Erin Renee Owen and Brett Adam Hemphill were married on Dec. 17, 2005 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington. The Rev. Pascal Klein officiated the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Carrol and Debbie Owen of Hoisington and Brad and Sue Hemphill of Great Bend. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of diamond white, Italian satin by Victoria’s Bridal Collection. The gown featured a triple-banded strapless bodice with silver and pearl beaded embroidery. Covered buttons led to an open keyhole train with silver and pearl beaded embroidery and a box-pleated skirt. She also wore a bun ring, head piece with pearl and crystal flowers and vines and a fingertip-length veil with a blusher. She carried a nosegay of fresh red roses, hand-tied with cream-colored ribbon. Mary Martin, aunt of bride, of Blue Springs, Mo., served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Hemphill, sister-in-law of the groom, of Linwood; Meg Fasulo of Manhattan and Katie Shaeffer of Manhattan. The bridesmaids wore red satin, strapless, floor-length gowns with empire waists. The empire waist was accented with bugle beading and a bow. They carried smaller nosegays of fresh cream roses hand-tied with red ribbon. Brandon Hemphill, brother of groom, of Linwood, served as the best man. The groomsmen were T.J. Dietz of Eudora, Aaron Andrews of Manhattan, Andrew Owen, brother of the bride, of Hoisington and Jared Owen, brother of the bride, of Hoisington. Music was provided by Joyce Haberman of Great Bend, organist, and Colleen Gerstenkorn, aunt of groom, of Wichita, was the vocalist. Ushers were Austin LaViolette, cousin of the bride, of Hays and Matt Daniel, cous in of the groom, of Great Bend. Taperlighter was Mariah Meade, cousin of the bride, of Crestview, Fla. The bride is a 2003 graduate of Hoisington High School. She is a student at Kansas State University, majoring in biochemistry and chemistry. The groom is a 2002 graduate of Great Bend High School and a 2004 graduate of Manhattan Area Technical College. He is the head draftsman for Manko Window Systems in Manhattan. The couple makes their home in Manhattan.
