Kimberly Ann Williams of Manhattan and Raymond Allen Cloyd of Urbana-Champaign, Ill., were married on July 30, 2005 at Powell Gardens in Kingsville, Mo. The Rev. Randy Schilling officiated the single-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Ronnie and Ed Drees of Great Bend, the late Gary Williams and Rose and Ron Cloyd of Sonora, Calif. The bride wore an elegant white matte-satin gown styled in a princess silhouette, featuring a scooped, sweetheart neckline with short sheer sleeves embellished with delicate romance lace. Her full tulle ballroom skirt swept into its own chapel train and was accented by matching beaded lace medallions on the front of the skirt and down the train. Sandy Mauler of Chicago, Ill., and Michelle Bell Palmer of Indianapolis, Ind., served as co-maids of honor. They wore pastel-pink knee-length dresses of their own selection. The bride’s brother, Ryan Williams, of New York, N.Y., and Dick Oliver of Urbana-Champaign, Ill., gave readings during the ceremony. The bride is a 1984 graduate of Great Bend High School, receiving a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in 1988. She obtained her master’s and her doctoral degree in horticulture from North Carolina State University in 1991 and 1995. She is an associate professor of floriculture production at Kansas State University in Manhattan. The groom received his bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Cal-Poly and his master’s and doctoral degrees in entomology from Purdue University. He is an associate professor of entomology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The couple makes their home in Manhattan.
