Cecily Lee Schartz and Kyle Christopher French were united in marriage on March 25, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Ellinwood. Rev. Shawn Winters officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Thier and the late Shawn Schartz. Grandparents of the bride are Bess ie DeWerff and the late Kenneth DeWerff, Gilbert and Lorene Schartz and Richard and Carol Thier. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry French. Grandparents of the groom are Vernon and Geneva Stienert and the late Eldon and Margaret French. The bride, given in marriage by her father Greg Thier, wore a diamond-white, one-piece, strapless, A-line gown with corset back. Layers of shimmering organza asymmetrically cascaded toward the hem in three tiers. Delicate floral embroidery edged the tiers of organza, framing the gown with embellishments of Swarovski crystals, pearls, glass beads, bugle beads, seed beads and sequins. The bride’s headpiece was a band of miniature Swarovski crystals and pearls and her veil was a very simple translucent snow-white dotted with miniature crystals. She carried a solid bouquet of deep wine roses. The maid of honor was Yvonne Springer of Belton, Mo. Bridesmaids were Cora Coleman of Lawrence, Bethany Phillips of Ellinwood, Heidi Krause of Manhattan, and Lindsay Wood of Des Moines, Iowa. The bridesmaids wore floor-length wine-colored gowns with beaded embellishments on the bodice. They carried a half dozen off-white Eskimo roses. The best man was Corey French. Groomsmen were Colby Taylor of Edmond, Okla., Brett Trafas of Kansas City, Mo., Micah Schmidt of Wichita, and Jeff Moore of Manhattan. Riley Moulder of Lee’s Summit, Mo., was the ring bearer and Ellie Willinger of Great Bend was the flower girl. Ushers were Kip Kraisinger of Topeka, Eddie Wright from Kansas City, Sam Thier and Bill Thier of Ellinwood. Guitarist and vocalist were Jason and Leah Graves of Manhattan. The bride is graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in business administration. She is employed at Peoples Bank in Overland Park as a cash management operations specialist. The groom is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in secondary education. He is employed for Ryans Lawn and Tree in Overland Park as a turf account manager. The couple reside in Overland Park.
