Anjie Burkhart and Jamie Weidman were married on Aug. 20, 2005 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend. The Rev. Ted Stoecklein officiated the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Jerry and Rose Ann Burkhart of Great Bend, Jan Heffner of Kaw City, Okla., and Bob Weidman of Mountain Home, Ark. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a beautiful gown by Maggie Sottero. The dress was a strapless chiffon with a corset back. The flattering silhouette featured embroidery, accenting the neckline with asymmetrical gathers at the side waist. The dress also had a side-skirt godet, giving the skirt a flirty, whimsical feel. The bride wore a fingertiplength veil over baby’s breath in an elegant up do. The bride’s bouquet consisted of white calla lilies, pink roses and greenery in a cascading arrangement. Wendy Fleske of Chicago, Ill., served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Crista Robinson of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Joni Soukup of Overland Park, future sister-in-law of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Kenzie Richards and Chloe Reed of Wichita, cousins of the bride. The bridesmaids wore sky-blue chiffon gowns with spaghetti straps and carried bouquets of white calla lilies, pink gerbera daisies and greenery. Brent Dorrah of Wichita served as the best man. The groomsmen were Scott Mitchell of Wichita and Ray Weidman, brother of the groom, of Wichita. Emma Weidman, niece of the groom of Wichita was the flower girl. Gage Reed, cousin of the bride, of Wichita was the ring bearer. Instrumental music was provided by organist, Connie Schneweis, of Great Bend. Greg Holthaus of Columbia, Mo., and Julie Ryan of Wichita were the vocalists. Ushers were Chad Allen of Wichita, Jeremy Burkhardt, brother of the bride, of Overland Park, and Bryan Mermis, cousin of the bride, of Great Bend. The bride is a 1994 graduate of Great Bend High School and a 1999 graduate of Kansas State University. She is a structural engineer at Dudley Williams and Associates in Wichita. The groom is a 1991 graduate of Southeast High School in Wichita. He is the general manager of Audio Dimensions in Wichita. The couple makes their home in Wichita.
