Christie Holzwarth and Brian Foster were united in marriage on Oct. 28, 2006 at St. Fidelis Cathedral in Victoria. The Rev. Charles Polifka officiated at the doublering ceremony. Parents of the couple are Randy and Barb Holzwarth of St. Francis and Eldon and Beth Foster of Great Bend. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Alfred Angelo strapless, satin gown with Schiffli lace and beading on the bodice. The castilian train was also adorned with schiffli lace and beading detail. Her two-tiered veil of bridal illusion shimmered with pearls. She wore a pearl necklace, a gift from her father, and carried a lace handkerchief that her mother and grandmother carried at their weddings. Her bouquet included white sweetheart roses, gardenias and dendrobium orchids. Tommi Berning of Marienthal served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sunne Day of Oklahoma City, Okla., Tori Sieben of Manhattan, Keri Suppes of Hays and Kirbe Riedel of Lawrence. They wore floor-length strapless gowns of purple satin. Each carried a simple bouquet of dendrobium orchids. Stacey Dougherty of Great Bend served as best man. Groomsmen were Mark Gepner and Mark Breuer, both of Kansas City, Chad Suppes of Hays, and Brian Holzwarth of St. Francis. Kaitlyn Suppes, niece of the groom, and Zachery Berning were the flower girl and ring bearer. Ushers were Jon Zweygardt of Evans, Colo., Kyle Buffington of Hays, and Karl Kaiser and Ryan Habiger, both of Bushton. Vocalists were Sage Harris, cousin of the bride, and Talley Morrow of St. Francis. The Glorianna Quartet of Hays played the processional during the full Mass ceremony. The bride is a graduate of St. Francis High School and the University of Nebraska-Kearney. She is employed by Newman Regional Health. The groom is a graduate of Great Bend High School and Kansas State University. He is employed by BG Consultants as a design engineer. The couple reside in Emporia.
