Robert Wolf
Robert Paul Wolf, 65, Olathe, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Olathe Medical Center, 20700 W. 151st St. He was born Sept. 22, 1935, in Manhattan, NY. He moved to Los Angeles, Calif., when he was three. He worked for theatrical equipment manufacturers until 1977 when he started his own business, Premier Designs in Oakland, Calif. He moved to Olathe in the early 1990s, where he met his wife Gloria in 1995. He loved history, especially the American Civil War. He was a sports spectator, he loved old movies, ships, lighthouses, big band music, Barbra Streisand, and Callie, Into, Junie and Super Max. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; his children, Laurie Wolf, Scott Wolf, and Donna Brawley; and one grandson. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home in Olathe. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in lieu of flowers.

Dorothy Wood
Dorothy Melton Wood, 91, Olathe, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at her home. She was born Sept. 28, 1909, in Bonita, the daughter of Fred and Stella (Elliot) Roberts. She was a lifelong resident of the Olathe area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olathe where she was involved in many of its groups and organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John P. Melton, in 1958; husband, Luther Wood, in 1974; son, Benny M. Melton; daughter, Patricia Allenbrand; brothers, Harold and Joe Roberts; and sister, Maxine Abell. Survivors include two sons, Johnny A. Melton, Santa Paula, Calif.; and Tommy G. Melton, Olathe; two daughter, Darlene Gillihan, Olathe; and Marva Melton, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Lloyd Roberts and Dale Roberts, both of Olathe, and Woody Roberts, St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Lois Johnson and Shirley Hampton, both of Olathe; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10, at the First Baptist Church, 2024 E. 151st, Olathe Friends may call an hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church.

Tanner Wood
Tanner Lee Wood, infant son of Brien Marshall and Tammy Sue (Norman) Wood, Gardner, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2000, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He was born Oct. 19. Survivors include his parents and a brother, Travis Wood, Gardner; his grandparents, Jan and JoAnn Norman, Scott City, Don and Jan Jones, Atlanta, Ga., and William E. Wood, Paducah, Ky.; his great-grandparents, Everett and Edith Ross Norman, Scott City, Hazel Browning, Scott City, and Raymond and Velma Nooney, Dix, Ill.; and several aunts and uncles. The funeral will be 7 p.m. Saturday at the Countryside Christian Church, Mission. A private graveside service and burial will be at the Gardner Cemetery. Heather Workman
Heather Lynn Workman, 27, of Olathe, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at her home. She was born Dec. 21, 1973, in Lorain, Ohio, the daughter of Ronald Lee and Jennifer Workman. She was a graduate of Olathe North High School and was attending Wright Business College. Survivors include her mother, of the home; her father and stepmother, Janice K. Workman, Olathe; her sister, Kimberly Workman, Olathe; a brother, Grant, and his wife, Dawn, Olathe; her maternal grandmother, Eunice Lasch, Bridgeport, Ohio; four aunts; two uncles; and two nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 143rd and Black Bob Road. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kansas Special Olympics, 5280 Foxridge Drive, Overland Park, KS 66202.

Jason Worley
Jason Michael Worley, 25, Olathe, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at home. He was born Oct. 20, 1974, in Larned, Kan. The first 10 years of his life, he lived in Lewis, Kan., before his family moved to Mesa, Ariz., for four years. He had lived in Olathe since 1988. Survivors include his parents, Michael and Charlotte Worley, of the home; a brother, Eric Worley, of the home; a sister, Sara McCue, Olathe; his grandparents, Ross and Joan Worley, Council Grove, Kan., and Jim and Adah Cross, Lewis. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Olathe. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe.

Irene Worrell
Irene Worrell, 92, Olathe, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Olathe. She was born Nov. 28, 1907, in Wilmore, Kan., the daughter of William Henry and Essie Belle (Sumner) Noel. She had lived in the Kansas City area since the mid-1950s. She taught china painting from her home and had won several state championships. She married Howard G. Worrell in 1924, who preceded her in death in 1989. Survivors include a son, Donald G. Worrell, Quartzsite, Ariz.; two daughters, Louise Brauer, Columbus, Ohio, and Kathie Hampton, Shawnee; two brothers; five sisters; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 8076, Prairie Village, Kan. 66208.

H. Lorene Wright
H. Lorene Wright, 63, of Osawatomie, Kan., died Monday, March 12, 2001, at her home. H. Lorene Wright was born July 8, 1937, in the Valley Township in Paola, Kan., the daughter of Harley and Gladys Hoyle Hickman. Lorene grew up in the Osawatomie area where she attended Plum Creek rural grade school and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1955. After graduating she was united in marriage to Cecil Caraway and together they had four children, Fred, Ted, Linda and Lisa, this marriage later ended in divorce. Lorene worked for several local restaurants before moving to California in July of 1964. She lived in the California area until 1974 when she moved back to the area. While employed at Mettles Cafe she met Wendell A. Wright and they were later united in marriage on Feb. 3, 1975. Together they made their home in Osawatomie. For the past 15 years, Lorene had driven back and forth to Olathe, where she was employed by Perkins Restaurant. Lorene was a former member of the Miami County Eagle Club #2673. She enjoyed playing bingo, loved shopping, sewing, embroidering, and one of her favorite things was traveling to Ohio to spend time with her daughter. She also enjoyed gardening and loved being around horses. Besides her father, Harley, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Fred and Ted Caraway. Survivors include her husband, Wendell A. Wright, of the home; two daughters, Linda Trumbly, of Osawatomie; and Lisa Blahusch, of Pickerington, Ohio; her mother, Gladys Hickman, of Paola; one sister, Eleanor Rhoades, of Paola; three brothers, Kenny Hickman, of Parsons, Kan.; Clifford Hickman, of Spring Hill; and George Hickman, of Paola; two stepdaughter's, Terri Dalrymple, of Stanley, Kan.; and Wendy Cherry, of Baldwin City, Kan.; two stepsons, Randy Wright, of Bonner Springs, Kan.; and Roger Wright, of Paola; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2001, at the Wilson and Son Funeral Home, Paola, Kan.; burial will follow the service in the Beagle Cemetery, Rural Miami County, Kan. Jessie Wright
Jessie Marie Wright, 79, Paola, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe. She was born Nov. 21, 1920, in rural Miami County, Kan., near Drexel, Mo., to Ralph L. and Mary E. (Wilds) Laughlin. She grew up near the Drexel area and was a 1937 graduate of Drexel High School. She attended beauty school and was a beautician for 15 years at various beauty salons. She married Clifford C. Wright Jr. on Dec. 2, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan. Soon after, they settled in the Lawrence area, later moving to Paola. She was an active member of the Paola United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School many years and was active in the United Methodist Women's Group. She also belonged to the Family and Community Education Unit, formerly the E.H.U., in Paola. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Clark; and a sister, Eithel. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Clifford C. Wright, of the home; two sons, Chuck Wright, Paola, and Brian C. Wright, LaCross; three daughters, Anita M. Gilmore, Olathe, and Libby J. Schmidt and Carol L. Sandburg, both of Paola; a sister, Norma Hewitt, Wichita; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson & Son Funeral Home, Paola. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Paola. Wendell Wright
Wendell A. Wright, 66, Osawatomie, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at the K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Topeka, son of Donald I. and Imolee Britton Bradford. He grew up in the Topeka area, where he graduated from high school. He married Cheryl J. Green on June 27, 1954 in Topeka. Through out his life he lived in Topeka, Kansas City, Mo., Lee's Summit, Mo., Paola and Osawatomie. On Feb. 3, 1975, he married Lorene Wright. He owned and operated the Hillcrest Drive for 13 years before selling the business. He later opened the Wright Appliance and Antique Store. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorene; and two stepsons, Ted and Fred. Survivors include two daughters, Terrie Dalrymple, Stanley, and Windy Cherry, Baldwin City; two sons, Randy Wright, Wilma, Bonner Springs, Kan., and Roger Wright, Paola; two brothers, Merrill A. Wright, Lee's Summit, and Benjamin L. Wright, Grand Prairie, Texas; two stepdaughters, Linda Trumbly, Osawatomie, and Lisa Blahush, Pickering, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral Services are 11 a.m. today at the Mount Hope Chapel Mausoleum in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, Kan.; burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Amy Wulff
Amy E. Wulff, 15, Olathe, Kan. died Thursday March 22, 2001 at the home nearly four years after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Wulff was born Sept. 11, 1985, in Kansas City, Mo. She was a freshman at California Trail Junior High School. During her eighth-grade year, she was the basketball manager for the girls' basketball team. She played softball for OGSA in 1996. She played violin in the school orchestra in fifth-, sixth- and seventh-grade. She is survived by her parents, Howard and Kim Wulff; two sisters, Rachel and Lisa Wulff; maternal grandparents, Paul and Lynne Weidmaier; paternal grandparents, John and Merle Pace; aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to thank its extended families at Prince of Peace Church, Heatherstone Elementary School, California Trail Junior High School, University of Kansas Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral mass will be 4 p.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd St., Olathe. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at D. W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Ave. The rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Pediatric Classroom at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Att: Kathy Davis. The classroom was a bright spot; a safe haven for her during her many hospitalizations.

Vi Yager
Vi C. Yager, 79, Olathe, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at her home. She was born in Bristow, Okla. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, John Yager, of the home; six children; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial visitation will begin at noon, Saturday, May 6, 2000, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.

Doris Yantis
Doris G. Yantis, 85, Shawnee, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. A lifelong Shawnee resident, she was born Feb. 17, 1915, in Shawnee to George and Ida Cathey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Norvell Yantis, in 1958. Survivors include two sons, Gary Yantis, Shawnee, and George Yantis, Olathe; a daughter, Susan Bolton, Overland Park; a brother, Robert Cathey, Olathe; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Amos Family Chapel, Shawnee. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the Shawnee United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Shawnee Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee United Methodist Church.

James Young
James B. Young, 89, Olathe, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Olathe. He was born Dec. 14, 1911, at Kenneth, Kan., the son of James L. and Emma M. Garber Young. He had lived in the Stanley area all of his life. He was a carpenter, and was a member of Carpenter Local No. 714. He was a member of Stanley Community Church and Stanley Lodge No. 444 AF&AM. He served on the Pleasant Valley Cemetery Board and on the Stanley High School and Grade School Boards. He married Louise Knoche on Nov. 2, 1934, in Olathe. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Edmond Young and LeRoy Young, both of Olathe; one sister, Lila Knoche, Ottawa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Olathe. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stanley Community Church, 14800 Metcalf Ave. Stanley, KS 66223 or The Good Samaritan Center, 29795 W. 151st, Olathe, KS 66061.

Robert Zigenbein
Robert E. Zigenbein, 81, Olathe, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at Center for Long Term Care. He was born Feb. 19, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo. Survivors include his wife, Irene Zigenbein, Olathe and a sister, Sue Shaffer, Texas. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home, Olathe. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jane Zimmerman
Jane I. Zimmerman, 81, Wichita, died June 15, 2001, at her home. She was born June 30, 1919, in Wichita to David and Bernice (Welsh) Shaw. She was a homemaker. She married John J. Zimmerman II, on Feb. 8, 1942, in Wichita. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1972. Survivors include a son, John J. Zimmerman III, Olathe; twin daughters, Julie Leeper, Burleson, Texas, and Judy Ermey, Derby, Kan.; seven grandsons and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Mortuary, Derby, Kan. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the department of music at Friends University.
