Harold Boldt
Harold LaVonne Boldt, 65, died Monday, June 26, 2000, at Carondolet Manor, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born April 8, 1935, at Lyons, Kan., the son of Harold L. and Mildred (Dailey) Boldt. He was a 1953 graduate of Chase High School and had attended Bethany Nazarene College. He married Joy Friedley Aug. 11, 1961.
He had been a farmer for 27 years, and was a truck driver for ABF Freight Line, Kansas City. He was a member of the College Church of the Nazarene, Olathe. He also was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Joy; a son, Glenn L. Boldt, Olathe; two daughters, Javon Agee, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Janette Boldt, Olathe; his mother, Mildred Boldt, Hesston; two brothers, Derald Boldt, Chase, and Kennard Boldt, McPherson; and three sisters, Darleen Jamison, Flagstaff, Ariz., Sharon Malone, Wichita, and Annette Elder, McPherson.
The funeral was June 29 at First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson. Burial was at Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, Bushton.

Jessie Boldt
Jessie Lucille Boldt, 94, of Kansas City, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000.
The visitation was Friday at McGilley Midtown Chapel. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum.

Wanda Booth
Wanda W. Booth, 69, Olathe, died May 25, 2000, at Olathe Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 8, 1920, in Chanute, Kan., and graduated from high school there in 1947. She was a Methodist, a member of the Eastern Star, past president of American Business Women's Association, and a violinist with the Johnson County Symphony Orchestra. She taught grade school in Shawnee for several years, and was one of the first educators to open Neiman Grade School.
She married Richard O. Booth on May 31, 1953, and he survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Joseph W. Booth, Shawnee, and James A. Booth, Olathe; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 29, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
Linda Borchert
Linda Kay Borchert, 48, Pasadena, Texas, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at her home. She was born on March 27, 1952, in Newton, Iowa. She attended Newton High School and was a member of the Foursquare Church. She married Steven Borchert on Feb. 14, 1969.
She is survived by her four sons: Jeffery Borchert, Roanoke, VA; Sgt. James Borchert, Camp Zama, Japan; Jason Borchert, of the home; and Jeremy Borchert, Bastrop, Texas; her mother, Carole Gattenby, Olathe; father and step-mother, Derald and Darlene Dammeier, Indianola, Iowa; a brother, Randy Dammeier, Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Kim McKnight, Olathe; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Pasadena Funeral Home, Pasadena, Texas. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe.

James Borders
James B. Borders, 91, Leawood, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Villa St. Francis, Olathe.
He was born April 1, 1909, in Nashville, Ill. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He retired from Mobil Oil Co., and was an independent CLU insurance agent. He was a longtime member of the Lenexa Lions Club, several Masonic organizations and the Oddfellows. He was a member of the Ward Parkway Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, Mo.
Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Rita, of the home; two sons, James B. Borders Jr., Overland Park, and Robert J. Borders, Olathe; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 18, at Mount Moriah and Freeman Chapel, Kansas City, Mo. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 19, at the chapel. Burial will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.

Huston Bottoms
Huston F. Bottoms, 86, Gardner, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Olathe Medical Center.
He was born March 6, 1915, in Waldron, Ark., the son of Edgar Lambert Bottoms and Mary Lee Huston Bottoms. He grew up in Arkansas and also lived in Kansas City, Mo., from 1940 until 1951. He was a farmer with row crops and a cattle operation while also holding down a full-time job at the U.S. Post Office in Kansas City, Mo. He worked there for 25 years before retiring from the post office in mechanical maintenance. He married Bernice Mueller Bottoms on April 18, 1942, in Waldron, Ark.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Ark.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a machinist mate on the USS Midway.
He was a member of the American Legion LeRoy Hill No. 19; the Rural Fire Department; Johnson County Soil Conservation District; Rural Water District No. 7 (Charter member); andJohnson County Fair Board. He was also a 4-H leader in the Morning Glory 4-H. In the 1930s, he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carlos Gale Bottoms and Lloyd Edgar Bottoms; and two sisters, Cyrea Lee Bottoms and Kathleen Ellen Bottoms.
He is survived by four sons, Robert Huston Bottoms, Kansas City, Mo., Richard A. Bottoms, Spring Hill, Gary K. Bottoms, Gardner, and Daryl D. Bottoms, Hyattsville, Md.; two daughters, Jacquelyn K. Tubbs, Mt. Hope, Kan., and Leesa A. Graham, Olathe; a brother, Ed Dean Bottoms, Apopka, Fla.; four sisters, Mildred Fay Bottoms and Eunice Mozelle Bottoms, both of Springdale, Ark., Julia Bernice Bottoms, Seneca, S.C., and Luretha Dale Bottoms, Mulgrove, Okla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner. Funeral services will follow. Burial and a military graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pisgah Cemetery, Elmwood, Mo.

Harold Boxberger
Harold "Harvey" Boxberger, 77, Hoisington, Kan., died Friday, June 9, 2000, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Barton County, Kan., to J. George and Anna Herrman Boxberger. He was an electrician, retiring from Northern Natural Gas Co. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a Lifetime Member of VFW Post #7428, both in Hoisington. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He was married to Dorothy Nadine Wilhelm on June 10, 1951, in Hoisington. She preceded him in death in 1998. He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Pam Doll Boxberger; two sisters: Lydia Tittel and Elsie Nuss; and three brothers: Jacob, Reuben and Fritz Boxberger.
He is survived by three sons: Harold Boxberger, Olathe; Harvey Boxberger, McPherson; and David Boxberger, Silver Lake; three daughters: Gloria Collier and Mary Ricke, both of Hoisington, and Linda Gennara, Tampa; a brother: Herbert Boxberger, Hoisington; a sister: Esther Schneider, Great Bend; and 15 grandchildren.
Services are to be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2000, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hoisington. Burial is to be at Hoisington Cemetery with military graveside rites by V.F.W. Post #7428 and American Legion Post #286.
A prayer service was June 11 at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.

Frank Boyce
Frank M. Boyce, 83, Olathe, died April 10, 2001, at Villa St. Francis Nursing Center in Olathe.
Frank was born December 29, 1917, and has lived in Olathe for the past 55 years. He was the owner-operator of Ridgeview Carpet in Olathe until 1976 when he retired. Prior to owning the carpet business, he was a home builder in Olathe for 10 years.
He is preceded in death by two grandsons, Travis Smith and Larry Allen Dailey.
He is survived by his wife, Frances N. Boyce of the home; a son, George W. Johnson, Olathe; four daughters, Carolyn Dailey, Gardner, Nancy Helms, Clearwater Beach, Fla., Sandra Clifton, Olathe, and Debi J. Britt, Shawnee; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Betty Bradford
Betty J. Bradford, 70, Olathe, died May 2, 2001, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 7, 1930, in Olathe. She was bookkeeper and secretary for the Olathe District Schools, ending her career at Olathe South High School after 26 years of service. She was a lifelong Olathe resident.
She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Olathe and the Olathe Trail Riders.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Bradford, in 1998, and a great-grandson, Blake Lee Bradford, in 2000.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Bradford and Ronnie Bradford, both of Olathe, and Randy Bradford, Gardner; three daughters, Diane Claar, Spring Hill, Debbie Lark, Edgerton, and Denita Shirk, Wellsville; a sister, Barbara A. Melton, Olathe; 13 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Robert Branson
Robert "Bob" Allen Branson, 72, Gardner, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Severy-Greenwood, Kan., the son of Edward Allen Branson and Ellen Elizabeth (Knight) Branson. He moved to Gardner in 1974 from Kansas City, Kan. He married Jean Rives Branson on June 8, 1974, in Gardner. He worked 43 years for the Santa Fe Railroad, until retiring in 1988; he was station agent at Edgerton and Holliday, and his last position was in quality control.
He was a member of the Full Faith Church of Love, Shawnee, and the Docey Dandies Square Dance Club, Gardner.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Allen Branson Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, of the home; two sons, Gary Branson, Ottawa, and David Branson, Edwardsville; a daughter, Sue McWilliams, Gardner; a stepson, Benton Lutsenhizer, Kansas City, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Debbie Buchfink, Naperville, Ill.; a brother, Frank Branson, Carbondale, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Bruce Bray
Bruce D. Bray 62, Sarcoxie, Mo., died at the Manor Nursing Center in Overland Park on Friday, March 17, 2000.

Mr. Bray was born June 30, 1937, in Kansas City, Mo. He lived in Sarcoxie for the past 16 years and also had lived in Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.
He attended High School in Nevada, Mo., and graduated from high school in Coffeyville, Kan. He served in the U.S. Army. He attended the University of Arizona. He was a salesman for J.C. Penney's and was also in advertising sales.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Carthage, Mo.
Surviving are two sons, Mark A. Bray, Phoenix, Ariz., and James Bray, Tulsa, Okla.; and two brothers, Robert G. Bray, Overland Park, and Hal D. Bray, Jr., Olathe.
Ralph Bray Sr.
Ralph Oscar Bray Sr., 79, Olathe, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at St. Anthony Hospital in Denver.
He was born May 14, 1921, in Gardner, the son of Mary Belle and Walter Vernon Bray.
He was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He was a 53-year member of the Masonic Lodge, Gardner; and an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Olathe New Hope Community Church P.C.A. of Olathe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ralph O. Bray Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy; two sons, Dan Bray, and Ron Bray; a daughter-in-law, Mary; one brother, Donald Bray, five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Virginia Bray
Virginia "Ginny" Ruth Bray, Olathe, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Olathe.
She was born in Rothville, Mo., Dec. 13, 1924. She graduated from North Kansas City High School.
She married Donald Bruce Bray Feb. 2, 1946, in Edgerton, Ks. She lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, and traveled extensively before settling in Olathe in 1963.
She worked as an assessment clerk from 1965-1988 at the Johnson County Assessor's Office. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gardner.
Her parents, William W. Riddell and Ruth Jeffords Riddell, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. David Bruce Bray and wife Melani, Basehor, William Bently Bray and wife Elizabeth, Prairie Village, one daughter, Donna Belle Didde and husband Gerald, Ottawa, Ks., a brother, W.W. Riddell, Freeport, Ill., and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Gardner. Visitation will be at the church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Gardner Cemetery in Gardner.

Anita Breakey
Anita Mae Dalquest Breakey, 69, Kissimmee, Fla., died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, Fla.
She was born in Junction City, Kan., and moved to the central Florida area in 1982 from Kansas. She was a retired home demonstrator for the Hamilton Beach Company and a retired home economics teacher. She taught at Gardner High School from 1961 until 1964. She made a trip home to Kansas last Christmas to visit family and Gardner friends. She fought a courageous battle against cancer.
She is survived by her brother, Gary Dalquest, Wilsey, Kan.
Memorial services were held Monday, June 18, 2001, at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Wilsey, Kan., at a later date.
Ramona Brecheisen
Ramona Ruth Brecheisen, 81, of Eudora, Kan., died March 1, 2000, at the Lawrence Medical Hospital in Lawrence, Kan.
She was born Aug. 2, 1918, in Eudora, to Raymond and Lillian Meyers Stanley. She attended Hesper Grade School, graduated from Eudora High School in 1936, and then graduated from Pittsburg Teachers College, Pittsburg, Kan. On Dec. 24, 1943, she married Wesley Brecheisen in Prairie Center, Kan. She was an elementary school teacher at the rural schools of Evening Star, Hesper, Prairie Center and Hopewell. After consolidation, she taught in the grade schools of DeSoto, Olathe, Gardner-Edgerton and Antioch, until she retired in 1981, after 41 years of teaching. During the summers of World War II, she worked at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant. She was a member of the Hesper Friends Church in Eudora, Kan. She also was a secretary for the Clearfield Grange 1451.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Robert Stanley.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Brecheisen, of the home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Hesper Friends Church, Eudora; the memorial service will be 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Hesper Cemetery, Eudora.

Frieda Brenneman
INMAN, Kan - Frieda M. Brenneman, 88, died April 24, 2001 at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kan.
She graduated from Inman High School in 1932, and from nurses training at Bethel Deaconess Hospital in 1950. She was a registered nurse, providing health-care services at Bethel Kidron and Presbyterian Manor before retiring in 1985. She moved back to Inman in 1995.
She married Roy Brenneman at the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church near Inman on April 20, 1954. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Newton and attended the Inman Mennonite Church.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Ben Ediger and Harry Ediger; and four sisters, Anna Ediger, Bertha Ediger, Rosella Ediger and Edna Doerksen.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Robert Brenneman, Olathe, and Rick Brenneman, Liberal, Kan.; two brothers, Herb Ediger and Delbert Ediger, both of Inman; two sisters, Esther Harms, North Newton, Kan., and Elva Friesen, Hutchinson, Kan.; and five grandchildren, Jeremy, Angelia, Darin and Breanna Brenneman, all of Olathe, and Blake Brenneman, Liberal.

Steven Bridges
Steven C. Bridges, 52, Olathe, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 20, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Paul and Catherine Bridges. He had lived in the Olathe and Overland Park areas all his life. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1969 from the University of Kansas, and a master's degree from Central Missouri State University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He worked many years in manufacturing - specifically the Libby Corporation, Labconco and Standard Havens for the past two years - and was materials manager for Fixtures Furniture in Kansas City, Mo.
He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe. He also was a member of the Kansas City Barbecue Society.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Bridges, of the home; a son, Travis Bridges, of the home; two daughters, Kelly Bridges, of the home, and Tracy Smikahl, Overland Park; his mother, Catherine Bridges, Louisburg; and a brother, Bob Bridges, Overland Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with the rosary at 7 p.m., today at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Olathe. The funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Olathe. Burial will be at the Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.

Wanda Briggs
M. Wanda Briggs, 91, Rantoul, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at her home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1909, in East Lynne, Mo., the daughter of Arwood Stone and Ada (Ammon) Stone. She graduated from high school in East Lynne, Mo. She married Leonard Briggs on Jan. 3, 1931, in East Lynne; they later divorced. She lived in Rantoul before moving to Gardner in 1937, then later moved back to Rantoul, where the two occasions totaled 15 years.
She was a bookkeeper and payroll specialist for several Gardner and Kansas City businesses. She also owned and operated Gardner Cafe in the 1950s, then owned a dress shop afterward. She also prepared income taxes for private clients for more than 50 years.
She was a 73-year member of the Eastern Star Chapter, Gardner.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Eyerly, Rantoul; a brother, William M. Stone, Harrisonville, Mo.; five grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m., with an Eastern Star service at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner. The graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Clearfork Cemetery, East Lynne, Mo.

Brent Broome
Brent T. Broome, 43, Olathe, died Friday, Nov. 17, at North Kansas City Hospital.
He was born Oct. 16, 1957, in St. Louis, Mo., and had lived in the Kansas City area all of his life.
He was a technical manager for Telecable/Time Warner, working for the company for the past 20 years.
He was a member and usher of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe. Through the church, he was a coordinator of a "Renew 2000" group. He coached youth baseball for many years. He was an Eagle Scout.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven and Ben Broome.
Survivors include his wife, Therese L. Broome, of the home; two sons, Kevin M. and Kyle A. Broome, both of the home; a daughter, Katelyn L. Broome, also of the home; his parents, Earl Wayne and Mary Alice Broome, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Earl Wayne Broome Jr., Joplin, Mo., Paul Broome, Grain Valley, Mo., and Joe Broome, Overland Park; his mother-in-law, Grace L. Johnson, Kansas City, Mo.; 19 brothers- and sisters-in-laws; 30 nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Cremation.

Paul Brotherton
Paul Hubert "Nocht" Brotherton, 81, Olathe, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 31, 1919, in Iola, Kan., the son of Frank R. and Clara Cline Brotherton. He served with the U.S. Navy for 24 years and was honorably discharged in 1966. He also worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 25 years, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Kansas in Great Bend, Kan., and Chapter 36 of the Kansas York Rite. He was a member of the Olathe Area Amateur Radio Repeater Group, the Missouri and Kansas councils of amateur radio clubs, and the Shawnee Mission Medical Center Radio Club.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at the W.L. Frye & Son Chapel, Olathe. The funeral will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott.

Claudine Elizabeth Brower, 89, Olathe, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Olathe.
She was born, Aug. 4, 1911, in Vici, Okla., the daughter of Robert Henry and Jessie Marie (Schramling) Speck. She married George Grimes Brower on Sept. 23, 1943, in Blackwell, Okla. They moved to Ponca City, Okla., in 1939 where they reared their four daughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Brower; and a brother, Daniel W. Speck.
Survivors include four daughters, Joyce A. Richards, Oklahoma City, Okla., Jane E. Ney, St. Paul, Minn., Mary C. Uppinghouse, Littleton, Colo., and Peggy Lynn Thompson, Olathe; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.

Carrietta Brown
Carrietta Brown, 90, Olathe, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at her home.
She was born, Sept. 9, 1910, in Ellis County, Kan., the daughter of Umphrey Silas and Grace Claudia (Connelly) Hoffer.
She graduated from WaKeeney High School. She rode her horse to the one-room schoolhouse where she taught for two years. On March 12, 1932, she married Roger Brown and they raised two children. The family moved to Olathe in 1942 to remain together while their children attended Kansas School for the Deaf (KSD).
She worked at KSD three years and also as a Data Entry Operator for the IRS until her retirement in 1965. She was a long-time member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Shawnee.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Hoffer, and three sisters, Gladis Wohborg, Beatrice Rush, and Marie Hoffer.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Brown, Olathe; one son, Carroll Brown, Olathe; one daughter, Twila Jeanne Clark, Olathe; two sisters, Blanche Murphy, Neosho, Mo.; Cora Bland, Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Shawnee, 68th and Pflumm. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe. Danny Brown
Danny R. Brown, 59, Olathe, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Mansfield, Mo. He had lived in the Kansas City area most of his life, including the past 16 years in Olathe.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Stanley. He was a former member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Brown, of the home; two sons, Stephen Brown, Overland Park, and David Brown, Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Suzanne Gordon, Meriden, and Cynthia Crowder, Olathe; two sisters, Peggy Dennis, Mansfield, and Shirley Golding, Springfield, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
The memorial service will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian Church of Stanley, Overland Park.

Gerald Brown, Sr.
Gerald Brown, 72, Olathe, died Monday, June 18, 2001, at the Center for Long Term Care, Olathe.
He was born, April 7, 1929, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Lloyd E. and Irene (Kneisley) Brown. He attended Rosedale High School. He married Mary Maxine Frazee on Dec. 20, 1947. He worked at Acme Typewriter in Kansas City, Mo., until he and his wife took over Brown's Bait and Tackle in Olathe, in June, 1979.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Gerald L. Brown, Jr. and his wife Pam, Stover, Mo., Gary L. Brown, Kansas City, Robert S. Brown, Olathe, Larry R. Brown and wife, Karen, Paola; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Helen Brown
Helen Nadine Brown, 85, Olathe, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at the Royal Terrace Nursing Home in Olathe.
She was born February 14, 1916, in Clinton, Mo., the daughter of Estel and Hattie Cutherall Wilson. In April of 1947 she married Murl Brown, who preceded her in death in 1984. Helen has lived in the Olathe area since 1977 and was a homemaker all of her life. She was also a member of the Quarrells Baptist Church in Clinton, Mo.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, four sisters and an infant grandson.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Shelly Douglas, Wellsville, and Debbie Brown, Olathe; a brother, Norman Wilson, Overland Park; a sister, Ada June Hammond, Carthage, Mo.; two brothers, Paul Wilson and David Wilson, both of Clinton; three stepbrothers, Pat Camden, Jimmy John Camden and Michael Camden, all of Clinton; a stepsister, Mary Jane Renfro, Raymore, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

Stephen Brown
Melvern, KS-Stephen E. Brown, 50, Melvern, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Topeka.
He was born March 31, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Arthur and Rosemary (Young) Brown.
He had lived in Melvern the past 10 years, having come from Olathe, where he had lived most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Army 1969-1972, stationed in Fort Carson, Colo., and in Vietnam. He was a sergeant and twice earned the Purple Heart. He also was an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Brown; and his stepmother, Lorene M. Brown.
Survivors include his father, Arthur Brown, Olathe; a brother, Daniel Moss, Roeland Park; and two sisters, Nancy Roth, Overland Park, and Susan Harvey, Spring Hill.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the W.L. Frye & Son Funeral Home, Olathe. The military service will be 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home.

Sara Browning
Sara Ann Browning, 57, of Lebo, Kan., died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Newman Hospital in Emporia.
She was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Emporia, the daughter of Paul E. and Bertha R. Bowers. She was born with severe Downs Syndrome that caused her to live her parents most of her life. They lived in Emporia and later North Kansas City. In 1976, the family moved to Lebo.
She was a member of the Lebo United Methodist Church.
She participated in day programs at Hartford, Inc., in the mid-1980s. In 1989, she moved to Hartford Manor and continued her educational programs, which included traveling on several Special Olympics trips. She was living at a resident home in Neosho Rapids, Kan., at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one sister, Pauline R. Young, Olathe; two nephews; one niece; and three great-nieces.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Lebo United Methodist Church. Burial will follow services at Lincoln Cemetery in Lebo. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

David Bruce
David Eugene "Sam" Bruce, 45, of Olathe died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Feb. 1, 1955, in Olathe, the son of John W. and Alice B. (Taylor) Bruce.
He was a lifelong resident of Olathe. He graduated from Olathe High School in 1973. He became a member of St. Paul's A.M.E. Church in 1989 and served on the trustee board and the usher board.
He worked for the last 12 years with several local moving companies.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosetta and John Bruce, and Margie and Adison Taylor; and one sister, Margie Rosetta Bruce.
Survivor's include three children, Shavonne Person, Denver, and Derek and Derone Hall, both of Olathe; his parents of Olathe; five brothers, John Bruce Jr., Kansas City, Mo., Stuart Bruce, Kansas City, Kan., and Donald Bruce, Stephan Bruce and Shannon Bruce, all of Olathe; and six sisters, Judy (Wendell) Turner, Gwen Bruce, Christine Sipple, Romona Bruce, Sonya Rice and Sherrye Bruce, all of Olathe.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, at St. Paul's A.M.E. Church, Olathe. Burial will be at Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday until service time at the church.

Glenda Brumley
Glenda S. Brumley, 61, rural Spring Hill, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 20, 1939, in Phelps, Mo., the daughter of Gilbert and Margaret (Nevins) Tartar. She moved to Spring Hill in 1985 from Olathe. She had lived in LaRussell, Mo., as a young child; and in Miller, Mo., through high school before moving to Olathe in 1962.
She was a graduate of Miller High School and attended business college in Springfield. Mo. She was a secretary, working at the Marley Cooling Tower Company in Olathe for 18 years. She retired in 1996. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gardner.
She married D. Wilson Brumley on June 7, 1958, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her father, Gilbert Tartar, Gardner; two sons, James D. Brumley, Lawrence, and Jerry R. Brumley, Olathe; a daughter, Janet D. Abke, San Jose, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1997.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the First Baptist Church, Gardner. Burial will be at the Gardner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

S.R. Brunn
S.R. Brunn, 87, died Jan. 20, 2001, at Good Samaritan Center, 20705 W. 151st Street.
He was born March 30, 1913, in Colorado. He received a degree in architectural engineering from Kansas University and worked for TWA until forming S.R. Brunn Construction Co. in 1946.
He married Virginia Detjen in 1941. In 1976, the Brunns founded Faith Village, a residential facility for developmentally disabled adults. He was the recipient of the Milton Erickson Award from United Community Services and the Humanitarian Award from Johnson County Association of Retarded Citizens. He also served on many organizations and board including Trinity Lutheran Hospital, Good Samaritan House, Blue Valley Industries, Association of General Contractors, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Professional Engineers and Kansas City Bank. He was a member of the Brangus Breeders Association and Rotary Club International.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Brunn.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter Martha and husband Robert Ulmer; daughter Rebecca and husband Spencer Matters; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 25 at Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel, 105th and Holmes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Good Samaritan Center or the Alzheimer's Association.
Alice Bryant
Alice Mae Bryant, 65, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Good Samaritan Towers, 1425 E. College Way, Olathe.
She was born Oct. 13, 1935, in Stillwell. She lived in Olathe with her husband, Walter Bryant, who died in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela Morris and her husband Brian of Raymore, Mo.; stepdaughter Cathy Knapp of Lincoln, Neb.; brothers Conway Dougan, Donald Dougan, Thomas Dougan and David Dougan of Shawnee; sisters Waneta Morrison of Shawnee and Katheryn Burkard of Bates City, Mo.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Fry & Son Mortuary, 105 E. Loula.
