Renee Philippi and Jim Arensberg were married May 27, 2005 at the historic Loretto in Kansas City, Mo. Parents of the couple are Cheryl and Michael Philippi and Luetta and Lee Arensberg. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Sean Sears. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a Christina New York strapless Swarovski crystal beaded gown, with A-line skirt and sweep train. A crystal tiara and veil complemented the gown. The bride carried a bouquet of pink and white peonies. Janet Arensberg, sister of the groom, of Prairie Village served as maid of honor and Jamie Philippi, brother of the bride, of Chicago, Ill., served as the best man. Ushers were Lee Arensberg, brother of the groom, of Denver, Colo.; Mark Arensberg, brother of the groom; and Mark Arensberg, nephew of the groom, both of Leawood. The bride received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Kansas State University and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Missouri. She is employed at Truman Medical Center as a senior social worker in Kansas City, Mo. The groom received his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Kansas. He is employed by Benefit Designs in Overland Park. The couple makes their home in Prairie Village.
