Zelda Mae Craig
Zelda Mae "Kerby" Craig, 88, died Friday at Olathe Medical Center. She was a resident of Lakeview Village, Lenexa, and had previously lived in Raymore, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan.
She was born Aug. 21, 1911, in Carroll County, Mo. She attended Warrensburg and Ft. Collins, Colo. colleges. She received her bachelor's degree from U.M.K.C. She was married to Estes Alvin Craig and mother of three.
She was an elementary school teacher for 20 years in the Kansas City, Kan., school district, retiring in 1973. She previously taught in Carroll county, Mo., starting at age 17. She was active in the Wyandotte County Retired Teachers' Association and served as an active member and officer of Alpha Delta Kappa, a worldwide sorority for teachers.
She was an active member and trustee at Hillcrest Christian Church. She led by example, teaching Sunday school beginning at age 16 and continuing into her 80s.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Judge Grover C. and Erma L. Kerby, and her sister, Norma Louise.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Estes A. Craig; two son Don Craig and E. Elton Craig; daughter, Linda; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Hillcrest Christian Church, Lenexa.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Hillcrest Christian Church Choir or the Wyandotte County Retired Teachers' Association Scholarship Fund.
Bonnie Cramer
Bonnie H. Cramer, 68, Bonner Springs, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at her daughter's home in Olathe.
She was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Iberia, Mo. She had lived in the Bonner Springs area for more than 48 years.
She had owned several restaurants in the 1950s and had sold real estate several years. She was a member of the Loring Sunshine Club for 41 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy "Bud" Cramer, in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Mike Cramer, Bonner Springs; two daughters, Lana Papineau, Lenexa, and Barbara McEver, Olathe; two brothers, Morris Thomas, Bellevue, Neb., and Max Stafford, Arnold, Mo.; a sister, Peggy Wright, Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Alden-Harrington Chapel, Bonner Springs. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be at the Bonner Springs Cemetery in Bonner Springs.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Olathe or the University of Kansas.
Kathleen Crandall
Kathleen G. Crandall, 91, of Gardner and Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Medicalodge of Gardner.
She was born Dec. 19, 1909, in South Fork, Pa., the daughter of Samual Golden and Ella Weimert Golden. She lived in Orlando, Fla., St. Petersburg, Fla., for 10 years, Spring Hill from 1993-1997 and then at the Medicalodge of Gardner.
She was a graduate of the School of Nursing, Pittsburgh. She was a registered nurse, working in the private sector. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Farrell Sr. She then married Dr. Robert Allen Crandall, D.D.S.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Advent Church in St. Petersburg, Fla., and past president of the Florida Dental Association Women's Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Dr. Robert Allen Crandall, D.D.S.; three sisters, Laura and Marjorie and Madeline; and two brothers, DeForest and Marshall.
Survivors include son, Walter J. Farrell, Spring Hill; three stepsons, Robert Crandall Jr., James Crandall and Jack Crandall; one sister, Jean Hope, Gainesville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A private family inurement will be at a later date at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

Esther Crane
Esther Gwen (Hower) Crane, 85, Olathe, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at CLC Nursing Center in Olathe.
She was born June 13, 1914, in Olathe, the twin daughter of Harrison and Alwilda (Wood) Hower. She lived in the Olathe area her entire life. She was a lifelong member of the Olathe church now known as Grace United Methodist.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Samuel Crane, in 1938; her husband of 54 years, Oscar Crane, in 1991; and a brother, Samuel Hower, in 1995.
Survivors include four sons, Dean Crane, Overland Park, Gene Crane, Tokyo, Japan, Mark Crane, Marion, Iowa, and Bruce Crane, Olathe; three daughters, Gwen Anderson, Mary Anne Fasse and Sarah Golinvaux, all of Olathe; a stepson, Ivan Crane, Olathe; a twin sister, Ethel O. (Hower) Vohs, Olathe; 17 grandchildren; and more than 20 great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 7, at W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home, Olathe. The graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery.

Fern Crawford
Fern E. (Phillips) Crawford, 96, Olathe, formerly of Paola, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Center in Olathe.
She was born Sept. 18, 1903, in Healy, Kan., the daughter of George Edward "Ned" and Nora (Bryan) Phillips. She spent most of her life in Miami County, with her younger years on a farm south of Louisburg. Her family moved to Paola, where she was a 1922 graduate of Paola High School. She attended Kansas State University, where she majored in home economics and was a Delta Pi sorority member. She married Ted Crawford on Feb. 17, 1926, and they spent most of their married life in Paola. She was a member and a former Sunday School teacher of the First Presbyterian Church of Paola. She had lived the last several years in Olathe, and was a member of the Olathe Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Crawford, in 1980; and a brother, Earl Phillips.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Rossman and her husband Dick, Olathe; a granddaughter, Ann McCort and her husband Bill, Olathe; and three great-grandchildren, Maren, Ashley and Marc McCort, all of Olathe.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wilson and Son Funeral Home, Paola. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Paola Cemetery.

Jay Crawford
Jay C. Crawford, 87, Overland Park, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1913, in Ottawa, the son of Jackson and Jennie (Hume) Crawford.
He served in the U.S. Army in Europe doing World War II. He was a sergeant in the 7th Army, 3rd Division, 15th Infantry, and was awarded a Bronze Star. He served in campaigns in Algeria-French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Naples-Foggie, Southern France, Rome-Arno and the Rhineland.
He was a home builder in Johnson County.
He was preceded in death by his son, Barry J. Crawford, in 1960.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Crawford, of the home; his daughter, Marcia Lindsey, Houston; two brothers, Woodrow and Herbert Crawford, both of Ottawa; two sisters, Nellie Howell, Olathe, and Cleda Hayden, Ottawa; and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at McGilley and Hoge Memorial Chapel.
The family requests contributions to the American Heart Association.
Geraldine Cress
Geraldine "Jeri" Cress, 67, of Olathe, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Jasper County, Ind., and has been living in Olathe since 1983, coming from Broken Arrow, Okla.
She had been working as the senior accounting clerk for American Identity in Kansas City for the past six years. Prior to that, she was accounting supervisor for Wiston property Management Company, where she had worked since 1983.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; a brother, Delos Longstreth; and her husband, McKinley H. Cress, in 1998.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Donna Lee Moss, Keaau, Hawaii; two nephews, David Longstreth and Jeff Longstreth both of Rensselaer, Ind.; three nieces, Susan Hammond, Rensselaer, Ind.; Marianne Linback, Winamac, Ind.; and Beth Ann Hammond, Gunersville, Ala.; and a sister-in-law, Marlene Longstreth, Rensselaer, Ind.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Olathe where friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley.

John Crim
John Fredrick Crim, 40, of Lenexa, formerly of Leavenworth, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 23, 1960 in Winchester, Va., the son of John F.L. and Shirley (Dawson) Miller Crim. He was a 1978 graduate of Leavenworth High School, and later attended the University of Kansas. He was retired as a sergeant in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his parents, John F.L. Crim, Leavenworth; his mother, Shirley Miller, Shawnee; one brother, Jeffrey S. Crim, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Susan M. Crim, Shawnee, and Judi Brewer, Olathe; one niece, four nephews, several uncles, aunts, maternal grandparents Amy and Stanley Barnes, Winchester, Va.; and his maternal great-grandmother Evelyn Barnes, Winchester, Va.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 3, 2000 at the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Leavenworth. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Leavenworth.

Paul Crutchfield
Paul E. Crutchfield, 80, DeSoto, died on Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, in LaCygne.
He was born 1920 in Arkansas. He married Doris Crutchfield in 1942, and moved to DeSoto in 1951. He had a welding shop in Desoto and retired from General Motors in 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, of the home; three sons, Charles Crutchfield and Paul Crutchfield Jr., of the home, and Larry Crutchfield, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Mary Landess, Kansas City, Kan., and Kathy Fricky, DeSoto; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, DeSoto. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Robert Crumly
Robert "Robbie" M. Crumly, 21, Eudora, died July 30, 2000, in DeSoto, from an automobile accident.
He was born Aug. 12, 1978, in Kansas City, Mo. He was a 1996 graduate of DeSoto High School. He worked at Eudora Feed and Grain.
Survivors include his mother, Sharon Grant, Ballwin, Mo.; his father, Michael L. Crumly, Lenexa; two brothers, Jeff Crumly, Lenexa, and Mathew Crumly, DeSoto; and three grandparents, Max Crumly, DeSoto; and Robert and Donna Werner, St. Louis, Mo.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, DeSoto. The funeral will be noon today at the chapel. Burial will be at the DeSoto Cemetery.
George Cuddeback
George Thomas "Tom" Cuddeback, 85, Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Spring Hill, the son of James David Cuddeback and Eva May (Mower) Cuddeback. He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School. He attended Rice University in Texas and other business colleges. He lived briefly in California, 1934-1935, then returned to Kansas City, where he studied business and accounting 1934-1935 in California.
He was a World War II veteran, having served 1942-1945 in the U.S. Army as a tech sergeant.
He was an accountant at Healzer Cartage Co. of Kansas City. He retired in 1977 after more than 13 years with the U.S. Postal Service at the Shawnee Mission Post Office. He also had managed, from 1950 to 1999, the Cuddeback farm, where his grandfather had settled in 1884. He never married.
He was a Methodist and a member of the American Legion in Spring Hill.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Cuddeback.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Cuddeback, Shawnee; two nephews, Herbert Simons, Houston, Texas, and Dr. Elwyn Simons, Durham, N.C.; two grandnephews; and a grandniece.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bruce Funeral Home, Spring Hill. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Spring Hill.

Cecile Culp
Cecile M. Culp, 89, DeSoto, died Friday May 4, 2001.
She was born June 3, 1911. She was a lifelong resident of De Soto, but lived in Shawnee with her daughter during her illness.
She was a graduate of Dickenson Business College and Sherwood Conservatory of Music where she earned her teacher's degree in organ and piano. She was an organist and pianist in churches, and was the author of several books: "The History of Lenape" and "History of DeSoto, Ks." were her favorites.
She is survived by one daughter, Joann Mizell of Shawnee; two sons, Jim Alexander, Sun City, Ariz., and Jack Alexander, Fulton, Mo.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, De Soto. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the chapel.
Shirley Cunningham
Shirley Jean Cunningham, 54, Olathe, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Olathe Medical Center.
She was born July 31, 1946, in Gardner, the daughter of James E. Cunningham Sr. and Wanda L. (Morgan) Cunningham.
She was a lifelong resident of the Johnson County area, and attended the Faith Baptist Church, Olathe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Roy and Gary Cunningham.
Survivors include, one son, who's name is not available; one daughter, Susan Sanders, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, James Cunningham, Olathe; Albert Cunningham, Kansas City; and Homer Cunningham, Montana; two sisters, Mary Sanders, Kansas City, Mo., and Virginia Potts, DeSoto; and her companion, Bob Duvall, of the home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, at W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home, Olathe. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
