Rachel E. Brining and Justin Lee Mawhirter were united in marriage on May 31, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Dwight Dozier. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Parents of the couple are Roger and Erika Brining and Dan and Teresa Mawhirter.
Maid of honor was Sara Hayden of Great Bend. Bridesmaids were Valerie McAtee, Amber Henderson and Rebecca Brining, sister of the bride, all of Great Bend.
Best man was Eric Conrady of Montrose, Colo. Groomsmen were Tim Shumate of Lawrence, Ryan Parr of Great Bend and Hans Nickel of Augusta.
Ushers were Chad Mawhirter and Chance Mawhirter, both brothers of the groom, and Joshua Koelsch, all of Great Bend, and Kirby Nickel of Augusta.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Great Bend High School and is attending Barton County Community College. She is employed at the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development as a project assistant.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Great Bend High School and a 2006 graduate of Butler Community College with a degree in fire science. He is employed in the family business, Isern Electric, Plumbing and Heating, as a plumber.
The couple reside in Great Bend.
