Jennifer Marie Miller and Matthew Edward Gilmore were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony on July 28, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg. Parents of the couple are John and Connie Miller of Claflin and John and Kathie Gilmore of Pittsburg. The ceremony was officiated by the Most Reverend Bishop Ronald M. Gilmore, DD, of Dodge City and Father Tom Stroot, of Pittsburg.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a fitted Pronovias gown with trumpet skirt. The gown and train were constructed of plumetti tulle and adorned with lace appliqués. The bodice and skirt were accented with a satin bow. The shoulder-length veil also fashioned a matching satin bow. The bride carried a hand-tied, round bouquet of white calla lilies, white lilies and white and yellow narcissus.
Maid of honor was Lisa Gruver of Winfield. Bridesmaids were Aubrey Folk of Emporia, Bobbi Sue Musgrove of Memphis, Tenn., and Katy Struble of Derby. They wore black, tea-length, strapless dresses adorned with lace and a satin ribbon around the waist. They each carried bouquets similar to the bride's.
Best man was Mark Schremmer of Topeka. Groomsmen were Ryan Boler and Zack Manns of Pittsburg, and Jerrod O'Nelio of Los Angeles, Calif.
Ushers were Mark Miller, brother of the bride, and Brent Fast and Phil Spieckermann, both of Wichita. Lectors were Amy Renn, sister of the groom, and Grant Miller, brother of the bride. Soloist was June Abbott, Atlanta, Ga., aunt of the bride.
The bride graduated from Claflin High School in 2001. She received a bachelor's degree in biology in 2005 and is attending Wichita State University. She anticipates graduating in May with a doctorate of physical therapy.
The groom graduated from St. Mary's Colgan High School in 1997. He received a bachelor's degree from Pittsburg State University in finance and marketing and received a master's degree in business administration in 2005. He works as an associate national bank examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of Currency in Joplin, Mo.
The couple reside in Pittsburg.
