Karla Morgenstern and Jacob Wilkens were united in marriage on May 6, 2006 at All Faith’s Chapel in Manhattan. The Rev. Keith Weber officiated the double ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Robert and Jan Morgenstern of Hoisington, Jerry and Christine Wilkens of Omaha, Neb., and Dave Davis and the late Jerie Davis of Great Bend. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white matte satin V-neck halter gown embellished with beaded crystals on the empire bodice and a cascading caplet train. She wore a crystal tiara with a finger-tip veil adorned with scattered crystals and carried a European satin wrapped bouquet of hot princess pink roses. The maid of honor was Sara Goetz of Lawrence, friend of the bride. Attendants were Crista Robinson of Lees Summit, Mo, sister of the bride, Denise Wilkens of Manhattan, sister-in-law of the groom, Amber Fouts of Dallas Texas, Ashley VanScyoc of Manhattan and Dalton Popp of Hoisington all friends of the bride. They wore strapless posie-a-line satin dresses with gathered empire bodice. They carried hand-tied clutch bouquets of cherry brandy roses. The bride’s personal attendant was Ann Morgenstern of Oxford, Ms., cousin of the bride. The best man was Josh Wilkens of Manhattan, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Trent Stefek, Troy Roble, Chris Braley all of Manhattan and friends of the groom, Jon Fouts of Dallas, friend of the groom and Matt Morgenstern of Hoisington, brother of the groom. Ushers were Garrett DeHaven, Brandon Stefek, Jared Eatinger all of Manhattan and Nick Torres of Amarillo, Texas, all friends of the groom. Organist was Frank Schmeidler of Manhattan and vocalist was Denise Wilkens. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Hoisington High School and a 2004 graduate of KSU with a bachelor degree in agricultural economics. She is employed by Steel and Pipe Co., Inc. of Manhattan as an account manager. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Hoisington High School and a graduate of BCCC. He is superintendent for Braley Construction of Manhattan. The couple spent their honeymoon in Cancun. They reside in Manhattan.
