park. Krystle Lowe
Krystle Davey Lowe, 7, Olathe, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Children's Mercy Hospital. She was a lifelong Olathe resident. She had just completed first grade at Sunnyside Elementary School in Olathe. From a very young age she has been actively competing in quarter horse shows with her horse "Leaguers Foxy Lady." She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Kansas Quarter Horse Association, Northeast Kansas Quarter Horse Association and the MidSouth Quarter Horse Association. Within the American Quarter Horse Association she recorded more than 1,000 hours in the horseback riding program. She leaves her parents, David W. and Teri J. Lowe, of the home; two sisters, Heather E. and Britney T. Lowe of the home; her paternal grandmother, Rosalie (Staten) Lowe, Olathe; and her maternal grandparents, Walter M. and Betty (Schmalz) Gravenstein, Spring Hill. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 143rd and Black Bob Road where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Children's Mercy Hospital Trauma Unit in lieu of flowers.

Gary Lowry
Gary Lowry, 49, of DeSoto, died of a heart attack March 15 at his home. The body was cremated and a memorial service will be at 1 p.m. March 31 in the Great Room at Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp, Fallhall Glen (Black River Falls, WI). Lowry was born in Iola, Wis., and had lived in Metairie, La., before moving to the Kansas City area in 1990. He was a machinist and was working as a certified nurse's assistant at Medicalodge in Gardner at the time of his death. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and collecting sports cards. He is survived by his mother, Audrey of Black River Falls, WI.; his father, Ernest of Janesville, Wis.; a brother, Roger, of York, Neb.; a sister, Sandra Blanchard, of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Susan Grimes of Elkhorn, Neb.; a sister, Carrie Johnson of West Des Moines, Iowa; a brother, Chad of Iowa City, Iowa; and 16 nieces and nephews.

Robert Lucas
Robert Gale Lucas, 83, Olathe, died April 9, 2001, at Olathe Medical Center. He was born August 24, 1917, in Lamar, Mo. He served in the Navy during World War II, and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He spent a majority of his life as a butcher, and after retirement, he served lunches with Olathe District Schools. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, was active as a boy Scout master, and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He is preceded in death by his parents, Segal and Mayme Lucas; his brother, Harold Ross Lucas; and his wife of 58 years, Virginia Rose Lucas. Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Oberjuerge, Judy Chaney, and Vickie Copeland; a son, Bob Lucas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The rosary will be recited on at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd St., Olathe. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church. Burial will be at mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. Contributions may be made to the Shrine Children's Hospital, in care of the Abdallah Shrine Temple, 5300 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66202.

Vida Luttrell
Vida Belle Luttrell, 93, Olathe, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at the Olathe Good Samaritan Center. She was born Feb. 5, 1907, in Wray, Colo., and had lived in Independence, Mo., before moving to Olathe in 1981. She had attended the Liberty Street and Stone Church RLDS churches in Independence, Mo., and most recently was a member of the Olathe RLDS church. She was preceded in death by her husband,Raleigh Floyd Luttrell, in 1962; and two sons, Ralph and Dwight Luttrell. Survivors include four sons, Marvin Luttrell, Largo, Fla.; Gary Luttrell, Olathe; Jerry Luttrell and Donald, both of Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Anita Berbaum, Pomona, Kan.; a brother, Jack Willis, Bald Knob, Ark.; a sister Lila Baur, Lincoln, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the Speaks Midtown Chapel, Independence, Mo. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the chapel. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Olathe Good Samaritan Center. Arrangements are by Speaks Midtown Chapel, Independence, Mo.

Dennis Lynch
Dennis Lynch, 73, of Olathe, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at his home. He was born, Dec. 10, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Allen Edward and Elizabeth Leoda (Chambers) Lynch. He had lived in Olathe for 26 years coming from Decorah, Iowa. He was raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated from Roosevelt High School, in 1947. He attended the University of Iowa and then entered into the U.S. Army. He then graduated from Simpson College in Iowa, and attended University of Minnesota, and worked for the State of Iowa Conservation Department. He then moved to Olathe and established Adventure Cycle. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jamie Lynch. Survivors include, one son, Todd Lynch, of Pittsburgh, Kan.; and two sisters, Kae Thomas, of California, and Margaret Bond, of Texas. Memorial services will be 7 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2001, at W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home, Olathe. Contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice, 12006 W. 87th Parkway, Lenexa, KS 66215.

Mildred Lynn
Mildred M. Lynn, 81, of Shawnee, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Olathe Medical Center. She was born May 6, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, and its quilting group for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira M. Lynn, in 1989. She is survived by four sons, Gene and wife, Donna Lynn, DeSoto; Robert and wife, Pat Lynn, Raymore, Mo.; Elvin and wife, Linda Lynn, Tonganoxie; and Harold and wife, Brenda Lynn, Kansas City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Alden-Harrington Chapel, Bonner Springs. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at the chapel. Burial will be at Old Monticello Cemetery, Shawnee. Memorial contributions may be made to Monticello United Methodist Church.
